In my opinion, the game is a lot more smooth than it was in May. A lot.

It is getting better with every (monthly) update. With the Imperial city, justice system, spell crafting, and champion system on there way into the game, PVE and PVP users alike should find some joy.

I guess what im getting at is that zenimax deserves a 2nd shot. Launch was horrid, but they managed to turn the game around (mostly, so far) and make it awesome.

If you quit ESO early on, i recommend you look into giving it another try. Its only been 6 months, im excited to see the progress of the game in a year from now.

Care to agree or maybe disagree?

PVP was garbage before...unless they made a few major changes, its not for me.  Once, clans meant nothing int he game as far as pvp.  Then pvp was limited to the one pvp area.  Why not have a pvp server, that game would have been amazing had they had done that.  Even if it was just guild related, meaning guilds could declare on other guilds, that way those not wantin gin the pvp could avoid it, but the one zone...blah.

The title pretty much sums up my feelings about Archeage.  This game has a ton of different features which is cool, unfortunately it doesn't do any of these features great.  I am going to present the major features of AA and give my opinion on each.

1.  PvE - Sure AA has it, you can quest to max level but in comparison to games like ESO, GW2, TSW this game just falls horribly short both in storyline and execution.  As far as dungeons go this game can't hold a candle to games like FFXIV, WoW, and even Wildstar.

2.  PvP - This is arguably the main focus of AA but again the execution is just missing something.  PvP in this game relies too heavily on CC, basically in a 1 v 1 the player with the most CC will win.  Outside of 1 v 1 most open world PvP is just groups of zergers running around PKing smaller groups.  In addition to all the CC and zerging there is no lag compensation which large scale PvP even more of a joke.  Most group vs. group PvP is about popping defensive CD's and using AoE if you're melee or staying at ranged and using AoE if you're ranged.  No real skill is required.

3.  Land Ownership - Awesome idea, horrible implementation.  I have been playing since pre-release and I am still unable to procure anything larger than an 8 x 8.  For starters day one was all about grabbing as much land as physically possible so you had people rolling 3 - 4 alts grabbing up land within 2 hours of launch.  Since launch whenever a plot goes up for sale basically botters grab it up before real people can.  Again, XL and Trion could have remedied this situation fairly easily by limiting land per account but instead they have done nothing.

4.  Farming - This games implementation of farming is a watered down version of Farmville.  Nothing else really needs to be said.

5.  Crafting - This feature is a prime example of P2W, anyone that says otherwise is just delusional.  Crafting requires LP which are generated at a higher rate when you are a patron, 2 can be replenished every 12 hours by purchasing pots from the cash shop, which can be used by all toons on your account every 12 hours.  The last part is what totally gives it away, LP is shared across all characters but each character can use a pot every 12 hours. So if I have 6 characters that's double the LP each day, if I spend enough real money of course.

So in my opinion, yes AA has tons of features but none of those features are done really well.  If you are into PvE you can find better in WoW, Wildstar, FFXIV.  If you are into PvP you can find better in ESO, Darkfall, and possibly even WoW.  If you are into crafting (without spending tons of real money) FFXIV has a way better system.  And last if you are into farming, Farmville.

I tend to agree with this...you can do everything, however none of it is epic.  The pvp is rather broken...open world peace times are stupid.  Lack of a guild war system makes no sense for a so called sandbox.  The pve is pretty bad period.  The crafting is probably the shining point in AA, but then broken with the labor system...lol.

The crafting isn't even good.  Its the gathering that is good.  Crafting itself is just simply combining.  Games like FFXIV and Vanguard had better crafting.  SWG managed to have great gathering but also have crafting be more than just simple combining.

Yea, you are correct actually

Really is a shame what Bioware did with such a great IP...sad....long live swg

I'm sure they could have gotten Weezer to play! =-(

Worst bands of all time?  okay...

Any mmo that has a large pvp focus is going to have a more aggressive community...common sense will tell you that.

Pay to catch up, not pay to win...

*OMFG A COMPANY WANTS TO MAKE MONEY AND YOU STRUGGLE AT THE GAME WHEN YOU PLAY IT FOR FREE, WHAT'S WRONG IN OUR WORLD!!?

