WoW Subscriptions Down to 5 Million (Allegedly)

Try google searching it's just about on every site..Thats proof enough for anyone..Whats very funny about it is another MMO didn't bring WOW to their knees, it was Blizzard who brought themselves to their knees..That is some very funny stuff..Here is just 1 of many sites http://tobolds.blogspot.com/2009/07/wow-subscriptions-down-to-5-million.html A quote from my very good friend Jon Bon Jovi "Shot down in a blaze of glory |

WAR returner trial: returning is not worth it
General Discussion « WAR (Warhammer Online) 7/01/09 11:16:21 PM
Synthetick sorry gonna have to disagree with you on something. "You closed your reply out by saying that they haven't been changing the right things, adding new regions and classes. Have you managed to read the patch notes from the last few months? They've been doing everything they can to optimize the game, add new content (which is a major draw for new and returning players, especially when the main drawback from WAR was their lack of end-game, not shiny armors)." I have read the patch notes and I follow WARs progress even though I cancelled a few weeks ago.. I strongly disagree that end game is the main drawback here . The real problem here is that the server population balance is horrible. Adding new content will not fix that issue. People have quit because they are tired of being outnumbered 3-1, getting overran by 4 order or 4 destro warbands every time they try to flip a Keep or BO. Most people will tell you that T1 - T3 is ghost for orvr, they will tell you that scenario pops are few and far between. Sucks when you have to lvl by doing pve quests and here you sit at lvl 40 with a renown rank of 25 going up against people that are lvl 40 and renown rank of 50 or 60+. Stuck on a server because Mythic won't allow transfers. Yes people can reroll on another server, that doesn't fix the problem and it sucks to invest time in a character to have to resort to rerolling. How can you have a game focused on massive scale PvP when you don't have the player base to support it? You wanna show your subs that you care, then fix the exisiting issue 1st!! Why not fix the existing issues before adding new content? Adding new content doesn't fix anything, to me it's a way of covering up problems in hopes that people will forget . 3 or 4 months ago when I logged in a good majority of the servers were high/high if not med/med, now they are mostly low/low..

Maybe not on DC because its a pvp server. Im sure people will argue that it isn't true, don't just take my word for it. You should form your own opinion!! The real problem with this game has more to do with population balance and class balance. To many servers to start off with and don't expect to see any high/high servers, don't expect to see any med/med. Maybe med/low, mainly low/low. My opinion is that Mythic is blowing it with a game that has so much potential. I honestly don't understand why they don't fix the existing issues before adding new content that will more than likely add to the unfixed problems. (server pops are unbalanced, classes are unbalanced, CSRs take forever to respond and end up telling you they can't help you) Mythic thinks they can make you forget about those things by adding new content. This game is suppose to be a pvp focused game, but it doesn't have the population it needs to have to support that type of focus and many people are finding themselves having to level by doing pve quests and meanwhile they are falling too far behind in renown rank. Example level 40 with a renown rank of maybe 25 - 30 and they have no chance against someone who is level 40 with a renown rank of 50+. Again sorry if I went off track in my response. To answer your question though, people come and people go, whatever that means to you!!! |

11~ Million Subscribers WoW... I think not.

Yet if you aren't a share holder why would you care? (and if you think they are lying, buy the least amount of stock you can and file a complaint with the SEC instead of posting on a forum about). That's not directed at the person I quoted (should be obvious) its about "motivation" for trolling or the word anyone else chooses to apply.
At the end of the day Blizzard of Vivendi or now Activision/Blizzard have reported record profits every time financials were released. The 2009 report actually came out AHEAD of expected earnings. How many companies came out ahead of expected earnings in that same time period?
Which to me is the problem... they can fairly well back up their claims based on earnings...
Yet on this site for years there have been constant threads about how Blizzard is lying... or counting inactive/promo accounts... I've yet to see an explination into the record profits... from those same NON paying accounts.
At least wait until their earnings slip or come in under "forecast" then make the doom post about how their losing their player base. (this would sound logical whether it would be accurate or not... as opposed to the current trend.)
After reading through all the yadda yadda yadda I think you wanted to quote me. No need to hide that you love to chat online and pay monthly to do so. There are the fighters and there are the pacifists and I think I know which 1 im dealing with. Anyhow it isn't a difficult thing to show and tell people what you want them to know and see..Look at Bernie Madeoff he did it for years, made billions from fabricating numbers, many banks, and many car dealerships as well meanwhile people bought into the company because they received that warm and fuzzy picture that they all wanted people to see.

Didn't you already predict several times on these forums that wow was experiencing rapid decline and would be closed by now? So if you were obviously wrong about its decline then you must have special insight as to why it is popular and how people are playing, because your opinions have such a great track record of accuracy in the past. *fart* Keep hammering away at the keyboard friend. It is always good for a chuckle.
lol You keep telling yourself how wonderful and fantastic WOW is. You do know that there are free chat services that you don't have to pay a monthly fee for! right? of course you do. Intresting find here: Did you know that China is believed to have more Warcraft players than any other nation, at almost six million registered accounts and as many as 660,000 playing simultaneously..So pat yourself on the back for putting some food on the tables of all those farmers er...I mean entreprenuers.. If you wanna believe that 11.5 million people are actively doing quests, pvping, raiding then I have some cheap cheap land to sell you. |

Warhammer Online : Age of Reckoning: Early Impressions of 1.2
News Discussion « General Discussion 3/06/09 7:45:41 PM
I have mixed feelings about 1.2. These are soley my opinions and it doesn't mean im right or wrong. The map changes was a very nice added touch. Adding a new scenario was a great ideal, but for some reason it reminds me of a refurbished Khaines Embrace. I was ok with the whole new change to the locking of zones when I read it in the patch notes. I now think it is a horrible concept because the servers are very unbalanced with Order or Destruction outnumbering the otherside 3 -1 depending on the server and now you don't have to break a sweat to lock zones and lock people out of IC or Altdorph. Not much you can do to defend or attack when your on the side with the least players. I understand this player unbalance occured when they opened up the server transfers, but it seemed like it was one sided depending on the sever. On the server I play on in 1 day 7 guilds ( around 300 ) new players from the order side transfered onto the server and none for the destruction side. I found that to be strange. I do not like nerfing of the classes that took place in 1.2. I think most of the classes were solid in their previous stages. Everytime dev's start nerfing classes it doesn't stop their and before you know it the whole game eventually goes downhill. 1.2 isn't 100% crap. There were some nice added changes to the maps, to the UI, and few other forgotten things. I don't understand why there can't be a 2 week transfer service for all the servers with no level restriction. Im stuck on a server that I hate. Can I go to another and start all over again? sure I can, but it is tough to do when you have invested so much time on a character. Keep in mind that this is just my opinion!!!! |
