WAR and AOC look like very pvp style games, so i kinda lost intrest in those 2, but conan is comming to 360 so i could play w/a lot of ppl. the fact that u start off line and can play offline makes me think it wont be very deep online or turn out bad like two worlds. as for spellborn it looks kinda cookie cutter.

they apperently have been building a trial island for a little while now, as per the patch notes, when they will put it out beats me, im hearing dec./jan. probly.

well im going to update it eventually, after i acumulate funds for it. still got the dreaded "holiday shopping" to do, but id say by next yr. (after i got money back from gifts) il probly put money into it. thanks for the info, il probly be there for the trial island when it launches. laterz

after u lvl in most games u get all ur HP/MP back, its been around forever, the 10% thing was kinda suprising for me too but its nice in ways, and makes the game easyer/more solo friendly that way..wich is kinda lame.

well i dont wanna dish out more money right away, i knwo they are supposed to have a trial out soon, and i knwo they have some buddy thing, but i dont know anyone who has the game. 100+$ for another GPU and a 40$ game is a bit much for a collage student, sience i just spent 600$ on the comp and 40 on eq2 just a week ago.damn guess il just hafta wait til they do trial isdland, any idea when that will be out?

ive been reading bout VSOH for a while now, especialy sience i got off FFXI. i bought EQ2, but it feels much more solo orientated, wich is ok, but being a big FFXI/EQOA fan im very used to and still loving more hardcore/group orientated MMOs.

this was supposed to be basicly a new gen version of  EQ1, or at least they say. i wanna really try this game, but i have a few concerns 1)can i run this decently(2g ram/AMD 500+/nivid 6150) 2) is this gunna have a future, i hear so much about how the pop is low, they server merged in less then a yr in, and they just apparently fired half there ppl. but then i hear they are gunna re-release w/a trial island/all the updates/re advertising. so whats the deal w/ all that? i dunno i think i might just go back to FFXI, i really dont like all these super solo friendly games, dont get me wrong there nice, just not what im used to/what i expect from an MMO, i wanna play w/a ppl.

yah im in a very small one atm, and i have 16 dirge and 10 fury. i just dont like soloing so much, i wanna goup but the lowest lvl groups i ever see needing ppl or alot of ppl searching for is like 30's

forced does suck, but like EQ, groups were way more of the focus, becuase after all it is a massivly MULTIPLAYER game. every game need s alittle solo, but not to the point were its all u need.

true asshats will be asshats and will exist in every game, from Ultima to the end of life as we know it, its the fact that u get a hell of alot more asshats out games like WoW.

i have 2 guys on AB, and grouping even during prime time at lower lvl..heck any lvl is scarce.

The point that a lot of you miss is that evidently there are more people willing to pay to play a game that they can get by soloing and occationally grouping than there are that want all groups.  I am not a fan of forced groupng because there are always too many idiots that i would rather kill than group with.  All the people that you are complaining about that want solo content for themselves because life has changed are the ones that are willing to pay to play because a game gives them a place to go that is not work or home life. 

Solo content is here to stay so quit whining about the good ol days and find like minded people to group with.  WoW evidently got the formula right for what people want so don't expect an incredable amount of deviation from this.  Game companys are not going to cater to the niche group that wants the uber MMO all full of every possible skill based, craft, blah blah blah and on with the list of things most people whine about games not having.  Do not expect game companys to cater to the few hundred or possibly few thousand of you that want the hardcore game it is not going to happen.  Find a game you have fun with and play it stop bitching about what games don't have and learn to enjoy what they do have or go back to playing EQ or whatever game you came from that was so fantastic.