Great core group, looking to add a few more..must be active, be in comms and able to work with our core.

Still adding some more players that will be very active and be in comms when in game.  Slowly building the right fits so that we are ready for sieges when they come out.

Incognito Gaming: www.incognito-gaming.us
Focus: PvP/Siege Heavy/Arenas/Raids
North American (EST)
Server: Aranzeb
Faction: East/Prefer Cats (less fall damage)
Timezone: Most of our group is US based, however if you can play during our times (typically Est. time) we'd love to chat.
Member Count: Will max at 60 members, must be EXTREMELY active and must be in our comm's when in game.

About us: Incognito has played multiple games in the past and is always a pvp presence. Dating back to SWG, Incognito dominated the Jedi's as an all bounty hunter guild. Darkfall was next on the list, Incognito was a siege heavy clan in the game and eventually became a well known force boasting an impeccable win to loss siege record and never calling for outside help. Earthrise was next up, Incognito showed the large zergs that a small scale clan could dominate the competition winning fights that was as uneven as 20 to 100. Eventually Incognito dominated Tera, once again as a smaller elite group.

That brings us to Archeage. Those that want to win with skill and coordination via using our comms feel free to apply. We are a tight knit group and we are only looking for those that want to fit in with a tight knit group.

What are we looking for: Hardcore players, but non ragers. We are looking for the kind of player that if you don't see them log in, its a surprise. This does not mean we are nazis and are looking to kick people, but we have a goal and we need actives to make it work. Our end game goal is to have 60 members, 50 that log in at a time as that's what we need for sieges.

Goal/Demand for Archeage: We are going into this game for two reasons. 1. We are looking to have the top arena players on the server. 2. Dominate sieges, which we will 3. Take down raid bosses.

In closing: If you like this style of gameplay, you are going to be very active and are a non rager...feel free to message me. Our core of 20 or so have played alpha and beta and are familiar with the game. Feel free to message an incognito member, or hop in our raidcall and message one of us.

Message: Maya, Mipster, Sugar, Sirbalin, Kentarre to chat.

I've been looking at SC for ages and never got around to investing in it. However I'm now keen to get started and mess around with Arena Commander.

However, I am really puzzled as to what is the best way to get started. I am prepared to get more than just the basic entry level package, and was looking at the Constellation Andromeda package, but that seems to only come with 1 ship. I guess I can add more ships if I want them later?

A bit puzzled, like I said, so would appreciate a steer from someone who knows better.

This game is going nowhere, all they do is put out ships for people to keep paying money, miss deadlines...it's poop.

I need a lot more than one pvp area...should have had a pvp and a pve server.
Sad that post's like this may actually influence others...the game has had a great launch.  The ques suck, however...a game like this can't add more servers as you can't one day merger servers because of land grabs.  The game will thin out in a month or two and the ques will go away.  Great launch...and I'm far from a fan boy...I hate tab target gamtes, but they've done well here.

A sign of how desperate people have been for a real open world MMORPG instead of all of these terrible casual lobby multiplayer adventure games we've been having to deal with.

Archaeage may not be perfect, and I don't like Asian themed MMOs, but it's way better than the other crap out there.

Hopefully developers start to wake up.

Gotta tell you, I think they are doing the right thing by not launching more servers, games like this must have a massive population.  In two months when the servers die down, we'll be glad they didn't launch tons of servers.

Those looking for a tight knit group that will use comms and play hardcore, we are adding a few more members...come chat if interested.

Whats the pvp about in the game?
The game is fun, they aren't making me spend money, I'm choosing to as I enjoy it...gg

I like the sound of that, but i doubt it will come to pass.  Hell a world that big... you could live in a cabin in the woods and never see anyone else.  Im sort of a MMO recluse

Well they do want to make the game more about zombies...that's a way to do it, then the pvp element is that much more fun when it's a shocker coming at you.

This is smart after ruining a great title like Star Wars where the right dev team could have made, "epic" happen.  Bioware needs to stick to their roots, great single player rpg style of games.
