a grind can be fun?  Only way a grind can be fun, IMO, is if the game hides in in a miraculous way.  Some games, like most f2p games, have quests that are just Kill X ammount of This type quests.  That is a horrible, blatant way of showing the grind.  other games, like most main stream MMOs, actually do a good job of managing their grind, IE varried quests and other ways of getting items to show off, like PVP and dungeons.

Played a bonedancer, not enough dps, not enogh survivabiltiy so I changed to a Sorcerer. Now that was fun. Completely screwing over a whole group with a very well placed Aoe Mez and a few roots.'

Went onto WoW like many did. Played a Lock, a Mage, A priest, and finally and most recently a rogue. I considered myself a great healer, a terrible kiter(I fail at icemage) although truth be told the only toon I lvld myself all the way to 70 was the lock, the others well friends gave the toons to me.

So now here I am having a pretty good time on the rogue and thinking that maybe this was the class for me all along (3 yrs into wow, great timing aye)

So Im at sort of a crossroads. Do I go with some of the amazing looking casters of WAR. THe firemage looks absolutely bad ass. Big dmg, big boom but then I think to myself, what about survivability. And what casters have a overall balance feel to them.

Is my glass cannon going to be regulated down to GLASS much like the mage has been in WoW?

And are there even going to be stealthers like we had in WoW? I dont think so per se, but I havent read anything recently to shed any light on that subject.

 

So to the real question of this whole half rant of a thread, has anyone seen any more info on the classes than whats on WAR's website? I would love to see attacks, defensive moves, counters--anything really to give me a better idea how these classes play would be great.

 

 

And to add even more conflict within myself, which side? I read the kiddies will most likely play Chaos. Not sure how much I want to be part of the Cult wannabe RP crowd....and the tight nit RvR guilds of DAOC always chose the under dog realms.

Well, it looks like youve played Casters your whole MMO career, so if you wanna stick wit it, then play a caster class.  For myself, i want to choose a "good" alligned character and i want to play something unique.  That is why im gonna choose a witch hunter :)  I may choose something else when i get in game, but witch hunter is looking pretty BA atm

Hey guys just some registering questions.  I got onto the beta center just now and entered my preorder beta code, and it worked.  It then said my status was Warhammer Pre order.  I then got onto my master account and tried to add the same code but it says Invalid Code.  Did i just screw myself over? or is this because they arent taking registrations yet?

im not a big PVPer, mind you, but i will say if the RVR is fun i will take place in the battles.  I think the WoW PVP gets extremely boring after just 1 AV or WSG.  Probably because they are extremely unbalanced sometimes, scores like 2000 - 100 and stuff like that where its 45 minutes of hopelessness on the Horde side.  I really hope the PVP in war is fun with some sweet rewards, kinda like Honor/Badge rewards in WOW

i preordered regular and got an OB code.  The website says "Please check back on the 4th for detailed instructions on entering the OB" so my guess is tommorow.  I will be very happy because i really wanna play this game XD

Hey i just preordered the game yesterday from gamestop and wasnt given a code or anything besides a confirmation of order receipt.  Wasnt i supposed to get a little code or something?  Someone told me they would be given out on the 3rd of august, is this true?

have the winners been picked yet?

unauthorized transactions?  what classifies the trade as unauthorized transactions.  They can look at his account info and see that he lives in California or Maine, and not Beijing, China.  They can notice that the ammount of gold he sent to his buddy was probably about 2g, which is too small for a gold farmer to send.  Who buys 2g from farm websites?

id try Luminary, from ijji.com.  Its free to play and grindy, but the crafting system is so good.  You can craft the usual swords, spears and stuff like that, but you can take it further to craft all kinds of foods and medicines with things you have farmed from enemies.  You get some rice from enemy mobs, mix it with some soy sauce bought from the market and some ginsing you got from other guys (its an asian themed game), and viola!!  you have fried rice XD.  Check it out, i loved it when i played it a while ago.

wow BG's are one of the most boring things ive ever done.  I want to shoot myself when a 45 min BG turns out to be a loss, it seems like a waste of time.

Id say fury, too.  Havent played it but its a solely pvp game.  Its really not an mmorpg, though, its more of an MMOTPS(third person shooter).  I hear shadowbane is good for pvp, but the game is dead.  Guild Wars is a pvp centric game too, and there isnt much of a grind, you must pay for the initial box though.
