A large portion of todays gamers like myself are bored with the current crop of games. That's one reason you see them constantly checking up on how games are currently doing.

I just don't see anything worthwhile out atm. Hopefully, this will change and soon.  But if a decent game was to emerge they would definitely corner the gaming market being the majority are bored silly with whats out now.

Well said, Baikal.

Crafting isn't for everyone and it sure is a massive grind off repetition.

The point I'm stating is you shouldn't have to go thru hell just to get a house. And since like you wrote, crafting isn't for everyone then since the homes are so expensive only crafters will be able to afford them, leaving adventuring-only players out the mix for the most part.

This is not what Sigil hinted at at the start of this game. They claimed mounts and housing was going to be easily available for everyone and in low levels. This is one of the things they put a lot of emphasis on to differentiate them from other games. But now we see it's not at all like they wanted everyone to believe.

A coincidence only WoW's players have been hacked and no other games?

Well, Blizzard is obviously doing something wrong which leads to this going on only in their games and not the thousands of others.

They're probably responsible for this happening. I mean it's their fault thru'  how they run their systems or something to that affect.

In response to the housing issue. You may not be saying it but I am, housing shouldn't take this much effort.

You can get a mount at level 10 or 12, early on but you can't get a house?  You may, but you sure have to work your ass off to get it.

Wasn't housing one of the main issues constantly brought up by Sigil at the start? How everyone would and could have a house? Yet, you have to go thru' thick and thin to get one? The grind is bad enough just leveling up and now this?

The more I see of this game the happier I am I didn't stay too long wasting time here.

I imagine if anyone stayed anywhere for 30 days they'd have some gold too. This is exactly what most players don't want to do, spend hours upon hours and days upon days being in the same spot, doing the same thing over and over and over again. Boredom quickly sets in.

You might of made money but look at all you needed to do. It's just not worth it, it's really not. Not in VG anyway, not with the way everything is.

Plus, all that time spent in the dungeons and you got nowhere in levels.  Where's the advancement there in that part? It's still a grind, 30 days spent and you've not advanced in levels.  Once again, it's just not worth it.

Is this what you're suppose to do to make gold just adventuring?  Not good.

If you're satisfied then good for you but I see it as having to grind away hours upon hours for the sake on making a few gold pcs and only that as you don't advance in levels doing this as stated by these comments.  The game sure hasn't changed much.

"I really wanna like this game".

You can safely say everyone who brought it had the same thought, unfortunately....

You at least got to 36. By 19 I was out and with several weeks remaining of paid game play.

Who really cares?

This poll thing is gotten out of hand. They make polls for everything especially for meaningless stuff like this.

NO offense to the op but no one cares.

The best thing you can do if you don't get any responses regarding your question is to go to the games list and check them all out. Each game has the specs required to play it listed in there.

Shame you can't play it, it's a fun game.

Sexiest armor,  Wow?

You can't be serious.  When it comes to items, armor, graphics and secenery in general, WoW is at the bottom of the barrel. Actually, it's underneath the bottom of the barrel to be more precise.

A game like this shouldn't even be brought up in conversations about items that look good to begin with.

But how can you return to a game that had no population? It's like playing a PS2 or X-Box game where you play alone for the most part.

This isn't Galaxies, it's another game with the same name.

Yes,  Smedley and SOE took a risk and they failed, not just failed but failed miserably.  It happens to companies all the time but the big difference here is Smedley and company seem to fail time after time after time. Yet, Sony keeps this guy around. Go figure.

The on-line gaming community knows Smedley and SOE are the gaming worlds laughstock.  This is no secret.

SOE's reputation is of a company that takes games and completely demolishes them to the point no one really wants to play them. They have a stable of the crappiest games out although many like Galaxies didn't start off that way.

How they manage to stay afloat is a wonder in itself.

This so called logic of Turbine holding back the money til the game is released is nonsense.  This just doesn't wash.  The game is cheap with the cash it offers it's players plain and simple but that's the way of most games out. WoW is probably the worse at doing this as that games missions don't pay anything, period.  Just a very small portion does but that's it.

Repairs in Vanguard are just like they say here, they're expensive and you need repairs very frequently. All these games seem to be cut from the same cloth. They're all the same in just about everything they offer, this is why players get bored quickly.

This is why you see constant posts of players asking for new games and saying they're bored. They wait for the next game hoping it's something new but when they finally begin to play the game they've waited for they find out it's more of the same. People waited on this game and now most of them are complaining and waiting on the next one. It's like a circle with no end.

Whatever they have here now is what they're planning on bringing out. "they're waiting for the game to go live to release money and better things," yeah, you keep belieiving that.

"Has pvp improved"

Has the game improved? NO!!!  They both go hand in hand.

Returning to what, this game? You're joking right?

Things must really be bad in the gaming world when people are returning to this one. Who would of thunk it?

Because of WoW we continue to see all these crappy games. They want to copy WoW. They believe these exaggerated population numbers Blizzard constantly brags about which is extremely doubtful to begin with.

Get it straight people. 8 million don't play this game, 8 mil might of tried it at one time or other but they aren't all there. I mean this game is probably the most hated game around judging by the many posts in different forums.

WoW is basically a kids game and nothing more.  A bad one at that. The only thing is it has a very long reach into many countries and naturally more people have access to it but one thing is certain, not everyone who tries this game likes it.

You see it's fan base brag about how good the game is when in fact it's not. It has crappy graphics, unbalanced gameplay, it's expansions are just more of the same. But for the most part these people have nothing better to play so they stick with WoW. but it dosen't mean it's the best game out, far from it.

Eve?

The op said a decent learning curve, not an encyclopedia worth of tutorials and then some.

Auto Assault is a fast paced game with a great community. It also has a free 14 day trial with no need for credit cards. Go to their forums, sign up for a key and in a few seconds you'll get one, download client which is fast and check it out.

Lotro is no different then all these games out.  Like all games, it's fun at first since it's new but after a month or so, the excitement dies rather quickly and it'll get the usual complaints of boredom.  Although, I've already seen many of these already and the game just came out in beta.

It's another game of magic, swords, arrows and mounts. Another soon to be boring game just like all the rest. Right now there isn't any game out that stands heads and shoulders above the rest. They're all in the same barrel, actually the bottom of it. This is the reason so many players are bored and seeking something new and different.

This is the reason I didn't pre-order it although it would of only cost me $5.  it's not the money but the fact it's just more of the same and right now as it stands, more of the same just ain't doing it, not for me, not for most veteran players.

Fast paced?  Only one game is like this, Auto Assault.  You level quickly, you're always moving fast, destroying stuff and the missions are a bit different then most games.

I'm all for this game being improved.  After all, I did spend money on it as well as spending upwards of $600 upgrading my computer to play it.

I did leave due to several factors but would return if and when they improve on different fronts.
