Vanguard now seems polished?

Wishful thinking and then some.  I see some things never change. You go ahead and keep believing this game is "polished" and or will do better. If you care to convince yourselves of ridiculous statements like this do so but the majority of smart gamers who have been around know better.

Don't forget server mergers happen to dying games not "polished" ones.

Most of us have pictures just like this one of long ago but these pics mean squat.. Trying to pass off pics of crowds is an old trick, even doctoring dates is too.

Change is good where needed.  Change is not good where it's not needed like in the revamping of the complete game as SOE did.  SWG only needed fixes in certain areas like Combat Medic and a few others not how it was done. They pulled the game from under its players and replaced it with what you see now.  Is this what was needed?  Pleaseee!!! 

There's a big difference in what was needed and what they did.  But now many of the ones who wanted complete change will defend calling for it.

For the most part you're wasting your time seeking honest answers.  The majority of it's tiny current population will tell you the game is soooooo much fun when in reality not much has changed.  Just look at it's server merger and this should answer many questions. mergers are done to keep dying games alive. Games which have skeleton populations because everyone has left.  Had VG improved they would add not subtract servers.

These forums have much more action and are much more interesting then VG itself.

Shhhh!!!  Don't say they're shutting down VG.  You want the current tiny crop of it's current players to have heart attacks?

I know all about SWG and what SOE did with the changing of the old galaxies into this new dumb version they have now. I was there from start until the new game was implemented. How they screwed up the galaxies of old with this stupid NGE.

With this said I also know many of you guys who now blast SOE for the game they now call SWG are partly responsible for this happening.  I remember many of you frequented the forums in the game and constantly called for a new combat system.  How many would cry about this and that and fought for change when all that was needed were minor fixes to certain areas and not the entire system.

So many of you have no justification in coming out or having come out to bitch on how SOE changed and destroyed the old Galaxies.  Many of you are partly responsible for this yourselves.

You can argue in SOE's defense 'till you're blue in the face which many of it's few current players do.  But when all is said and done the bottom line will always remain the same: SOE cannot be trusted,period.  They have proven this over and over and over again.  To think otherwise is to be a fool.

No. It's more like this:

MOST people, MOST that have played Vanguard have NOT liked it.  Many, many reasons why they've not liked it. Way too many to mention.

SOME people, FEW have played Vanguard and liked it.  Most of these few still play it just like SWG, another dead game which SOE continues to keep afloat and which also has dead servers much like VG. Yet, a handful continue to play it.

We all know about SOE"s stable of dead games which amazingly they still keep going. Only because it's a large company. Had it been a small to medium company running either of these games, they would of pulled the plug long ago.

Seems to me they've made the creatures weak.  Back then one of those creatures would of taken out a person's pet right away but now it looked like they were going at it toe to toe.  There's no challenge now, not like this.

I think they've done this to accomodate the players being the servers are empty and without others to assist no one would be able to hunt dragons and other type creatures like this.

But then again this isn't  Starwars Galaxies, but  just another completely different game but with the same name as the old galaxies.

Maybe it was the server I was in that space was empty?  Hummmm...Nope!

You've been here since '04, so I'm sure you've read the countless number of postings from players and mainly ex-players who frequently complained of space being deserted.  Actually, it's not just space itself but the servers themselves that are deserted.  Only time there was really any traffic was at  it's release.

This isn't anything new, it's a well known fact servers have long been dead.  I liked space in galaxies a lot but the mission system was or still is terrible.  Many complained about it being deserted, they also let it be known the mission system was really bad.

You can call it  rambling, I call it facts.  And as I just stated, you've been here long enough to of read the hundreds of thousands of complaints from people who played this game.  And not just in these forums but in the gaming world as well. I feel to stand there and defend something so many others have long stated how bad it really is, is better suited to be called "rambling" then anyone else stating the obvious.

