Wow this sounds great! I truly hope this is true but I really doubt this. I feel they'll give just 1 per but I hope I'm wrong.

Is this enough to run Vsoh w/o problems?
General Discussion « Vanguard: Saga of Heroes 12/29/06 6:32:08 PM
BTW thanks for your responses. Before I didn't know what card to get and now I'm somewhat confused being I saw different things being said. But the bottom line is I'll get more Ram and a better card then the one I currently have and hope for the best. I'll keep watching out for tips on getting ready. Thanks again |

Is this enough to run Vsoh w/o problems?

Wait a minute. That video card was $329. at Best Buy and it's $89. at Newegg? Is that the exact same card? It looks like it is. He's not clueless, he was commenting on the card someone said played well or would play well on Vanguard. |

Ouch! I don't see a problem adding more Ram but a video card, that's another story. Is there a card that would work fine both in Vanguard as well as for most on-line games that wouldn't be too expensive? I'd say about the $175 range or maybe a bit more. And does it make any difference whether it's Radeon or Nividia? And thanks for your help guys |

Why many players dislike WoW so much?
General Discussion « World of Warcraft 12/29/06 9:46:20 AM
Besides the NGE SWG, WoW , although having had a large number of players throughout it's existence (and not necessarily at the same time) looks to be the most hated game out. Why is it? You have to admit many people post their dislike of this game and just about all who do have played it for a while. Personally, I played it a few months and left, haven't been back since and I'm not planning on returning either. I didn't think it's as good as all the hype it generates but that's my point of view. I also think once Vanguard is released and gets going that many current players will leave WoW to play Vanguard. from what I've seen and read on Vanguard it seems it's a far superior game then WoW. I may be wrong since I haven't played it but it sure looks like it'll be a big hit among players.

Is this enough to run Vsoh w/o problems?
General Discussion « Vanguard: Saga of Heroes 12/29/06 9:37:53 AM
hey guys, I've played just about all the top games featured here with no real problems on my computer but as you know, Vanguard isn't like these games, it's a lot bigger and needs more. So I'm hoping I can get some advice on my system in case I need to add more power in order to be ready for when Vanguard is released. I have: Dell 8300 Series, Intel Pentium 4 Processor at 2.66GHz Radeon 9300SE Card 1024 Ram Hope this is enough info and someone can advise me on if I need more. I appreciate any help anyone can provide Thank You

Thanks alot for the information. I thought it was 3 months free play but it's not. Forgive me for being a bit dense on this but what exactly is this thing you get for 3 months. What are the benefits and how does it work? I read what it said but I don't know what this is all about. I'm hoping the speed horse shoes can be taken off after you put them on your mount. Since you'll be getting better mounts as you continue to level up and you'll be able to use them on those better mounts later on. On the guild buff thingy, I wonder if you can use it even if you're not in a guild or just by yourself or with a small group of friends. Ok I read where it said you need to have a guild in order to use the buffs. You think it's worth getting the Guild Edition even though it's almost $50.00 more then the regular edition? Hmm it says $89.00 for this guild edition yet Gamestop wrote on my bill $99.00 for this. I'll have to check this out then. Thanks again |

Which combos of profession/race look good?
General Discussion « Vanguard: Saga of Heroes 12/28/06 9:06:34 PM
I was checking out the skills on several of the professions in Vanguard. And it sure looks like the Druid class won't be as wimpy as in WoW. I had a level 58 Druid in WoW and they weren't all that in fighting. But in Vanguard they look pretty good. Although, I'll prefer to play a Dreadknight with a Barbarian if possible. Babarians are strong and it'll help a lot in Meelee combat to have that extra strength. Which combos of profession and race look good? |

What does each edition bring?
General Discussion « Vanguard: Saga of Heroes 12/28/06 10:14:52 AM
I was just checking out the 2 editions for Vanguard. The regular one and the one for $99.00 Guild Edition. I recalled having read where the Guild Edition would bring 3 free months, 10, 10 day keys for access to the game and several more things in it. But I just checked out Gamestop and it has the same exact things for the regular and the guild editions and nothing on all the extras mentioned before especially for the guild edition. It only mentions a scroll to help you run faster in game. Anyone know exactly what each one brings or a site where everything is listed? Thanks all |

I got tired of fighting games about 7 months ago and decided to check out this game Second Life. It was different as it has many things you don't expect in a game. I've had a lot of fun meeting people and having my own land but I'm currently awaiting the release of Vanguard and as of the last week I haven't played it much as I've lost my desire to continue this game. Although I do like this game, I have to say, this game is one of the most buggiest games ever. I'm just like most players, I've played most of the top games on-line so I've seen my share of buggy games and devs who have no clue. SL has to be on the top of the list when it comes to how badly it's run by it's technical team. These guys are terrible and thats with a capital T. They constantly add stuff that's not needed or that has no real value to it's players. For example: Things like not being able to teleport more then half the times go unchecked. The forums are filled with complaints about this as well as other complaints about essential things, yet, not a word from the people who run the game. You can't go from one place to another. People who pay big money to run a business aren't getting any customers as no one can come in to shop. Instead, they've hiked the prices on land and have made the game totally free which now doesn't even require any info on your part to gain entry. While this may seem to be a good thing, in reality it's not as the game is running amok with idiots who make life there hell for it's paying population. They come in and have nothing to lose since it's free since if they were to get banned which they don't regardless of the number of complaints from others. They'll just make another av and continue to do the same thing, harassing others. Linden which is the company running this game does not police the game the way it should be. If someone who pays them lots of money for land steals from you or cheats, harasses or does anything to you and even if you have proof right there in black and white, don't expect Linden to do anything. I've seen it happened and it's happened to me. Even with a copy of incriminating statements and pictures from the offender right there as proof, it absolutely serves no purpose as Linden won't do anything to help. I guess they figured they'll lose money if they banned such a person as one paying them a nice amount of change. I had beautifully furnished and fixed up land for which I paid a big sum but I recently sold it plus I down-scaled my account to basic and now I don't pay one cent to this company. I did it not because I can't afford it but because I refuse to pay a dime for bad customer service. Lots of players are doing the same thing and for good reason. It took them a few years to reach the million mark in population but once they made it free as can be without any verification what-so-ever, all of sudden in a few months, they've surpassed the 2 million mark. And it's not because the game is run right or it's virtually bug free which it's players know is far from it. It's because thats Linden main priority, to gain people, even if more then half don't pay a cent to play. Go figure! God, I can't wait for Vanguard to start. |

