AoC will be fine - now please stop trolling
General Discussion « Age of Conan 8/26/09 12:10:08 AM
I think AOC in somebody else's hands would have a good chance of making it to the top. But while Funcom are pulling the strings it has a less than a cat in hells chance. Funcom drain the fun from the game as a leach drains blood. It has been said so many times before, Funcom are killing their own game.
There are no bad games, just bad owners. :D |

Expansion enough for you to go back and play again?
General Discussion « Age of Conan 8/25/09 12:37:17 AM
The expansion seems to be just more of the same but in a different shade of green, the game will still be very boring. Also it will be made by Funcom, I don't really want anything more to do with this arrogant company, their stupidity goes beyond comprehension. |

It's a strange thing. After a major update, slowly over time, the player base seems to increase, more and more new players arriving each day. Then they release a new major update and players start to leave/quit, then the whole process starts again. The message here for funcom would be to stop releasing major updates, keep it to small patches/updates, that way they may hold on to their customers all of the time and not some of the time. |

Just imagine if we had no choice, that there was no other MMOG but WoW. Nightmare.

This looks to be more of the same with different graphics, if the fundamentals of game play stay the same then it doesn't matter how much content Funcom add, it will remain a very boring game (no fun). |

Looking forward to the patch being deployed, around noon they say. Looks to have some very nice fixes and additions. I'm glad they are finally doing something with that awful mailbox. :D |

Are you trying to tell me that you have played Warhammer from release and you don't even like the game? |

I like the crafting system, it is simple enough to be fun and not the horrible clunky systems you find in AOC and Aion. The new patch that is on the test server atm, seems to fix many things, it sort of shows that the devs haven't given up and are still trying to please everyone. I love warhammer, but I am fairly new to the game, so only time will tell. I have yet to notice this shortage of players that I keep hearing about. |

And why does AOC and WAR "not work" ?? they dont have any more problems than the million other mmo games out there at the minute and dont quote me the gliches and bugs because that shows you just played the game for the 30 days at launch because there is hardley any noticable ones in there now and i dont think guild wars is perfect peps only play it because its free after buying the box
AOC is only held back by its creators and Warhammer is one of the best games I have ever played, so I agree both work very well, or at least as well as the rest of the running. |

why not wait 2-4 weeks after launch then. Pretty sure WAR and AoC were getting many negative posts in the first 2 weeks of launch.
This is good advise, also 2-4 weeks after launch you could pick the game up for £1.99 with a free teddy bear pet, spare set of inflatable wings and a mushroom mount, not to mention a years free subscription. :D |

Originally posted by grandpagamer Its good you have the other two to choose from then, at least you will for awhile as i look for Warhammer to start closing servers soon and when Aion releases i think it will sound the crack of doom for Warhammer.
Haha, they said this about WoW just before AOC was released, then they said this again about AOC just before Warhammer was released, it's the same old story but with different graphics. All we can do is wait and see, nothing is ever over until the big fat rich person pulls his/her investment. :D |

The problem here is that people aren't understanding the defnition of fail.
I would say that the game has failed when the company behind the game starts to pull money and resources away from the game.
The thing with Aion is the timing. It is being released at a time were most people are looking for something new to play. |
|
|
I look at it like this......... If AOC, Warhammer and Aion were all to go public on the same day, and I had to choose one game to play, then Aion would be my last choice. |
|
|
Will Aion fail just like WAR and AoC?
At the moment taken from time in the game I would say yes, only difference I can see is that it will fail faster than AOC or Warhammer. There will be less gripes about the game but many people may leave the game early never to return. There again I would love to be proven wrong. :) |

Its whether you put up with a few bugs or have the pants bored off you. Difficult choice. |
