This might sound crazy but, ...  what is hello kitty?

seriously, is it a greeting or something?  where is it from.  is there a story i missed as a kid or is this for girls only?  i don't have any sisters so i'm not in the know on what little girls read or do growing up.

I really hate reading the forumns on here.  Everyone is so cynical.  They never stay on topic.  they derail posts constantly.  And, 90% they are employees of the company that the OP's are complaining about.

If you're a friggin employee, just come out and say you're an employee and you're defending your company.  Enough with the shinanigans.

The OP wasn't deceptive.  I clearly understood the post in the first sentence.  There's no mystery to what he's talking about.  Just by the title alone i KNEW he wasn't going to talk about HL making a trojan, hell that's be national news I think.  I knew instantly he was going to point out some flaw about the game.  Doesn't take rocket science.  Doesn't take a membership to [whatever the name of that genius club]

If you feel somehow deceived that's your own character flaw.  Don't ascribe your own short comings to someone else.  Stay on topic and stop trying to derail the post.  A simple "I disagree" would be enough.

Yeah I play this game.  It is crap.

1. it is TOTALLY unstable.  I often have complete computer crashes playing this game.  I asked in general chat was i the only one and a gamesage answered me that everyone crashes and have been crashing since day 1.

2. it is glitchy as hell.  The mini map and world map don't work at all.  The chat system is insanely bad.

3. there is no balancing of classes. a person with a bow can kill 1 thing at a time.  a person with a sword can kill an infinite amount of things at a time.

4. there is no customization.  you level up. that's it. no points, no talents, no skill trees. you just level up.

Did i mention computer halting crashes.  Don't paint a picture that is not there, there is nothing good about this game.

Why are you 3 [looks like the same 3 people] bashing this guy for posting what I read as an eloquent and logical progression to a conclusion.

1. he mentioned there aren't mounts

2. he mentioned no crafting

3. he mentioned no overall continuous game story

4. he mention no pvp

So what's the problem with his post?  I don't get you all bashing him at all.  He said the graphics looked great, i agree with him on that, i like da shinys.  But from my stand point I couldn't see what was IN the game, and the classes seemed ... a bit off?

It leads me to conclude that the 3 guys bashing the OP are employees of the company [one seems to admit it]  So your opinions are all null and void.

It takes more than just a pretty game to make a game successful these days [vanguard hello]

None of you 3 fanboys have disproved any of the points he made.  And, before you say, OH we pointed out a,b,c,... all those things were ... "in the making"  how much will it suck when for the first 3 months there's no mounts [people will quit on day 3, especially the powergamers] no mounts that crap gets old QUICK. ok no crafting?  the whole point of RPG is that there's a progression of the character, crafting gives a player a sense of impacting the game and progressing personally.  it's ridiculous not to have crafting in a game these days.

You flaming the OP and saying stuff like don't feed the trolls makes it more apparent that you yourselves are the trolls.

Ok here's my learned and unbiased opinion.

1. i played since the first beta after alpha

2. at the time the only thing that was clearly developed were the hobbits

3. i thought the game was horrible and had ZERO to do with lord of the rings, it was not immersive and not nearly different from any korean game i play on a regular basis.

4. i left short after

5. returned when i got invited to the next phase of beta, there were updates but still it lacked content

6. it's an ugly game.  even with everything turned up to lag inducing graphics mode, it's a hideous game IMO.  the graphics are unstable on my setup, [note that wow graphics are completely tested on every possible setup known to man and are unflinchingly stable]

7. i reported everything

8. i left and came back for a final beta invite. the pre launch open beta.  it was still boring, ugly, not immersive, not unique, not lordsy enough for me.

Note when i posted that it was boring, or not immersive on the forumns everyone jumped on me and said how wonderful the game was.

My friend bought the game i found out, like a week ago.  I went to see how much it cost in the store, to give it one last try.  It's $50.00 furikkin bucks plus the monthly fee.  are you furikkin kidding me????? yeah not in this life time buddy.

In my honest opinion.  this game release did a disservice to the good name of Tolkien and the LOTR franchise as a whole.  It's as bad as what Sony did to Star Wars with SWG.  These licensors should ultimately put in the contract that they have final say if the game should be released.

So you played in beta and thought the game sucked. Then you never played after release and thought the game sucked. Does that sum it up?

You do realize when you are invited to a beta its not a finished game. Your there to help not play a free game.

Your post has 0 merit and has failed.

You're what, brain dead or something or can't read.  and you sum something up why don't you sum up all the points.  Lastly if your'e going to be derogatory have some merit of your own.

Let ME sum up what i said.  I played in all the closed beta since alpha.  I also played in the prerelease phase which alloyed everyone to get in early and get a prerelease order package or did you miss that part?  The game was finished.  I played right up to the day before release in retail, AND THEN QUIT.

Now the fact that many agree with my opinion gives me vindication right there.    Don't get all fanboi on me, did you even play?  Lastly you have something confused.  Open beta doesn't mean the game isn't comparable to it's release phase.  On the contrary, open beta is a bunch of stress testing to see if the servers can handle the server load.  They are done with the game.  Or maybe you didn't know that MR. expert betaphobe.

Go flame somewhere else.

You seem to be very ignorant in what actually goes on to make one of these games... This isn't just a two man job they can do a couple hours a day after they get off work. It is a long, complicated process involving many talented people to bring something like this to light.

You may not like the game, that's fine, but honestly, don't go around trashing people's work as easy. I don't like WoW, but I don't claim my buddy and I could have made it.

