Not to be a killer here,  but Beta has been stated to be around Spring,  not open beta but beta,  so  as the devs have said time and time again,   just  keep posting, and keep in touch with the forum  and you may get a chance at beta

though if Closed beta is in spring,  open beta could most likely be in late fall,  to late winter  of this *or next * year

so I take its the main page ?   anyways I will try to get there,  yet school might or might not limit on how long I will be there so.. hopefully nothing really big will released in the first hour of chat :)

yes the game is still being produced by CME

Please note as well the game is still in production so things that the devs had said before may not appply,  and even if it has a WoW feel to it its still gonna have its own little stuff to it as well   And of course any mmo today would be considered Wow ish just because its so major in the MMO market right now that it would be impossible not to campaire it to WoW  in any of the features its like saying all WWII movies all have taken Ideas from Saving private ryan   when there where some before that had the same ideas,  but SPR used it more effectivly.

bad news Nu,  There will not be wraith in the first part of the game, of course there will be expansions where perhaps there could be a wraith character.  though at the moment at game release there will not be wraith. 

I do belive the currency that will be used in game is Naqadria  .. although trading will be used as well .. last I have heard of how currency will be used though was I think late last year .. although chances are they are keeping it unless if the devs say otherwise.. which I would doubt that they would change it

Actually there have been a few *as in like 2 or 3 * Actual screen shots that have been used by the game engine 

I agree,  or at least the SGW forums I don't know about the STW forums

this is what a community member on their main forum knows what is up... though I cannot speak for the ones that question what CME thinks of so and such since well.. I'm not part of CME lol 

1 they are probably going to aim it at well more then 1 audience one being the one you just discribed

2 they will be aiming it at the gaters*or stargate watchers*, people that play mmo's and people that are new to MMO's *although they are probably aiming at more*

3 stargate for a start   there is a lack of modern MMO's would you not say 

4 the game has a low level cap *200 hours* which is well.. the level cap and I am certain that  there will be somthing to do even after that is reached *I am thinking at the moment pvp and puzzles*

 5 can't really say that can I 

6 they really have not talked about it but chances are there will be other methods such as the rings and other things too, of course this is specualtion since they *they being the devs* have not really said anything about it

7 once again this game is in early production so there is not that much info on that,  although i would bet that there will be a custimazation chance for all

8 once again the game is still early in life altough there are at least one class thats not combate dependant *scientist* although several other classes can be custimized too so .. at the moment we really don't know much about it 

9 can't really say that either, although at the moment there is a 200  hour level cap on the game thats what i can say for a certainty and well .. they want the game so that a person can re rolll. and see the story on another sides view

10 can't really say anything about that either

sorry but this game was  just out of pre production in feb so really we as a community does not know much although I am certain that Scepter will respond some time .. *as in probably right before I post *   with hopfully more info  but pretty much thats the summery of what we as a community on the SGW forums knows about the game at the moment

 

At the moment its not in pre production but actually  production,  although since its early  in pre production we still do not know if it is or if it is not going to be a sand box game or a game like WoW .. although I personally think it will be a little of both but things do change,   hope you will like what the Devs. decide when they  choose what they will do with the game play :)

Actually as this is pre beta.. heck the artwork itself is from pre producion.. give them time..

then why do you post here ? its kinda Hipocritical wouldn't you say, posting in a games forums although you don't want anything to do with it ..   and bad news .. they are cancelling BSG

Instances would rid the problem of gate camping for some of the planets .. cause otherwise who wants to get ganged when only trying to do a level 5 quest.. not many I would say..

not really,  what I just said was that there could be instances that would stop gate camping with instances

Indeed,  for if the game does not sell well enough then there would be no need for talking about a expansion  

that being said  That would be awsome if there was ships in game with a expansion   but at the moment don't worry about the ships  worry about getting the game done and with as few errors as possible 

Actually that statment can be disproven,  although most kids my age *15* would prefer a FPS  some would like a traditional  combat system.. and some like me really don't care what it is only if its done correctly :)

Actually if you think of it  wouldn't the Asguard be the pet masters while the gou'ald would be the jack of all trades ? thats what I thought until now..   and I don't think that the Gou'ald would get a spawnable game at the moment.. more like I think 2 or 3 minions... if they get the ability to have minions..

PvP.  This would be a great game for land control or should I say planet control.  They are always talking on the show about how X faction control's Y planet.  This is the perfect universe to be able to take and hold planets for resources.  Lets say that the Free Jaffa nation control's a planet that has a large supply of Naquada.  They can then produce higher quality staff weapons for their warriors.  If the SGC takes control of the planet they can produce special rounds using the same resource.  There are hundreds of possibilities.

The PVP idea I like  although the economy Idea I somwhat disagreee with..   .. and the only thing I disagree with on the economy side is that the scientist class is a class that is suppost to  be the crafters of the game .. and well.. wheres the use of crafters when there is nothing to craft  its kinda like if they make the game a pre sg1 season 1 game ...with the intent of you guarding the gate.. which I think most if not all of the people here would say taht would not be fun 

I see your point about scientists being useless but I probably never would have laid out the classes like they did.  I more then likely would have done a game based on skills instead of class/lvls.  I think it would have worked out perfectly.  Look at carter.  While she is a formidable soldier, she is also a brilliant scientist.  I would have had science skills (Carter), language skills (Jackson) and then had a good many weapons skills.  Fire arms, staff weapons, melee combat, ribbon devices, etc.  Then instead of having a class you would join a faction and that would dictate the technology you started with.  Start as a jaffa and you start with high skills in staff weapons.  That doesn't mean you couldn't learn to use firearms if you wanted to (In the later seasons teal'c uses a firearm a lot more then he uses a staff weapon) it would just be a skill the player would have to train up to use effectively. 

thats a cool idea there with the skills instead of class\levels  but then of course I thiink that the game might be going that way  because for all the classes you are still given a choice on what skills you will get to use to an extent..  a archelogist isn't gonna be a sharp shooter but with certain skills he might be able to shoot a p90 without missing  the target most of the time

I was originally very sad to hear that you were going to be able to reach cap so fast but then I gave it some thought.  Reaching the cap fast doesn't bother me if there is still plenty to do once I reach it.  This is why I REALLY hope they do some kind of PvP that includes being able to control planets for resources for your faction.

yeah if you think of it .. its only the level cap.. which as you said would not actually mean the end of the Quest and also PVP.. which if you think of it would be a lot better haveing a fullly maxed character in a month so that you can PvP .. then a Character that you would at least need a year to level up.. let alone gain enough materials so that you can sucessfully PvP

My opinion is that a lot of the success of this game is going to depend on the amount of "End game content".  If people hit the cap and then there is nothing left to do to give them a sense of accomplishment they will stop playing.  If I am playing a member of the SGC and I can go raid g'ould planets to PvP and gain control of it or gain materials to help my faction then I am going to keep playing.  If I am playing a member of the SGC and the only thing there is to do after I hit cap is run around killing stuff with no goal then I probably won't last very long.  I am PRAYING they go with the first.

Definatly they should go with your first idea because well.. who loves running around killing things in MMO's.. not that many.. 
but yes  .. end Game content I think is a biggie for the Developers for this game ..not to mention the fact that they made the game so that they  really want people to reroll their characters so that you can see the other side of the conflicts.. which it in itself is still high on content .... not to mention that there probably will be Expansions that would allow the players that have reached the level cap new content.. although there will be a wait for the expansions it is still better then nothing :)
