graphics quality is less important then graphics style. I can still enjoy older games whit lesser graphics but i can no enjoy Wildstar , i haven't even played the game and I already know this due to the graphics style used,  I personally find it very ugly , its the same reason i could not enjoy Wow, similar graphic styles.

the game itself is probably quite good, but graphic style is more important then game play while graphic quality is not.

there is no such thing as fusion magic, its a name made up to point out that two classes can create a 3th effect  when using certain skills.

Wizard101, Atlantica Online, the secret world  are a few games that use this, perhaps neverwinter as well, (not sure) , champions online also has this in form of Power x fears, power z exploit fears to do normal dmg + extra stun

The animations are typical Asian style.

The human models are typical Asian style.

the Combat is very very typical Asian style .

The female human model is typical , the long legs, big breast super doll. the human males are all wearing make-up it seems and the giants type males are all scary and ugly..

it needs a lot of work  or it wont appeal to the western market at all..well not more then all other typical Asian grind games

there are probably around a million other gamers that dint got a invite and might be supportive of this game far longer then you. there is absolute no reason to incl a frustrated comment like :

"Great way to reward those who have been interested about the game for years Oo"

perhaps its time to look around as see if there is anything more important to be frustrated about, Like silly laws that put kids in jail for being in love.  (facebook)

i am not impressed at all. too much focus on the non gaming features. ps3's reveal was a lot better imo showing the games instead of focusing on the `box`. And now they have the upper hand while showing their machine for the first time :P

focus of non gaming features is the key, sinc eps4 is trying to be focused only on gamers wich in console language means casual couch joe.

id rather and alaways play my games on my study with proper equipment wich i can swap whenever i feel like it and use xbox one as multimedia device on my living room. eventho i still havent decided wich one but it heavily looks at this point its going to be xone.

you have no concern at all that you cant buy cheaper games from friends or that you cant even use you're multimedia device (xbox) if there is something wrong whit you're ISP , no movies, no games, no multimedia at all. just use the power button

and btw, aint a xbox one a bit much for a simple multimedia device? bit overkill on the hardware except the storage , that for a multimedia device is extreme low (500gb storage)

The OP post is missing a fact, the xbox one -must- be online once In every 24 hours.  no online= no play, not even single player games.

anyone buying a xbox one is basically signing  a contract  asking to be Irritated and annoyed as that will happen at least once.

I wonder how they are going to enforce their resale of games policy in Europe since its bin a court verdict (on European level) that games may be sold from and  to other consumers (re-sale), they probably found some hole in the laws they are going to exploit is my guess, something like: yes you can sell you're game to him but he's got to buy a new account bind code from us... just 35,99!

PS:  Denambren - yes, best chat system ever used in a game.

/mood lustfull  /moan = moans lustfully or moans lustfully to

And this, in the green, is why RPing in general struggles in these games reputation wise...

I play tabletop RPGs, have done for decades, and even I stop at the thought of stepping into the 'lusting' cyber world of the MMO RPers.

Tabletop RPers seem to be a more resiliant breed in general though... less reliant on the more sordid side of things and not letting the fact that their lead minis can't sit in chairs ruin a game for them.

Yep, I pretty much switched off at "The secret world.  none of them have -any- game design build whit rp in mind" but that final comment sealed the deal for me

I do wonder how many "roleplayers" in today's MMORPGs have even touched a table-top game. Kids these days, eh?

Did you ever play SWG or UO? if you did you would know the difference between a Game designed whit roleplay in mind and one whiteout that design.

you sure can still have fun and rp in them , never said you could not but its just not the same, that you are a big fan of the game is obvious and great for you and TSW is one of the best games on the market to RP in currently but not designed around the Idea of RP.  its design is build around people working together to solve the game puzzles while drinking there fav drink and having a laugh. if the game was designed as a actual world then you would have a home for your character to live in

Vesavius picks up the whole cyber part from the emote and talked about the reputation it gives to MMO-RP, and while I placed it to showcase the crazy stuff you could do in swg he brings up a valid point but also one that has nothing to do whit the difference between tabletop and mmo-rp.  its one of those things people do. just like how some people like to cover them self whit fruit or wear black leather whit spikes and using whips.  its public knowlidge but most is hidden behind taboo's, .. I don't judge people, let people be as they are.

Tabletop is one form of roleplay that came from writing story's as Larp and MMO-RP came from Tabletop. but they are not the same and while diehard old style rp'ers still can have their fun in limited mmo designs (since the mind is most important) the world design, how interactive it is makes up the level of rp you can do in them, just like the quality of your dungeon master always was (is) important to tabletop.  (not necessary to have fun among friends but a bad Dungeon master can not make a "good" rp experience)

the design of a MMO is your new age dungeon master, the more tools are put into the game whit this idea in mind the more social and rp  suited a games becomes the more events gamers will make and that means more player will come to the game, more players will stay in the game.

Just my personal meanings, but I don't expect younger folks like you Mulli to agree, learned a long time ago that roleplayers are almost like humans.. every single one has its own idea's about rp.

I used a Roccat kone mouse for years (2008 I think)  "Broke" this year , not event he hardware but the glue holding all rubber grip parts ..

Good stuff and a price Europeans have a shot at to :)  be glad to take it

PS: my personal RP benchmark.. if I cant sit on a damn chair the developer placed in the world then the game was not and will never become a long term RP game.  It will be a used car  I will drive it but only until i find better.

