I would take a guess that this is the same people that make Dungeons and dragons online as they seem to have same weird ideas when it comes to the human shape.

Human characters for instance look like stick insects, arms and legs to long with thin tubular body and as for the rubber legs............well, I think they could have taken a bit more care when creating the animation for this, atm it looks quite moronic.

I like my character to look the part especially if I am going to spend days questing for good looking gear for it.

There is also very little customization, most characters are running around looking like clones.  I would suppose that they would have to write a whole new game to bring the character generator up to date, and that would be the reason they have not already done it.

I would sub to LOTRO tomorrow if they would make changes to one thing.

The character generator.  It's so old and tacky. It doesn't have anywhere near enough options, and the final result  is a plastic looking distorted blob thing with rubber legs.

If they brought the character generator up to date so that I could make a reasonable looking character I would subscribe, and I would very likely subscribe for a very long time, because the rest of the game is very good.

Gankfest.

Aion is a strange game, you like it for a while but then wake up one morning hating it,  tripping over things in your rush to cancel your account.

It has to be said that apart from the graphics there are several free to play mmo's that walk all over Aion.

You have to feel sorry for these people, what they will do for 15 seconds of fame. :)

soon EVE will get you all

Eve is not a game.  Eve is a job.

I think people who can only see the next level get bored very fast no matter what the game.  There is a lot more to a game than just getting to the next level.

What game of this type doesn't involve grind?

The one thing I didn't like about LOTRO was the characters, very little choice when creating and once created seem to be made of rubber and looked awful.

All these types of game will die off eventually, there is always something new just around the corner.  I think you just have to enjoy the moment.

I thinks it's about time NCsoft added "Wow" to its list of profanity.

I went to try to find Aion last night at a few places.  Everywhere I went they were sold out and everyone told me the same thing.  They haven't seen a crush on a PC game like this for years.  Not that I put too much emphasis on Xfire but Aion this morning is almost at 50% of WoW numbers and I bet it climbs much higher.  I wonder how many millions of worldwide subs Aion took from WoW.  Those people didn't just magically appear to play Aion.  Someone lost subs and I bet its mostly WoW.

This thing is bigger than both of us baby. :)

i always play the heal class and I've read around the net and it seems like the healer class in this game is super overpowered, and that sort of sounds good, except im waiting for the nerf bat to swing.  Also if the healer class is so popular i will lose that groups really want me thing that makes being the healer enjoyable.

Anyone who has played the healer agree or disagree that they are over powered at the moment?

Not overpowered at all, they are powerful enough to just about manage their solo quests.

What I have seen of pvp as a healer shows that they seem to be able to hold their own but would lose to a more skilful player.

Whoever came up with this release date for NA for Aion is a genius.  It's right when everything worth playing is stale and anything really exciting isn't scheduled to be released for months.

I have to agree, the choice of release date was very well planned, unlike their choice for the amount of servers needed.

The only other game that holds any interest for me is Runes of magic atm.

There are those who can't play and are rightly upset about it.

Then there are those who can play whom tell those who can't play not to cry about it.

Human nature.

grrrrrrrrr

Yes, its gone down as usual.

We must be playing a different Perfect world, because the one I played was horrible. I mean Runes of magic is 1000 times better than PW and that is also free to play.  So comparing Aion to Perfect world is just plain silly.

Because I wanted to play it and now I can as much as I want. YAY! I influenced my own decision and made a choice to buy a game that I wanted to play! Woot!

/Cheers to all AION players who pre-ordered because "They" wanted too!

But.....but......You told me I had to pre-order Aion or else you would come around and bite my hamsters head off.

Perfect world owns aion, pretty much sums up what these other guys are trying to say

I have played both, that's how I know you are joking.

It has to be Runes of magic, seems to be the best of the lot, in fact it is a very good game.

I found Perfect world and DDO to be awful games, best staying clear of those. :)
