Things to do while waiting for SWTOR...
General Discussion « Star Wars: The Old Republic 7/27/11 5:30:21 PM
Me and a buddy played through the co-op of Portals 2 and now working on Hunted: demon forge...Portals 2 is the much better game of the two... OH well...will look for more games to play... |

Moving in combat typically only has the effect of gathering the mob in closer so your swings can effect multiple mobs at a time...Your combos get more involved but it's basically the same all the way through...your beginning combos will require you to hit the combo-hit the direction involved...but some combos require mutliple direction presses...some even up to three and four that I have seen... |

Thanks for the info...I guess the only way to really find out is just buy the game and be done with it...Hell, I have played everything else, why not AoC.

I do alot of work on the road. So when it came time to replace my computer I went with a laptop. My laptop is a Toshiba SLI2. It has SLI 8600 vid cards with duo2 2.1 processor and 2 gigs of ram...I am going to upgrade the ram soon to 3gigs but the problem I am having is...In beta the game was crashing to desktop...A LOT...it was to the point of being unplayable...my concern is buying the game and it still being CTD a lot. Anyway...just trying to see what you guys think.

I guess the real interesting thing will be what 4.0 in the pen and paper world bring to the MMO world, If anything. I have not done any real research into it, but maybe someone else has that can spawn an answer. |

I also came from wow and enjoy the game. I have been playing a rogue and a cleric and thinking of trying out a bard at some point. Not sure tho. |

I first started playing DDO back when it first came out, and my chief complaint was..."were the hell are the grinding spots??" Well they have those now...there are outdoor areas you can go to and some indoor areas that allow you to rack up kills and find rares and find certain locations... Now I know that is nothing compared to what wow offers but in the end my need for grinding spots dwindled fast...and I finally realized what I was looking for in a game. So to DDO I go. The sad thing is tho....I still keep my Wow account active, Just in case.

I tell you what, I logged into wow the other day and got with some friends to do a Quest for my druid in sunken temple. It took us nearly 45 minutes to get everyone to the zone then another 15 minutes to get ready. Last night I logged into DDO with a buddy of mine and we started up a group and ran the Shan-To-Kor quest line. It took less than 15 minutes to get a group together and meet up at the door. One of the things I like about Wow is running instances. The DDO quests are like running instances all the time. It doesn't take long to get from point A to point B. Granted when I get on a bird in Wow to fly 15 minutes from one side of the continent to the other, that gives me time to go to the restroom and get something to drink and snack on. But it gets to a point that what I really enjoy is running instances... and that is what DDO really is...one big instance. So I will give it a good showing and see what comes of it..

Pc Gamer article: First 10 mins of WAR are Abysmal
General Discussion « WAR (Warhammer Online) 5/08/08 10:10:56 AM
Actually that article is from CVG/PC Zone not PC Gamer. But we get the idea. |

Well I for one am having problems that I can't seem to figure out. You see, I get started playing and all of a sudden I CTD... It did it for the PVP version and it's doing it for the Open Beta version. I have not been able to really test anything past Tortage... But the Devs have been trying to fix my problem. <shrug>
oh well I am still going to be playing WAR when it comes out.
Currently playing: EQ2, DDO, WOW, WWII online.

Wow what a nice helpful respectful response. I am so proud of you. You must have practiced long and hard to be such a jerk.
I had this Happen to me too, very frustrating to have this happen beta or not. Part of the process of testing is also testing how safe your money or belongings are and you obviously got hit with a nice bug. That would really suck to have happen in the live game. Too bad you didn't get a better response from the devs. |

I might use it to check things out, I have not played since they put mortars in the game...Will check out mortars... |

Battle of the SCI-FI MMO's, which one will you play?
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 11/22/07 2:26:08 AM
If done right, I will be playing Star Trek Online. But, as said before... IP's generally don't do well... I guess I will just have to wait and see... |

The game's the best it's ever been.
General Discussion « World War II Online 11/22/07 2:23:37 AM
The game isn't all that bad really...I for one do not play full time anymore but did back in the day when it was nothing to see Opel trucks loaded with troops rolling into towns all over the map just to stir up some trouble. The problem with the old way the game was played is that it was not as realistic as they were trying to make it. The only problem I have with the game right now is the fact that were still playing up to 42. It took forever just to get mortars in the game... |

Good luck in the land of Vanguard. I hope you enjoy your time with the game. |

The thing I didn't like about the game was the fact you stayed in one city and all the quests were instanced. There was one or two areas that were outside but it was still instanced for you and your party. But give it a try and see for yourself..you might like it. |
