Warhammer Online : Age of Reckoning: Preview Videos!
News Discussion « General Discussion 1/31/07 3:48:52 AM
While I have no doubt this game will be what WoW should have been, I'm still not interested in the hilariously disproportioned cartoonish graphics. I think I'll wait for PoTBS and then migrate to Age of Badass....I mean Conan.

While Darkfall's graphics are a bit archaic compared to other offerings on the horizon, if the gameplay is solid, it should be a blast. Regardless, I wouldn't be so quick to condemn Pirates of the Burning Sea. I unabashedly guarantee you that the ship to ship combat in PotBS makes the naval warfare in the DF video look silly. In addition, they postponed release to include avatar combat, so that means boarding parties and face to face combat. I'm sure you'll find PotBS to have a great deal of depth, possibly even more so than DF. None-the-less, I'll be trying both.

Age of Conan: Launch Date Set for October 30th, 2007

Originally posted by bongo123Well, then we can agree that we don't want to play on the same servers. You do realize that AoC is rated Mature, which nullifies your illogical argument outright, as if it didn't already contain a hasty generalization fallacy. The majority of people who play PC games are not kids, and the majority of people who play games on the XBox 360 are not adults. What's pathetic is you limited grasp of the English language. If you want to say "kids play PC games to you know," you'll need to use the form "too," which means: also. |

Age of Conan: Launch Date Set for October 30th, 2007
News Discussion « General Discussion 1/25/07 10:43:17 PM
Is it really so hard to believe that PC users wouldn't want to share servers with XBox 360 users? Remember, this game is one of the first Mature-rated mmorpgs with a large fan-base. Consoles are cheaper, and, like it or not, their user-base is generally considered to be more juvenile.

Age of Conan: Launch Date Set for October 30th, 2007

I don't mind a little polishing, but if this delay is due to Funcom wanting to port the game to XBox 360 and release both versions at the same time, I and many others will be sorely disappointed. The majority of players following AoC don't even want XBox 360 users on the same servers.

General: Spotlight: Playing the Opposie Sex

If your secret desire is to be a female and curry the favor of males, then hey.......whatever floats your gondola, but lets not confuse the issue by applying such simplistic reasoning to it as, "I like to see pixelated chick butts." Unless you clearly state in your bio or at the beginning of every grouping that you are, in fact, a male, you have more insidious desires and objectives. |

Originally posted by StraddenI was under the impression this game would be released in Q2 of 2007, which starts a bit earlier than summer. Did you come up with "Due to launch in summer 2007" based on something one of the developers said? |

Originally posted by SabbicatI really wish they were including player housing with release, but as long as it's part of an expansion, it's better that they finish the other aspects of the game first to hit their launch window. |

Originally posted by mbblade You're absolutely right.................who cares that the modestly priced e6600 defeats every AMD processor except the new Quad Core in EVERY benchmark there is. An AMD FX-62 is what; around a grand.....and the e6600 slaps it around like a small child. I've been using AMD processors for many years, but the proof is in the pudding foolish hater. The Price/Performance ratio blows away anything AMD has, or will have, for at least the next few years. |

A word of advice.....................if you can hold out until Q2, which starts around March or so, prices on Conroe processors (Intel Core 2 Duo Desktop) will drop significantly when the second line of Core 2s from Intel come out. For instance, the current cheapest price for an e6600 is at Microcenter OEM for $269.99, or around $275 after shipping. People tend to prefer the 6600 because the next one down, the 6400, only has 2 MB of L2 Cache to the 6600s 4 MB. While you can get a 6400 for a 'lil under $200.00 right now, when Q2 rolls around, the 6600s will be around $220. Even as a long time AMD supporter, I wouldn't suggest anything from them in the near future. Have fun building your comp!

The original Uncharted Waters was a great game. I haven't played Voyage Online, but I am generally against games where the level of achievement is determined by purchasing top tier gear at an in-game item mall. Since neither are a viable option to me, I'll simply wait for Pirates of the Burning Sea to be released, which I'm sure will make both look like what they are: cheap Oriental garbage.

AoC all the way......................I'll watch my cartoons on TV thank you very much. And the ones I watch aren't rated TEEN either.