 

 

i think alot of this ages MMO players are starting out on WoW and for a good reason probly. its like MMO-lite. its simple to get, kinda linear, easy to solo and group, simple basicly in every way. it fed heavly on getting good gear. things like that make ppl douches, and hence the infamous crappy WoW community. when the "big lvl" douches treat the lower lvl new ppl like crap they eventually turned to crap themselves and groups and stuff expected to much outta you. it also had a TON of advertisemnt and ppl went to it because "we have millions of subscrivers, were better then every MMO" wich of course was horse shit. if they had started on EQ or FFXI or linage or any of the other normal games that incorperated more -friendlyer grouping we would have less ppl bitching for all solo and less demand for um would make more games involving grouping, thus making better communitys in games.

eq1 is a perfect combo of heavy grouping but it is possible to solo, every newer game these days makes them super solo friendly to the point where u can complete most the game alone. i play MMOs to make friends, have great/funny/intresting convos, do group activitys, make a guild, argue(at times) help the new guys, and do mass raids/event together.

its not the fact that u get bonuses from grouping and crap, its the fact that most the ppl would rather not groups so it becomes more of a solo game. and Vanguard was the other i saw, i dont know if i can run that well, someone said to wait because the next patch is gunna fix alot and ina month or 2 they will have a trial island thing and supposedly they will be "re-releasing" the game through advertiment, and new reviews. that seems to be the only other game that focusus mor eon groups. but i hear the pop. is extremely low atm.

i dont mind a little it of solo but that game seems way too much of everyone just doing solo quests, u can make it to cap just as fast solo as in groups wich pulsl the point of interaction.

i personaly love grouping 9 times outa 10, its basicly the whole point of why u pay 10-15 dollars a month is to be on servers full of thousands of players. yes solo should be an option, but not half of the game, soloing should be a slower and lesser part of the game. ffxi was great w/ that but it has basicly no solo time, wich if they had just made places/quests to solo it would be great. eq2/wow/lotro are like 60/40 solo:group wich is pointless. yes soloing is nice but i dont wanna be able to just as easly get to lvl cap alone as in agroup, it takes the point of being w/ thousands of ppl. if u wanna solo, play offline rpgs, theres hundereds of them out there, and plz, the whole "i have like 1or2 hrs a day to play" is BS, get off MMOs then, MMos are ment to be played in large time gaps.

hi ive recently just got off FFXI and started playing EQ2 sience i got a comp in my room, but im kinda regretting buying it. its great and deep, but i need a game thats heavy on grouping. some of the games ive tryed recently (eq2/tales of pirates/lord of the rings..ect) all are very solo and quest heavy. i actually like being forced to group more often then not, that makes u become a part of the community, and makes u interact w/ thousands of pp (isnt that kinda the point of "MMO") for some reason all the recent games im playing feel generic and way too much on soloing. so can anyone name a good fun game (i dont mind actual fees or having to buy CDs) that has alot of emphisis on grouping. also raiding/endgame content is a big thing for me, i like having a reason to actually get to max lvl and stick around. plz any info is appreciated.

      newer to the forums, but ive spent alot of time the past few yrs playing console and pc MMOs, i finished playing a short time of LOTRO and just b4 a long ass time in FFXI (my fav besides EQ) lotro to me was far to simple minded, and u can solo basicly the whole way, not very deep nor many classes/spells. thought the story and amount of quests was nice, it felt overdone in that department(should made it offline) D&D online was fun, but not a traditional MMO, more like monsterhunters/PSU-PSO but deeper. then i tryed a few others, WoW (not a fan whatsoever for many reasons)  city of heroes (felt also like it shoulda been offline also) but kept me amused for a bit.

                 most of the free ones seem generic, most w/ no more the 3-4 classes(lame, need veriaty, dont wanna be the same as everyone else >.>)  and POINT and CLICK movement is so useless, how hard can it be to make it wsad over point and click,noone prefers PnC anyways.i just want a decent MMO, free or not that has a good chunk off classes (at least 5 or more) not like 5 yrs in (a couple is fine by me) a decent not kiddie and annoying community(like wows and some PVP free ones) basicly somthing like ffxi and eq, but dont take a huge amount to run (this pc kinda sucks) thanks for the feedback.