SWG probably was the best game ever designed for RP and maybe even the only game next to UO that had world design as a base concept, from chat emotes , animation to game play mechanics, in every sense it supported it more then any game ever done to date.

most modern and older game are terrible showcases of game design when it comes to RP,

EQ,WoW,APB,SW:TOR,DC-online, AoC,The secret world.  none of them have -any- game design build whit rp in mind. at best you can find some basic emotes and if lucky and place to sit on the floor like hobo's

it might be somewhat fun to rp in them but it isn't a RP friendly World.

this lack of game design around the idea of actual worlds is the big flaw that makes mmo's fail most of the time. (coz that is what rp is, pretending its real for the character living in that world)

Even if someone is not into RP, they are into the whole idea about having a character in a other world being the best they can possible become there whitout forgetting their rl life at times. (unless addicted ;)  )

its like a fps, its bin long proven that a believable game world whit for that game world realistic combat mechanics will be judged superior that games were a part of this is lacking. The more you can do in a FPS, (duck and cover, beak walls, drive a tank )  the better reputation the better it sales the better it survives a decade of expansions.

lucky for us there are more and more games and this means more roleplayers ( got catch them all!)  so maybe we will  slowly and finally see more games geared toward the RP"niche"

PS:  Denambren - yes, best chat system ever used in a game. (incl all other chat mechanics like different bubbles types)

/mood lustfull  /moan = <name> moans lustfully <txt> or <name> moans <txt> lustfully to <name>

EVE Online is pretty popular, but it's a niche audience for sure. It just happens that people who prefer that niche are extremely loud on these forums.

Without using the word WoW, name a themepark that has more subs.

Not a fair question. You use the "Poster Boy" for sandbox-ish games and rule out the use of the "Poster Boy" of themeparks for comparison.

How about this:
Name a sandbox-ish game, BESIDES EVE that has a good amount of payers playing it.

he is not "pointing"to the subscription amounts, he is only pointing out that eve is not a niche as so many call it, its one of the biggest mmo's on the western market (in the subscription market slice)

I'm all for it,  I have bin playing mmo's since UO and always hated the "evolution" of the hotbars , it became really ridicules whit 6 hotbars 60+ icons/skills

I don't need that many skills to play "my"game, as long as i can customize the skills I want to use (play style)  I'm more then happy whit 6 power and a dodge or two.

its bin done a dozen time by Asian action game for years and several times by western mmo's  ( the chronicles of spellborn in 2008 had a good mechanic build around it) , its a long proven control mechanic for action type mmo's games

naturally there people who are so used ( and a bit stuck) in the old tab-targeting + mega hotbars that they will have a hard time adapting to the new breed of mmo's

personal I love it.

@punk999 the book is also in skyrim , there a few more books and letters that make the mind wander wierd paths ;)

I guess this marks the end of Star Wars for gamers at least. /sad

Bit melodramatic, I think. Who else could you have realistically seen this license going to?

Personally, I'd love to see Battlefront 3 finally get made as a Frostbite-powered game. As for future Star Wars MMOs, I'm not going to touch that one (today ;)).

Do you realy think you will enjoy a EA : Battlefront 3 game whit a assortment of dlcs for long before the cow starts to scream coz its milked to mutch?

BUY!!!!!!

Red 5's Tatooine pack!

Buy the new weapon pack! and own the field whit your own red 5 red saber!  incl the awesome Map that lets you fight in jabba's palace

Can you pwn the Slug!?

For me its just a other game to ignore / boycot

What is it with Asian fantasy games that always add content that turns them into steampunk or even worse.  That car would fit in today's world, not the fantasy / medieval world of Archeage.  What's next, replace gliders with jets and maybe throw in a waverunner for some fun watersports?

I've got to agree with you here.

I hate it when they add anachronstic items to their Medieval fantasy games.

I believe there is a disco in this game as well.

In general Asians do see the game as FUN. Not a direct simulations whit high level or realism.  AA was from the beginning developed as a steam punk / renaissance game whit a lot of influences from the ages 1400-1800 in Europe and in Asia  Community is very important so their games reflect that. Western games have totally abandoned any design whit community in mind, Here solo play and fast gain are far more important then making new friends.

I have asked this question on every MMO in development forum there is, unfortunate its only a small group of player that know the real power of these small things. (tho sitting aint realy a small thing to design its harder then it looks/sounds in a mmo)

but if TESO wont have the ability to sit in every damn chair i see I will instandly quit ..or better I try to find out before so I dont waiste any money

AoW looks nice enough, when i played it i was not stunned by it but it was nice and captures the atmosphere just fine. Theres plenty of low end simple textures (mostly landscaping ground/rock textures)  but they are not very obvious.  its a decent to good game whit less then mediocre lore/translation but it has a awefull f2p cashshop model that prefents the game from becomming realy populair. the fact that only 2k gift keys are used right now at the on mmorpg.com AoW giveaway shows that people are burned by its earlyer hype moment.

Kickstarter is a Known risk and most people investing into it know it.

pre-orders are often based on hype(lies) about a game, people expect someting and often feel stolen out of their money.

thats the diference. if you pre-order Knowing that you might (most likely) not like the final product, go ahead,  if you dont like that risk..simply dont.

While they are not (very) active as global destroyer they are one of the worse company's on earth when it comes to consumer deception, scamming, lies, tax evasions ( they dont pay mutch tax at all deu to offshore acounts and that while they do charge everyone for their local tax rates (eu/vs) ..what they dont pay)

I keep a eye on it to, just to make sure it does not cross my path again. cheap b grade copy paste mmo
