Yea im with Bato. I mean, I really dont envy anyone attempting to make a 'Guide' for EW, but this is more a list of things that has something to do with EW. Maybe some words on what kinds of EW are most popular in Eve combat... and why would have made it more of a guide. But there are some very basic things that you could add to the article to give advice to players wanting to use EW. For examples: Sensor boosters and sensor dampeners are used a lot more frequently than Target painters and ECCM. you could explain why and how best to use them. Energy Vampires and Energy Neutralisers... well, there is quite a lot of meaty subject here.. The fact that Vampires DRAIN energy and GIVE energy make them powerfull indeed.. Warp disruption bubbles... The very critical component to gate camps.. The 'Guide' doesnt say anything about these examples . it merly lists what they do. Which anyone playing eve could easily read from the modules description. |

[EvE Online] Concurrent players record broken...again!
Jita (General) « EVE Online 1/12/09 7:11:59 AM
Nearly at their 50'000 target then :) And yes there are alts but the PCU record is important for the measuring of server load and performance. (Since one player logged in with 3 accounts still puts as much load on the server as 3 seperate players) Since it is one server hosting this many people its one of technological acheivment. In the industry only one other similar products has a higher PCU than Eve, and thats Second life.

I have never denied these events have occured. I just dont beleive the entire company, as you say, purposfully and deliberatly "cheats" as you so delicatly put it. Unlike you, I wont "live with the idea that ccp will continue to cheat" Humans are human, in every mmo company just like any other company there are people who exist that will make mistakes or try and work the system. I just refuse to beleive that the entire company does it, since it would be detrimental to their business. Personally if I felt as strongly as you did that every dev is out to get you, lol.. then I wouldnt be playing eve.

When your ganked your supposed to learn from it, if your ganked 'constantly' then your not learning, so yes I agree that leaving eve is probably a good idea because it means you have learnt something after all.

I wouldnt bother buying a new ACCOUNT. But yes, definatly start a new character. Apparently the new player experience is a lot better than it used to be so worth running through all the basics. Youd be suprised how things come back. I bought a second account just for "piracy" purposes but I went Minmatar. I dont know why people think Caldari is best... the nerf to rockets and missiles have made them a poor choice for pvp. In anycase.. you have PvP in a handy package now.. just join a Faction Warfare Militia, non-stop pvp fun in cheap throw away ships \o/

Must be hard to live with such paranoia. Really though, I honestly dont beleive that CCP Employee's deliberatly cheat, even when they have found an employee doing something, its usually an isolated case and the community make such a drama about it. In anycase, they have 300 employee's, and they are human so what if some get caught cheating, its not like the entire company is hell bent on manipulating the game.

Because Eve is just one server you always hear about people with problems more often. So it just "seems" like EVE is worse than everyone else, but actually they are no better t\n everyone else. |

Im quite certain the eve players care about ambulation, especially those with lots of ISK who want to buy a bar. Then there is the interactive 3d space map alowing corps and alliances to better plan their attacks. Maybe eve players at the moment are not really botherd, but when it lands Im certain they'll love it. Although its a given that these players will still spend most of their time in their ships shooting ;) As for tech3.. Well to get tech3 stuff you have to use the exploration mechanic to discover and enter these "wormholes to new places".. from which tech3 blue prints will be researched. There wont be bpo's And for the carebears Epic story arcs are sure to be exciting :)
While I dont play eve currently, I certainly am looking forward to M10 expansion, and ambulation which should follow in the expansion after. |

As for CCP's game, Eve, I agree.. Quantum Rise could hardly be called an 'Expansion'. However! If you watch all the Fanfest Video's it seems that EVE's improvments are mainly behind the scenes. Balancing, tweaking improving performance, improving code and setting the database so that it can work with all the new hardware they are putting in. Apocrypha looks to have a lot of improvments and content for the end user - Cant wait for Epic story lines ;) |

Originally posted by metalhead980 Well not quite a "whole" tier, Apparently the only tech 3 stuff will be ships up to cruiser size, nothing bigger yet on release. There is no mention yet about T3 modules either Also, we dont know what kind of maturation process T3 will have.. I will probably be MANY months before you have the skills to manufacture T3, never mind FLY T3 ships.
So yes, exciting times ahead.. but dont get too excited, youll end up being disapointed.

Originally posted by CyberWiz Well, personally when I started Eve I made myself goals very similar to those you mention. And I was able to enjoy and appreciate Eve, although I dont play Eve much anymore I still re-sub every now and then. But this is the problem, your typical RPG Gamer has an in-ability to form personal goals. Their first goal is given to them on an RPG, and thats to level up! - then there is usually a path of quests which leads them around the world introducing them gradually to new skills and challenges. As for the article, well.. for someone to even contemplate 'taking over 0.0' he would have to be a highly motivated individual able to set himself some very strong goals and have a complete understanding of the game. |

So many times ive heard new players saying that they found eve 'boring' as you point out, most mmo's lead you by the hand through their levels, they give you goals and you follow the paths they give you. But at the same time this is something that causes me problems with eve, I often find myself losing focus and what I want to do, and end up doing nothing. The certificates is a brilliant step towards this problem, giving new pilots at least something to go for. |

The Chronicles of Spellborn: New Launch Update

Originally posted by toordWow Lyndon ... did you take those screenies on purpose or is the game *THAT* empty. If so, that game won't last six months. Shame.
Yes, those shots like like they are on purpose. Shots taken on purpose are usually clean of other characters.
Ive seen screenshots similar to this before, and am still not conviced. But I do know that the Graphics on Vangaurd were always the best graphics in an mmo i've seen, and yet a Vangaurd screenshot makes the graphics out to be awful!! Even with video's that are compressed to hell, you cant properly make out what the graphics are like until you start playing. So I guess we'll just have to wait and see |
