Yet the UK really only has two schools of recognition. Over here we've got the Ivy League, the Public Ivies, and dozens of small private college that are also top tier. But onto your original question (and just a tip, if you want a polite response, don't insult your potential respondees.)

The size of your country compared to the size of the UK may have something to do with the amount of schools of recognition. Additionally schools of recognition is more a matter of establishing yourself as a place for educated people, and since USA is the superpower in the world it kind of automatically becomes the obvious place for anyone with half a brain to go. I don't think the quality of your school system got anything to do with the amount of schools of recognition in your country.

  • A big increase in the monsters AI. The zerging mindless zombies looking like different animals are kind of annoying and make PvE so dumb. I would like to see the enemy NPCs organize ambushes against you when you're traveling in a small group, flee when they are outnumbered, call for help if it can be done, run and call for help, charge at the obviously weakest characters and skipping that big dumb brute in the front, go in bigger groups to avoid getting ambushed. To mention a few things. Simply make the enemy NPCs act in a way that make them seem living and in a way that will make PvE an actual challenge and not just the typical tank-and-spank PvE.
  • Logic. No I don't want permadeath, but I want one or two hits causing you to collapse. Hitting your head causing your head to fly off, hitting you in the leg causing to be crippled and so on. Note that I would only want this in a PvE game as it in a PvP game would pretty much be the very incarnation of powercreep gone too far. In a PvE game this will however make the game much more challenging. Instead of having some form of healers you got crowd control and the fact that the enemies also die in with a few hits, combine the two and don't be dumb and you should be able to kill the NPCs. Combined with a better AI this makes the game much much more challenging, and combined with a quite sever death penalty PvE will be much better.
  • Completely player-driven worlds. No NPC standing around and buying Bear Snot any more, only players. The problem is that this kind of game only would work in either a smaller game or with a big playerbase. A completely player-driven world would be so much better as it would give a feeling of life to the game, a feeling that this is actually a world, a world we are creating. Additionally the community would probably be tied together much tighter since they had to cooperate, there's no other way to accomplish anything.

Those three points are the ones I'd love to see in a PvE MMORPG. A world where the players create and do everything that's being done and a world with seemingly living enemies wanting to kill you. Preferable would also be if the game was placed in a different world than your typical fantasy one.

  • The skill system from GW should be kept or modified only very slightly.
  • The same equal PvP system, no advantages should be given thanks to level or equipment.
  • Balance. Having 3-6 balancers actively playing the game and keeping it balanced would make the game a billion times better.

That's the top three ones, but I got some other ones such as:

  • Auction house. I sell almost everything to the merchant because I really hate standing around in Spamadan, even if that means I get 200 gold instead of 30k.
  • Crafting system. Crafting would make the economy more living as well as make the game less NPC based and more player based, which I like. Implemented without an auction house it will however just be annoying and stupid.Fuck factions. I liked GW because the community wasn't split in any way: one server and one faction. In WoW the constant problem was that I either picked another faction or server than my friends causing us to not play together. In GW that would not be a problem. Additionally it creates a kind of hate similar to the one that nationalism create, a feeling of we and them. And that causes the community to only split up even more. Additionally it would be dumb in HA- or TA-similar arenas as you would then - logically - face the opposing faction only, which would make you able to avoid some of the best players. Factions feel like an old and dumb RPG cliché that serves no point in a GW game.Constant teaming. Allowing healers to be healers, supporters to support, damage dealers to deal damage is good. Without constant teaming you get a game where the healers have to deal damage (and still be unpopular), supporters have to deal damage and heal it since supporting only yourself isn't enough, damage dealers have to have selfheals. It's dumb and it causes the classes to become unfocused, not to mention that the balancing becomes significantly harder. Always having to team also allows bigger creativity when it comes to build making and combinations of builds. Without constant teaming GW would be dumbed down, and the skill system would lose a lot of it's charm.Restricted PvP. PvP in GW was always an equal fight where the outcome were determined by skill or the team setup, and that was done by always having restricted PvP. In open world PvP you typically don't setup a team previously meaning that part is reduced and as the size of the battle increases a lone players skill becomes increasingly insignificant, instead the determining factor becomes numbers: the side that's bigger will win, simply because all other factors are reduced to almost 0 due to the size; as long as the differences in size are fairly small the other defining factor will be how balanced one team is. Simply put: it's just luck. You got lucky and got many on your side, you got lucky and got a balanced team. No skill, no creativity only luck. A small portion of luck will always be present everywhere, but when luck is the only factor that determines the victories side it's no longer a challenge, it's no longer fun, it's no longer a GW game.Better mob AI. You run in so that the red circles are inside a big bubble and all of a sudden they all charge towards you. That they then pick the weakest target and so on is nice, but it's still not very challenging in any way - it's too predictable. To make PvE truly fun the mobs AI needs to be improved. Clever use of skills, running when your outnumbered, calling for allies would all be good.

