Stylized can be a whole world of different looks, but I mainly prefer realistic graphics.

I've alredy gone back and tried it a few times and regret each time that I did. The game is just boring... it would take an entire new game to have me stay a lengthy amount of time.

So... yeah... lately that's been my biggest beef with MMO's.  I'm tired of the same old gameplay.  I could live with having the same grindfests, the same quests, and all that - at least for a while.  But dammit all - someone please change the way we play the game.  Not what we do - just how we do it.

Why is it I can play a game like Prince of Persia, with the most simplistic, repetitive gameplay elements for hours on end while it never becoming stale, but the thought of sitting at a computer playing an MMO, clicking a hotbar starts to drive me up a wall in a matter of minutes?  Could it be because this kind of MMO design just isn't fun anymore?

So, with that said - for this reasons alone, I will never play another game that utilizes a Hotbar for the bulk of combat.  I'm done with this type of gameplay.

I'm getting pretty tired of the same old washed up game play of the genre too. Devs are too scared to change it though.

Find something else about the game to complain about no doubt.

Bad community for the most part, coupled with boring gameplay.

I wouldn't base your choice off of others either, pick what you want to play the most.

With slightly more than a month til release, I don't think they'll be changing much of a core mechanic.

Having time to ponder things I don't think is a reality of combat. I know it's a game, but I think faster combat is good to promote quick thinking, plus, it's more exciting.

Just thought I'd bring this up, since it's something that I've noticed. WAR has slower paced combat according to their very own vids on their website. For anyone wondering what it will be like that hasn't played DAoC, I would suggest playing the DAoC trial to get an idea of WARs combat.

*Note* - I haven't actually played WAR, just going off of what I've seen in their vids.

I personally prefer faster paced combat but I can live with slower paced if the game is actually good.

Aw did I hit a nerve? I'm sorry. Actually AoC wouldn't have been that bad of a game if they hadn't outright lied about features and hyped it so much. They made their bed, now they are sleeping in it.

I'm gonna try the game but the combat doesn't look nearly as intense as WoW even, I read the phrase "stand and spam" somewhere, which I beleive sums up the combat from what I can see in vids.

You think the game sucks but you take your time to dig up all this info about it. You know, funcom has you by the balls more than they do the fans of the game.

What's funny is, even after funcom fixes the problems, people are still going to be complaining about how it was it release. I guess that's not so much funny as it is sad though.

This information is false by my guess, I play on a more unpopular PvE server and I see people everywhere I go. The only way I can see this being true is if it was taken at 5am or something, which is around the least played time for any MMO.

The game really is good, although I havn't reached level 80 yet to see the stuff most the haters complain about, but something tells me, by the time I reach max level most of it will be fixed.

It really is sad to see people with so much glaring negativity in general, and they have to release it somewhere, so why not AoC since it has a few problems, right?

Not everyone has to accept negativity and bad attitudes people are attempting to be thrust down their throats either. I'm still enjoying the game, as are many, like the OP has stated.
