I would said the same thing before this weekend.  While we only had the first 20 levels and one level 30 dungeon to explore, we also had WvW, competitive PVP, and more.  In all, the more I played it, the more my jaw dropped.  There's a LOT to love here, and the Dynamic Events system pretty much revolutionizes tradtional hub-based questing by well... doing away with it.  That could have been the game's only innovation and I'd have been happy.  But there's something new around every corner that makes you go: "Duh! The game does indeed sound good and I am looking forward to it ..

But I'm sure as you'll remember in beta with AoC we only had the first 20 levels and it all looked good.. besides the many many bugs.. it wasn't until after 20 that the gae just seemed to stop.

I very very much doubt that is the case here but as great a review as this way I think I'll wait for the game in my hands (assuming there's not some steam thing like GW1)  before I make any judgements..

It really does look good though and as a ranged player enviomental flaming arrows looks awesome.

Just had to get on the wagon here for anti-pvp..  See you PVE's have things bad.. imagine then how bad it is for us Roleplayers.

I do ALOT of testing for various companies Blizzard inclusive and the one thing I see time and time again is that companies lose sight of what their gene of game is .. Its a MMORPG for a reason and yet so very few games ever manage to do a decent or even half decent emote system neverlone the ability to sit in a Inn and not die when some fool rushes in and decides he doesn't like roleplayers..

Blizzard thankfully took alot of advice to heart for Wow but even so Roleplayer servers are the last to ever be patched or fixed .. too many people are trying to please the PVP'ers and no one thinks of the roleplayers.

The thing that makes me drop my sub within the first month is the lack of RP in a lot games.. Now this isn't an anti-Wow post as I have had WoW on my system since I did beta so 6yrs on and I'm still there.

There's RP servers and PvP servers now but saddly all those Player Killers will ALWAYS come first to a company over we Roleplayers.

One day I hope there will be a game made by roleplayers for roleplayers.. but until then I will continue to watch the world do events for pvp.. I bet there's nothing to even do there if you don't like pvp.

As a Moon Guardian (though I'm currently playing on Tor) this has been going on for a very long time in MG.. Goldshire aka Pornshire is a well known hub on all US servers for its degenerate nature.. its also the best RP server out there...

I'm quite old and have done alot of rp over the years .. while I don't do ERP on WoW I personally don't see a problem with it.. kids will be kids when schools out we get flooded with dipshits and morons... then it goes quiet again.

As to why do it in say and emotes.. because the system is there.. why not use a perfectly functional emote system if the game has it.. and yes I do agree if they are going to have sex and all find somewhere else rather than the middle of StormWind or the Lions Pride Inn.

I'm not sure how old the boy was  but let him live.. while you may not personally agree with the language you see in text form.. there are a whole lot of MUDs awhole lot worse. Least of all some of the Gorean RP I have done over the years.

People need to expand.. such rubbish as in Goldshire maybe just what his son or any son or daughter need to be the next  #1 best selling author..

While wow never exsisted when I was kid.. alot of the things I did help to make me the novellist I am today

I understand that some companies don't or can't cater to all people but atleast a mention of rp would be nice

Having not so long ago tried my own hand at the game.. it has it ups and down much like every game I have ever tested or played.. And I do alot of testing.

The Klingon content unlocks at lvl 5 for any Federation player.. not an all-together bad idea.. but the Klingon missions and story are or atleast were (as of April) very very limited .. though I do have to say the BOPs ( Bird's of Prey for the non-treker readers) are really a kick up from anything you have starting one in Federation. They really did a great job on the Klingon "wessels" (heh)

The game itself is playible and I can see how and where there would be a certain draw to serious Star Trek fans, saddly I myself am more a SW fan.. there were a very limited number of emotes, along with a the ability of /me type emoting.. I'm a roleplayer and these are the things I look for first... that and the ability to walk (Cryptic have not so long ago added a walk function to COH yay! - but inclined to believe thats more NC's doing)

Saddly though content wise I would have to agree this is a big let down and while I did have fun now and then while playing its unlikly its a game I will return to anytie in the next year..

On an overall rating scale I would have to give the game a 5/10 its playible I myself didn't encounter any bugs there were some cool moments.. but it wasn't enough to keep me there the new content susgested by Season 2 sadly isn't enough of a pull to draw me back and I doubt it would anyone else who left.. though.. "I have been known to be wrong... now and then"..

all I can say is you all need to come to Australia.. you'll see where they get their money.. Australia pays about a 25% markup on everything from Hardware to Software..

Not counting numbers here just complaining at the prices we pay :)

If your old enough or even not and recall the release of Diablo 2 .. it was very very late compared to when they said it would be releaased.. ie 2 years later.

Blizzard are a fantastic company and one I've been with for over 7 years now.. but its still a market .. Blizzard might be very sure of Cata but if they can postpone release to vs EA / Bioware they will.

It will be delayed..

Saddly in a world of economic competition in the MMO market .. Blizzard can't ignore Bioware's TOR..

Which is particularly annoying to me as I'm reallllllly waiting for Cata.. I still play but something a little new would be good.. if I have to toss up between Cata and TOR... saddly for Blizzard Bioware win.. atleast for the first month or more. :)

It would be a very good PR thing on Hef's behalf to have a couple of the bunnies play for just a little bit.. sadly, I doubt this game will get into Australia.. with our screwed up censors someone is "bound" to object to a game about becoming a playmate

All I can say is I hope to god SOE don't pick it up.. And I was soooo looking forward to playing a Klingon SO.. ahh well

Don't get me wrong I still continue to play and support SWG and I'm a pre-CU Elder but, SONY have a real tendency to destroy things. I think the reason we all believe we will never see this game go live is its something we wanted..

Its not exactly the same but we've been waiting how long for Fallout 3 or a Fallout MMO .. just goes to show the point.. STO will likely not be taken up within the next 3 years, most other companies have their own projects going at the moment. I'd say if it is taken up the earliest we'll see it is 2011.

Not being American I have no idea how your judicial system works in these cases, but I hope PE are made to pay for Kohnke's expences. I love people that do MMO's but I don't think any company should be above the law and justice..  Or maybe Kohnke can send their own justice... ie Bob.. and his sledgehammer. ;)