Think that's about it. I think. In all honesty I'm not entirely sure I think GW2 should be GW2 and not just a bigger expansion: GW got so much that needs to be kept for sequel that the game pretty much just becomes the same but with some additional features. GW2 should just be an improved GW, without any very big changes, and that is more along a expansion. I'll still look forward to GW2, but I won't try to get my hopes up as I believe it won't be as good as I want it to be.

They look like Kiss. Only slightly more ridiculous. The stage is overdone, to say the least.

I would make a flash game with some friend during my spare time so the actual money input was nonexistent then I would release it on Xbox Live Arcade. Of course I would make a game that would have awesome multiplayer so everyone would buy it. And then I would be as rich as The Behemoth are. I would of course release Tetris if I'd came up with it and done it myself, but now some other guy came up with it quite a lot of years ago... And I think I'd need rights to publish it too. So in the end that'd probably turn out expensive.

My first MMO was Runescape, but since that doesn't really count my first MMO was WoW. And no, it's definitely not my favorite MMO, in all honesty I think WoW is a horrible game in so many ways. To answer your plus question: no. I'm enjoying GW greatly and that wasn't my first MMO, counting from when I started playing it seriously it's probably my third or fourth MMO actually.

But as for a favored item setup, a great deal of questions come up in all MMOs that have items:
A) How much of a character's power comes from items?
B) How should items effect a character, especially equipment?
C) How in depth should crafting be for items?  What percent of the items in a game should be made from crafting?

  • A) None at all. The armor is only there to be shiny and make you look awesome.
  • B) Nothing except for the visual effect. And possible and preferably a difference in how the different weapons work.
  • C) Pretty in-depth with a lot of different armors. You start with an armor you've chosen and then the rest of the armor is bought from other players, so 100%.

That is how I personally would like to see it being made.

that's a pretty dumb idea actually. alot of people find finding that super awesome sword the best part of playing MMOs.

"LOLOLOL I GOT MY LEVEL OVER 9000 LEET SOWRD. Now what?"

Lucky for you the developers just implemented a new dungeon in the latest update! The new dungeon is the old dungeon but in different colors(!) with the same bosses but they now do slightly more damage and got slightly more health, and of course have a different color(!). There you can now get a super leet sword that's over over 9000. And when you get that there will always be a new dungeon...

And to OP: that's how GW is really. And I love it too. That's one of the things WoW did so bad: your character looks really bad if it doesn't have epic gear, and then it will almost always be mismatched pieces of different sets. Looks mean a lot, and it's kind of disappointing to see that the character you've put 1000+ hours into looks horrible because you've not managed to get a full set. WoW would really have been improved if you could choose skin and then add stats to it, while still having epic skins of course.

Disregarding WoW however, as I said looks mean a lot. People will put money into looking good and as long as there's epic expensive armor to get it will be a motivation. If the stats are exactly the same is insignificant really since you'll still have shiny new epic gear that no one else got. That you then don't automatically become a better player because of it isn't as important as you still look like a better player, and a hawter one too.

I like the idea personally. You remove the unfair and idiotic superiority given to players that simply got no lives and favor players that are good, regardless of how much they play. Having played a lot shouldn't by itself be enough to make you better, only skill should do that. If the game has PvP this is pretty much a must since the way to PvP is balance, and differences in gear will make PvP unbalanced and less a matter of what it should be - fair competition where the winner wins by skill.

As a final note your question ("Would you play, or miss collecting gear?") is kind of wrong since you will still have different gear to collect, most likely even more than before, only this time you do it because you'll look better - better as in hawter and better as in a better player.

If the rest of the game was good yes. The two aspects he present I find to be rather insignificant if the rest of the game was good enough to compensate for it.

Some of the funnier comments:

Years later,? their decision to divorce will come from the wife claiming their home feels like dead space.

I do, however, believe in Blood Sugar Sex Magik.

I'm with this guy.

I'll have to agree with that too. Especially since the original movie is unavailable for my country.