Also, you want us to spend $500 dollars... and then another $60 to play a game that doesn't resemble Fury in any way, shape or form? Instead, we can play the game we want to for $15 bucks a month.

Consoles are trash. They are expensive. They don't do anything NEAR what a computer can do. Their games cost $60 now. You can't mod them. You can't Multi-task. You can't upgrade them, at least, not in any sence of putting in more memory or a new graphics card anytime you want. What is the point? They are inferior, EXPECIALLY for shooters.

I'll get Gears of War for PC, but console shooters just suck. All of them.

I think what is sad is that you just come in and bash people for no reason. Everyone has their personal preference. Get over yourself.

Quote me on this. [note i don't own a console]

"I predict in 5 - 10 years pc's will be obselete for gaming.  Consoles will completely take over.  With the advent of HD widescreen tv's, there will arise HD only games with HD consoles to support them [or visa versa].  The PC's will be primarily used for business only."

As such, pc's are not superior to consoles.  Have you even seen the latest consoles?  I mean all of the latest?  They currently have everything you'd want on your pc WITH the inclusion of ease of portability of the console and the games.

1. online

2. voice over chat

3. typed chat

4. keyboard, mouse, joystick, drive wheel, dance pad, 3d-ui accessory i.e. light saber / guitar / tennis racket / fishing pole / golf club.

5. headset

6. camera

If you want to play ... i mean PLAY a game,  pound for pound i think right now a console beats a computer.  Now add in like the other poster said, trading games with a monthly fee, just like the mail in movie rentals... you can't even do that with pc's.

This wasn't about a pc vs console argument though.  I'm saying, it is silly to pay for the honor of providing someone else with in game content [Asheron's call II anyone?]

It' s a bitter pill to swallow, i'm pointing out what's going on.  It's like the first person in congress that admitted that the war in Iraq had nothing to do with America at all, he was nearly lynched for pointing out the facts.  I"m just pointing out the facts.

The game has no content, and you pvp all day, YOU are the content.  I guarantee they don't have a staff of 50 people.  I'd even venture to say less than 20.  And yes I've seen a game programmed by 2 people, the other 4 were merely support.  But brass tacks, it's the 2 people that actually did the work.

Clearly there's about 2 reasons mmo's [there's no mmorpg that i've seen so far] are a bunch of grind fests so far:

1. the complete lack of imagination on the devs part to come up with a rich story that is so encompassing that it would take years to unravel.

2. along with #1, the complete lack of a companies ideas as to how to keep subscribers in the game paying monthly fees.

I'm not saying the pve system is perfect, I'm saying the IDEA was to fill a perceived and real need.

If you've read the forgotten realm books, most of the super duper heroes use gear they got when they were like lvl 3... or worse lvl 1, like drizzt the most famous of them all.  He's still using stuff he got when he was lvl 0.  Mind you it was twinky stuff, but he was in fact lvl 0, untrained completely.

I personally don't agree with gear fest, grind fest pve systems.  I definately wouldn't pay for the priviledge of providing some developer with their content.

WOW approaches a healthy balance.  In fact on paper their explanation in beta of how their pvp system was going to work sounded astounding.  If I remember correctly, you could take over villages, towns and capitol cities and thereby rule the territory until the other side kicked you out.  That sounded like the most innovative thing i'd ever heard of in a game to date.  Unfortunately they didn't implement that at all.   instead they did battlegrounds.

I never actually played halo, i've seen countless hours of gears of war, and had my friends talk about it on end.  It's got to be hugely popular if what i'm hearing is any indication.

imo if i wtfpwn  you in 2 seconds... ok what do i do for the other 4 hours i set aside to play?  that crap gets old and boring instantly with me.  However, if i have to setup an ambush to wtfpwn you because your'e carrying stolen documents I have to retrieve and make my way back through a dangerous forest to get back to my capitol city to deliver that to my commander, who then gives me a warhorse for my good deed, that'll never get old.

is my scenario in any game right now?  No [and why no one is hiring me as lead developer i don't know] but i'd enjoy it much more than "haha schooled you, i just wtfpwned you".

and thats "One man's opinion"(tm).

I notice a lot of people dis on people who want pve in a game.  Ignorantly they call them carebears.  When the whole idea of online play stemmed from people's desire to be able to play pen and paper games online without need to call 6 friends all the way over to your house.  To this day people play pen n paper games over the internet via text, imagine that.  And, I guarantee there are way more of them playing that way than those that sign up for a monthly shot at some dick camping their corpse for 3 hours, or some l33t dude  getting into a pissing contest.

The fact is most sane gamers actually pick games that they can not only play, but call up their friends and tell them what a great story and environment it is, not how some 13 yr old wtfpwned them all day.

This Fury game is trash imho.  Get off your lazy buts, save up 500 bucks and get a xbox 360 and play gears of wars, it's a much better game and it's already done.  Besides, xbox 360 is a tight system.  I personally don't have one.  If you are going to pay for the privilige of getting wtfpwned to the tune of $15.00/month, [ edited ]  let's just say you're stupid.

Let's put this into perspective: i write a program that has character models; fighting gameplay; some scenery and i'm DONE.  and i charge idiots 15.00 bucks a month for that?  dude that's what a 2 man job?  jump gate runs a whole mmorpg on 6 people, including the billing.  I don't have to provide any AI nor story.

you guys are sad.

And that's "One man's opinion"(tm).

The name Brad McQuaid and SOE actually, for me, brings negatives to mind.  I wouldn't purchase anything from them, nor pay for anything they have.  The only way I would deign to play something they made was by free trial.
