@hovis8, Since day one, 5 toons, levels range from the top to bottom, no real problems as things are getting better, any unfixed bugs can wait, as I am having the time of my life in the game as it stands.

A game in which the basic stats don't work, where the raid instances are 10-years-old in design and bugged to hell, where there is no PVP system, sieges are broken, servers are empty and there are bugs, exploits and game engine problems rampant, seriously does not deserve to have any fanboys.

It is a only fair to have a “AOC is a great game” post alongside the “AOC sucks” post.  Potential new players will then see that it doesn’t swing either way and make their own judgement.

Fans of AOC do not make a lot of posts, because they know they will be flamed for it, the other reason is that they are busy playing the game.  So the doomsayers do seem to have the market when it comes to the amount of posts being made about AOC.

Oh and your original post was SO constructive. I mean, you gave some awesome examples of why the game is so great.

Here's my constructive post.

 The in-game GM's are horrible. The mounts are horrible. There's little-to-no armor diversity when we were promised "1500 armor sets!" No DX 10, no pvp system, promises of game mechanics like power points that they throw at us and then never speak of again. (Probably hoping that we forgot about them.) Promising 2 patches a week and then never even doing that, and now they're lucky if they roll out one a week. Funcom doesn't even communicate with the playerbase, they really don't care about their customers...at all.

There you go, at least now I'm being constructive.

That is the point of this post, they shouldn't  believe you and they shouldn't believe me, they should make up their own minds, you are not happy with it, I am.

But to have nothing but doom thrown at them, they might just start to believe it.

I have been watching this forum for some time now and have noticed the same names cropping up in posts whom spread their personal fantasies which bare little resemblance to the truth.

So basically, I’m offering a little advice to those thinking of playing, and that is, do not listen to these challenged self appointed shepherds, the game is fairly cheap to buy and even cheaper if you can get yourselves a buddy-key.  Give it a whirl, you may love it. 

Quarterly financials are out, and Funcom actually announced number of AoC customers per yesterday. As they also lost 800k sold copies I assume the number 415 000 refers to actual subscribers atm. Quite surprising that they announced this as August 14 definately is part of third quarter 2008.

415 000 subscribers shows AOC is anything but dead, its only just getting started.