If you as a Canadian don't have anything to talk about how is anyone else supposed to have something to talk about?

If you don't spend 100+ hours it's not even going to be half-finished so anything below that is impossible. And if I had the tools, an idea and belief in my project I would spend 100+ hours.

I am kinda happy with playing pure Mesmer in the campaign, to be honest.
After spending a ton of thinking and not knowing what to do, I decided to "just take Monk". But not a single skill I got was of any interest. Sure I could go for Smiting Prayers ... but then again I have Domination (?) very high and with the abilities there I usually have enough to do.

I know. I'm probably going to rewrite this guide to make it better in many ways, especially the one you described: the fact that some professions really... shouldn't use a secondary because of the lack of synergies. Mesmer is a profession that on it's own does what it's intended to do very well and because of the lack of other professions that do similar things going Mesmer only is typically good.

1. Liberal Quakers - Religious Society of Friends (100%)
2. Theravada Buddhism (99%)
3. Mahayana Buddhism (98%)
4. Unitarian Universalism (98%)
5. Jainism (93%)
6. Taoism (92%)

Never heard about Liberal Quakers but I suppose they fit decently. Knew from before that Buddhism and Taoism were pretty close to what I believe in.

Guild Wars. Most likely because I've been playing only that game for a long time now. Before that it was probably the character creation system in CoH/CoV, never found the game very fun but the character creation was just really good.

General builds... are general. I'm not calling the imbad as in underpowered. I just find it to be inflexible and a bore to run. It may have alot of utility in vanquishing 6player + areas (/w 4 players energy management goes into the landfill, you might as well be playing a brick,) but really, all you need is a saabway or a 3 necro discord to carry you.
The problems begin when you move on to the HM missions or dungeons. The group may need someone to slot imagined burden to snare a couple of runners, or frozen soil or edge of extinction to keep those dwarves in EotN from resurrecting. Necrotic traversal was also useful in several occasions. Imbagon wouldn't have been much help in those situations, ergo a paragon cannot survive as a primary character if it's the only tool in your shed.
One final note, imbagon works far better when hero/henching than with groups. Heroes can clump together well enough for your shouts to affect the majority of them. Groups, even reasonably organized ones will usually spread out to the point where only 5 will be within your shout bubble at any given time, and that's not enough to keep that build running.

Assuming you run an Imbagon with one pure healer that's 6 open slots. 6 slots that can run almost any bar they want thanks to the amazing defense an Imbagon provides. No the Imbagon in itself may not have much help to add, but thanks to it's amazing defense it frees up others to take that. The Imbagon is so good because it's a team game - you don't have to do everything yourself. Additionally with all PvE-only skills you can use them if it's additional utility you want. And to your final note, Imbagons works just as good in player groups as in H/H groups. Just because a player group can spread out doesn't mean they should, only a really dumb group would split away from the Imbagon.

My point is that the list has no right to restrict the freedom of American citizens under the guise of security.

That list is a piece of shit really. Another attempt to fight terror when all it's doing is sacrificing human rights. If we in the fight against terrorism lose all that we stand for and become terrorists ourselves, then what's the point of it?

Although I appreciate the attempt at helping me, my biggest problems with groups, or the lack there of, was not for pve. I've beaten all the campaigns, 2 of which by soloing some of the end missions. Its doable, it wasn't a "problem" in terms of being able to get it done. It was just annoying, that I as a more experienced player, would often times be doing something other then the "flavor of the week" build, so I choose to just play myself/with few people, because of the hassle involved with groups. PvP is the real problem, and has been adressed in other threads.

Amusingly enough, I use my hero battles builds to do pve. So far I've been able to do every mission I've attempted with them. I never saw most missions as requiring a gimick, but I've also not gotten into hard mode, or some of the most difficult post campaign missions, simply because those seem to actually require real players.

In all honesty I've soloed all except 4-5 missions in both NM and HM, and almost never changed the bars. That you can solo the missions in NM isn't so strange considering that they are sooooooo easy really, anything works as long as it got some heals and some damage, in HM you need to have good builds at least... But then GW idea is good, but the problem is that the "hard" places don't become hard, they become impossible: you have to run a strange gimmick relying on permasins and whatnot. If you've ever tried SoO in HM with a balanced team you should know what I'm talking about. I would very much like to see the idea becoming better done in GW2 by allowing you to run some semi-balanced builds and the difficulty being beatable by being clever.