Umm..excuse me..but how can you get anywhere let alone master pilot when there's no one in space. Come to think of it, there's no one on the ground either.

In order to do this you need others with you and I think that's pretty hard to do when space is a virtual ghost town.  Only time there was any traffic in space was when space first came out. Now? Forget it. 

SWG space is very nice in appearance. The missions are terrible. You begin a mission, spend an hr or more on it, you're killed, now you have to go get the mission once again. Like with the missions you got where Vader is in Naboo I believe it is. You have to fly there then go all the way to where he is on bike which is a distance away. You have to keep doing this over and over again. Very tiring and very boring. You do this no matter what mission it is or where you got it on the ground.

Unless you have access to Vaders place directly from your ship then it becomes easier but still the problem many players complained about was the length of missions and the having to start from the start each time. No wonder space was abandoned so quick. Much faster then the ground game and I never though the ground game would be abandoned as it has been as fast as it has either and we all know how the masses fled when this new game they still called SWG came out.

If you know this then why spend time asking the same thing again? Go read these posts which as you know are all over this place and you have your question answered.  Constantly, every single day someone comes to ask the same thing. Why? It's all over the place what state this game is, it's all over the gaming world too.

Everyone knows how this game is, what state it's in, this is no secret..  It's servers are empty which is why the merger is here, this alone answers any questions about the state of this game. A good game adds servers. A bad game takes them out and or merges them. And what is SoE going to do? They're merging, taking out.

Questions answered.

Enough with the constant bragging about how many people this over-rated game has, who freaking cares?

You can't possibly think there's that many people playing this game.  Maybe, there has been numbers in the millions but not everyone still plays it. many of these people ahve long left this has-been of a game yet, Blizzard still counts them as being here.

If anything, a real big portion of these ex-players hate this game now as witness by the many, many posts about how much it sucks.

WoW is the best of the worse games out so thats not saying a whole lot of wow either as there aren't any games of its kind worth playing.  All the talk and hype about Vanguard and that one too fell flat on it's face.

WoW has 7 million players, 6 million, 9 million? No one cares about WoW's constant inflated numbers, that's Blizzards scheme of bringing them up and about.

My sons  360 also broke after just a few months.  It stopped reading disc it says.

All this hype and all that money, all wasted on this pc of garbage.  They won't get me again that's for sure.

Who you trying to convince?  Is this why they were forced to merge servers? Because as you said its getting better? 

**NEWSFLASH**

They don't merge servers if the game is "doing better" they merge servers because no one wants to play it meaning it's NOT doing "better everyday" as you stated.  Players for the most part took off for many different reasons and trust me there are MANY, too many to list now.

Although gaming companies won't ever admit it when they're forced to merge servers they know its because they've fail and are trying to gather up the few remaining to keep them together so they too won't leave.

Having we been told again and yet again how packed the servers are in VG by many of its fanbo...er..players?  How great the game is now and how much they've fixed it compelling so many players to return?  How everything is so sweet and many ex-players are back?

Here's proof they're merging servers due to LACK of population. Ok? LACK as in few as in not many as in almost empty as in almost everyone jumped ship as in it's not worth it as in....  You no longer can come and tell the gaming world VG is thriving because it's not. A game that's thriving and doing well doesn't need to merge it's servers. On the contrary, it's failed, period.

My guess is this is just the begining if they haven't already merged other servers before and most likely will merge many more before it's all over.  But you know, this isn't a surprise. The way this game was headed it was just a matter of time before they had to merge servers and expect a lot more tightening of the belt for VG.

Florendyl is probably the worse of all the servers and many players at the time back then came here and stated it was. Lack of cooperation between many of it's players was the main gripe back then.

So the mergers have begun, just another step BACKWARDS for SOE and this game. You can't deny it if this game was worth it they would be adding servers, not disposing of them.  But as most of us know, this couldn't happen to a nicer bunch then SOE. I'm sure many ex -SOE game players couldn't be happier for them, I know I am.
