I wouldn't be surprised if it was canceled. It was simply an awful, awful game. It just felt like it wasn't even close to done during the open beta that I tried. Everything about the game was just badly done, it wasn't even on par with the worst Free to play and that's saying something.

Took the words right out of my mouth, dont reward those who buy Gpots and play your games but some stranger who happens to stumble upon the site and make an account or the geek who generates 100+ bogus accounts to get the lucky one....who thought this idea up *Shakes head*

I liked Free Realms but I could not tolerate the constant downloads, if you are on anything less than a very fast DSL/Cable connection be ready to stare at the message "Downloading 1mb of 10.5mb" every time you get to a new area or a portion of the map you have yet to approach, you freeze in place usually until enough data is buffered. I began to dread runing anywhere near the black chunks of my map. If they had an actual client I could download instead of the streaming system I would still be playing the game. I searched all over the options and settings for an option to download the files continously instead of on demand but I gave up. I liked the game but the streaming data system drove me and my DSL connection back to games that have a downloadable client.

Hawkwind nailed it. Try the game out for yourself by all means but dont get your hopes up. Bots are rampant, more so than any other Free MMO I have played. The game itself is ok, fun at times really but customer service is next to useless, hackers still pop up every so often and the Bots....I really don't need to go on. Try for yourself since its free but hang on to your real money for awhile before spending any of it in 2Moons.

When the official forum and IRC channel are both turned off of course the hit count here is going to skyrocket

This would have really been a neat thing if they had only added a few more people. Have 2 more people do the same and see what they uninstalled, would really add something to it other than one persons opinion.

Groups still pull stuff but its an antiquated mechanic these days, I am actually glad its gone. EQ back then was great because we had only 3 or 4 choices of MMOs to play but with all the years that have passed and all the games that have introduced new ways to play people found other styles of play beyond the trinity that EQ used. With CoH the motto quickly became "Damage is king" and its fairly accurate, even EQ adopted this style of "Why mez it, if you can just kill it or off tank it?". Enchanters these days have a tough sell when looking for groups, there is little reason to have one beyond the mind buffs and the occasional add that is usually off tanked by someone or their bot. Although with the Mercenary's now anyone is their own group so its not as bad as it once was for Enchanters. Some raids and events still make full use of Enchanters but they really struggle when groups aren't available.

I guess the simple answer would be that we evolved beyond the need to have specialized classes for single tasks like Pulling single mobs or mezzing multiple mobs when a puller wasn't around, at least outside of EQ . Sure CoH has controllers/dominators but they also gave them a secondary with tough pets for damage so it balances out, my controller was actualy one of my greatest solo archetypes to play, hold everything with an AE, lock down any missed with single mez and let the pet/s go wild.

It needs work. I loaded it up and created my character but the ingame fighting is just terrible. Monsters respawn instantly over you, you cant see their hp or tell what has aggroed you. The characters animations are very basic, monster attacks are worse, the town was laid out fairly well but the basics like potions were expensive and made little sense that I ate up to 20+ at one time when I was injured. Whatever you do dont let the pet they give you die, its about 200,000 to revive it. They do give you a free revive along the way but why should it cost 200k to revive when it dies due to a crash to desktop? The starter area was devoid of people, I think in my few hours there I saw 2 people total. It has the premise of something that with more work might come close to enjoyable but they are far from that currently, very far.

I stuck  around for several levels but after getting swamped with instantly respawning mobs and no more cash for potions I gave up. Add to that the crashes at regular intervals and it was time for an uninstall. It is a small download though so by all means try it out, nothing to lose and it may appeal to you just dont expect top shelf quality, think project or under construction level.

It would be really empty over there without  all the drama though, I tend to lean towards forums that are not so heavy handed with the MOD stick. I like to see flame threads locked up or offtopics removed but let us debate please. Darkfall dug its own hole with the lack of available info, the NDA locked stress test/beta/etc...

A great example of this is when I read up on epic warrior, I knew more about that "New" game in 10 minutes than I have learned from weeks/months of watching the Darkfall forums and websites. Just don't take it all to seriously, people love to hate and people love to rush to the defense of an underdog. In the end the game either comes out or it doesnt, what any 1 or 100 people said has zero effect on that outcome. I called it vapoware last year, I am not ashamed to say that but I might end up eating those words and I havent commented on the game since, I simply check up on it every so often to see where its at. I am actually curious to see what happens with it, it sounds like its coming soon so maybe they can silence the haters once and for all.

I was playing it about a month ago and they had something called GhostKilling, you could target something like "Emporor Ssasra" and go down to the entrance and start attacking from there safely. I cant tell you how they looted it or how it even worked, it was all second hand information but that was the big nasty hack, the rest of them were trivial. I never ran into anyone doing it and have only heard of a few people accused while in game of doing it. It played just like EQ always had and the Ghostkill thing was never an issue for the guild I was in, we raided Plane of Time, Anguish, etc just like the old days....well with uber gear compared to the old days but it was still fun.

Its WoW like but outside of the dual class system WoW does it all better, a lot better. Its a pretty good game on its own but I think I would still rather pay for WoW rather than get this for free. True its still in "Beta" but most of these games remain in that state for years with an active cash shop so I dont see huge changes in its future but I could be wrong.

The game wasn't bad but having classes that are female/male only stinks, otherwise the game is pretty good.

Fileplanet is crap, phillipines doesnt work, just get it at xfire.com and then let it patch 762 files to the newest version. This game client is like the maltese falcon, even after I found one its still patching up. I would love it if they simply added a few alternate links onh the RF Online website. So far they have'nt even anounced that its f2p or have they? I looked at their site but didn't see anything in anouncements about it.

Found an updated client at Xfire.com, had to join up and download their chat app but its not bad. It sure beats the pants off fileplanet, that site is crapola. The xfire download started right up without a hitch, fileplanet's own download app couldnt find a mirror yet listed a 1 minute wait time

The tryrfonline link points to Fileplanet which refuses to let me download this on two different connections. I have tried several times in the last few days and it usually times out or never starts. Fileplanet is the exclusive host for the trial, I looked all over but only the optional bittorrent link was available and it has no seeds.

So far its been a wild goose chase to find a client to download. Someone posted the EP client from the phillipines RF site and I hope its in english. Fileplanet sure has been nothing short of frustrating to use .

Could they have found a worse place to host the trial? Fileplanet stinks, the download says "10minute wait" but just keeps going up until "page cannot be displayed". Hopefully they send this file out to other sites, I even tried the bittorrent but thats useless without seeds.

I played this thing for 5 minutes before removing it, its crap. To even get it to work I had to download 2 versions, many sites carry the older version which will attempt to download the updates only to stall, crash, etc. After this you will go to their forum and search for any hint of help, it took me awhile to find out that version such and such doesnt update, get version whatever it was from Gamershell...

After all this I got into the game and its just ugly, slow and the town is literally 200 people jammed together and they all want you to buy their things. The lack of any ingame tutorial also sealed the deal, I tried to run around and kill a few things but it was just awful .

Nope but they claim to have something in the works...so far the support for this game has been crapola. I have seen 2 GMs in my time and one couldnt speak anything but broken english. They don't even ban AFK summoners, I tested it out. I afked for days in denebe and never got ported to town or even warned.

The lack of good early quests, your first experience being 14 lines of "Buy your dil here blah, blah" or some potatoe head spamming "Give me things and I will stop flooding" along with the overdone cursing just turned me off of this game overtime. My summoner is 34 but I just dont like much about the game.