CoH/CoV are ok for a while. Very colorful and very easy to play but don't expect much other then repeated missions all the time. No housing, no crafting, no inventory, not much of anything except missions. Once you have about 5 levels to do to reach the final top level and I'm talking about back when CoV began, you run out of missions. A problem which also affects WoW and you're forced to group which is also a hassle depending on the time you're doing it. But overall, it's fun to play it for a while. I got to level 40 which was the top level back when CoV went live. I had a Mastermind but first I ran out of missions, then once I hit level 40, there wasn't anything else to do so I left the game. I returned recently since they were about to up the levels to 50 but the new zone called Grandville is totally different from the other zones as I couldn't get in it. Finally, after much time and troubles and doing everything I could think of, I got in. but then the colors were all crazy and I couldn't see anything because of this. So the video card which is good for the rest of the zones isn't good for the final one. I asked CoV's "Support " for help back then for this problem I had and this was right after Grandville was installed and levels went up to 50 which was a while back. *Flash forward 'til the present day* I'm still waiting for their response. So you get the picture more or less on this game. |

That was one thing I liked about CoV/CoH. The quest would adapt to the number of players doing it. Less players meant easier quests, where as a large group made the quest harder as it should be. I had a level 58 Druid and like the op I also was forced to quest in groups, never mind that I had 2 others with me most of the time. Once you get to the mid 50's there are no more missions to do, only Dungeons, Dungeons and more Dungeons which you couldn't do with 3 people. Now you have to begin a search for a group which is hard to do depending on the time you're doing it. Then you'd have to group with players you didn't know and many times as you know, players don't know how to group properly which then resulted in deaths galore. Lately, I 'm seeing more and more posts about players leaving WoW. But this is nothing, wait 'til Vanguard is fully released. WoW will be but a distance memory. |

How much will you get to train?
General Discussion « Vanguard: Saga of Heroes 12/27/06 11:08:19 PM
Back in the day in SWG, you were given 250 points to use as you wanted to level up. If I'm not mistaken, in Vanguard they call it Spheres I believe. Anyone know how these "Spheres" will work or how many or how much can you learn and level up in one character? Is there enough to naster fighting skills and some crafting at the same time? I think Diplomacy goes to 500. But what about fighting and crafting skills?
Thanks |

I was checking out the part about Diplomacy and already I don't like it. It seems to be complicated as hell. So unless I can find a way to learn it from others in game I'll stay away from it completely, and knowing me and how impatient I am, I probably won't waste my time with it, period. But as far as fighting and adventuring and crafting, that's what I'm looking forward to. BTW, nice link.

Any recent info on the following?
General Discussion « Vanguard: Saga of Heroes 12/27/06 3:51:25 PM
I've looked in a few places but haven't come up with any good information on the following or at least nothing recent. This has probably been discussed but I'm new here so I'm still searching for info. 1. PVP Will pvp be like WoW with races vs races? Or Will it be like SWG where you can turn pvp on and off? I'm thinking they'll probably have pvp servers but even then how will it work? 2. Crafting I read where it'll be more then just click click click like in SWG where you had to grind like mad, doing the same thing over and over not to mention it cost a lot to master a profession like Architect which ran about 3 million just to master. I think I read somewhere where they said you would have to make things for npc's to gain experience. But this was a while back, anything new on this? 3. How many av's per server? I'm hoping at at least 2 per. 4. .Diplomacy What exactly is this? Is it more or less like Politician in SWG even though Politician was nothing in that game. But any quick rundown on what this is suppose to be? And will this take up room that you could otherwise use for something else, like crafting or fighting skills? Thanks for any info provided |

Preordered Vsoh but no code or box
General Discussion « Vanguard: Saga of Heroes 12/26/06 9:28:19 PM
Hey guys, Last week I pre-ordered Vanguard at Gamestop as I've done many other times for games that were coming out. But usually you get the game box with a code which gives you access to the games Beta when the Beta opens up to people who've pre-ordered. Now I know this stage of the Beta where pre-orders are let in is not yet available, that's later on. But I didn't get anything, just a receipt acknowledging I paid a certain amount and my balance due. Can anyone shed any light on this? Was I suppose to get the game box with the code for it's beta when it's ready? Or, will this come out later on as we near the date for it? I asked because I read in these same forums where someone wrote they pre-ordered the game and setup the game client. I don't know what to make of this. I did ask the guy at Gamestop and he said he wasn'r awred of anything being given out with the preorder other then the receipt. Thanks for any help.
