should rename that video to "eve from an idiots perspective"
if you are unwilling to challenge yourself, then eve will accomodate you as well. |

the best way for a new player to make money is to farm missions. grind your standings up until you have a level 4 agent and a raven to run them in (about a month and a half training), you can do about 20-30 million isk an hour in missions, so about 15 hours a month grind to pay for the sub.
there are easier and better ways, but for a newbie, this is the most accessable. |

ccp got hacked. police investigating. |

if you really piss someone off for whatever reason, smacktalking, killstealing, theivery, etc then they may declare war, or if you have a poorly set up highsec POS with lots of labs and no guns, they may wardec you.
tbh it isnt going to happen, people have far better things to do with their time and wardec slots. |
|

new players arent even going to notice an 11% taxrate, the only people who are going to notice and care will be the year old toons playing with officer fittings and trying to maximise their isk/hour so they can buy new shiny toys. |

if you need one more skill point or 1 more isk for that perfect ship before you try pvping, you will never pvp. there will always ALWAYS be one more skill to get to level 5, more isk to have in the wallet to make the loss easier. if you are unwilling to get into a rifter, tech 1 fit it and go suicide it into lowsec looking for a fight NOW, you will never be willing to do it, so you should probably accept that training for pvp is pointless. if you want a reason to pvp (and thats not a bad thing), then building a reputation as a capable fighter or a fearless player is very much to your advantage and the only way that will happen is via pew pew.
for those interested, Red verses Blue is starting up again soon... |

so you think that you should be able to opt out of eve pvp? just because you're in a carebear alliance means that nobody should be allowed to dec you?
you could join an npc corp, and be immune to wardecs. tahdah! |
|
|
so being immune to wardecs isnt so great, because you can still be suicide ganked? wow, id never thought of that. you poor man in your unsafe highsec npc corp, it must be terrible. wardeccing a target is not "risk free" for the deccing party, they run the same risks that the target corp does, they can have stuff blown up too. |
|
|
so you think it is unfair that people who fit for pvp have an advantage over those that dont? if you are stupid enough to fly your mission ship around unscouted and unsupported during wartime without making any modifications to your fit to allow you to pvp then you deserve to lose it. we've been at war for the last 3 or so years. |
|
|
11 percent tax for being unwardeccable? seems fair to me.
making starter corps wardecable is a bad idea, the idea is not to gank newbies, encourage them to join proper corps and THEN gank them. |

I played EVE for a "free" month and forgot to cancel sub, so I "played" for 2 months. I was bored senseless. Everwhere you try to go you must wait for minutes and watch the same traveling animation. I hope they changed that, but even if they did, I wouldn't come back even if they payed me to.
You're welcome to your opinion, no need to apologise, I disagree with you but I know that EVE is really not for everyone. At least you gave it a try.
And sorted out your previous post. |

Sadly capslock is only cruise control for cool, it doesn't make you literate too.
EVE is the only game where if you meet a fellow player, you will not once utter the words "on my server" or "which server are you on? Oh, too bad, we could have met up." |

EVE has a heavy rock/paper/scissors setup, each ship can be fit to be any of the three or a combination of them. PvP starts before you undock and doesnt end when you kill something. EVE is PvP. The trick to winning a fight is not fitting the biggest ship you have with the biggest guns you can, it is knowing your ship and what it can do and then flying to your strengths and exploiting the weakness of your enemy. For example, an arbitrator has bonuses to tracking disruptors, an ewar module that debuffs an enemies gun range or tracking speed, making them far less likely to hit you. A megathron on the other hand is 10 times more expensive, 2 shipclasses bigger and has a monsterous tank and damage output. The arbitrator should win this fight if it can get "under the guns" of the megathron. The megathron might be able to hit the arbitrator if it has a web, or if it can bounce the arbitrator off a gate, or pull an orbit break manouver. It all depends on the players and their tactical awareness, or if theres backup waiting. |
