Joined this fleet yesterday. Seems pretty nice and friendly with ventrilo.

It is well structured and I would advise it to any1 :)

Cheers!

It looks like a squared splash of grey on a bigger splash of blue. Colour scheme could of been better :/

Maybe there should be an option to chose skins

The Blog system was great at first, but now it is full of fake blogs. It just looks like an advertisement window.

What I would call real blog posters, don't post that often, so maybe the suggestion in the topic could help enhance the blog system.

I'm also against bail-outs.

But think from a "selfish" point of view, about the impact that hundreds of thousands or millions of people losing their houses will affect the economy and your life.

Banks will take over more houses and try to sell them, driving the real-estate prices further down; and crime might go up (when people lose a big percentage of their quality of life).

I'm thinking about a state loan at a discount rate to help pay the morgage, while the crisis lasts.

Although it also creates a bad incentive and is prejudicial on people who were more cautious and can make the payments.

and like eve-online, the newbish items should also be sold by npcs. That way, inflationist monkeys can't take control of the newb items market.

It is important when you start a game, to have some stability by buying items at normal prices; instead of leaving it to free market and having the possibility of sky rocketing prices.

Also NPC wholesalers buying items is ok by me, as long as they are bought at a very low price. That way you can always sell your junk (which might not happen in a total free market, if there were no buy orders).

free market all the way babeh :)

I want 95% of all items in-game to be manufactured by players and players alone. And no simplistic AH system.

It generates a lot of in-game depth and other ways to profit, besides the more standard ones.

AoC is all about PvP and people shouldn't complain about it. Instead, get organized and do something about it (join a guild, get some friends to lvl together, try to avoid hot spots, etc).

I can understand how constantly getting ganked can make the game experience suck for a player. This is where PvE servers should come into play.

Instead of dissing PvP servers, try to get funcom to create PvE servers. No reason why both can't co-exist (if funcom so wishes).

I think they are going to wait until close to release to announce that the game is going to be delayed around 2 weeks or something like that; and then announce the end of NDA to apease gamers.

And I think an open beta or NDA lift before launch is very important in MMORPGS for the simple reason that most MMORPGs launch with lots of bugs and without a lot of the promised features. So I think buyers get scammed because they are promised one thing and buy another.

This might or might not be the case with AoC, but this stigma over MMORPGs touches all games belonging to that genre imo :)

The journal was a very good read.

But as others pointed out; wtf do they care about other games? Not cool.

The writing had an angry vibe :/

Hard to tell if that was sarcasm or not...heh.

It is :)

Wow!!

Such vision and breath taking inovations......

I think it is next-generation, because people who will try it are being born now.

Couldn't help it :(

I got into WoW's open beta and I never purchased fileplanet's subscription, or any other for that matter.

I don't understand why you stayed the first month. You should of just gotten the trial.

Anyways, very nice thread title :)

You just reply and ask whatever you want :/

Makes some sense Jager.

Beta testers know how things work and have optimized what they want to play. New players will have to get used to things.

Now, this isn't a reason for having open beta.

You should expect it Fion.

Don't forget they still have to produce the dvds and ship them all over the world. So the game has to be finished some time prior to launch.

And I played WoW's open beta and it ran great. I saw no bugs and no latency problems :/ Made me buy the game at least.

It is a shame if I don't get to play the beta, but I'm pretty sure that reading several beta testers reports will be almost just as good.

As Recant said, WoW has become the benchmark in MMORPGs.

So with many ppl only having played WoW, its natural that some ppl will refer to another MMORPG as being a WoW clone with some more X different features.

Doesn't mean its correct, but it shouldnt be seen as a degrading fact either. WoW was pretty fun for a few months :)

No game can steal every other's markets.

Also, for a MMORPG to have the same type of success as WoW, is a HUGEEEE IF.

Ps - I dont mind paying fees. I feel they are needed and well spent if the game is good and is adequately expanded and taken care of.

If there was a better game than eve in the list i would vote for it. Sucks that it hasnt come out yet.

Nice to see AoC win the most antecipated game of 2007. Really looking forward to try it.
