Nothing New

It's not the game-play that makes it a next-gen MMO. It's the technology driving it. They are using cloud computing to handel server load. Thats why you can have a ton of mobs and players in the same area without the server crashing.

Trion never said once that they are trying to revolutionize the genre. They did promise that they would have a finished polished game at launch. So far, in my opinion, they have just that.

The game feels familiar yet somehow new. But if you are not satisfied with the game, don't play it. No one is holding a gun to your head.

Not that it makes much difference now, but if I remember correctly Auto Assault had destructible terrain and buildings.

People are still trying to defend this game?

Pro tip: Forget this game was ever made, go back to playing Warhammer table top ... enjoy.

Death to the false emperor!

Give Vindictus a shot. When I play it it reminds me a lot of Diablo. It's very "Dungeon Crawl" in nature. They only have 3 characters right now but they are releasing more as time goes on.

My girlfriend and I both really like cereal, we would be interested in World of Darkness if there was a  reference to Count Chocula in the game. I hope CCP can help.

I'm sure they would get a huge influx of breakfast food enthusiasts to MMORPG.

Bladerunner would be awesome, but why stop there? Buy up the Shadowrun IP and make that into an MMO.

As much as I would like to see 3+ factions, I can see why the Devs decided to go with 2. Every time you make another faction you split the player base even more. So think about it, lets say a server has 100 max level players currently online. Divide that up into however many factions you have and you can see how the player base gets very fractured.

My personal preference would be 3 Factions. It's self balancing and gives more than just back and forth play. But from a game design stand point 2 Factions is easier to implement and easier on faction population.

SWTOR may be a WoW clone.... but WoW was an EQ/DAoC/WHFB clone first.

They said they will offer more information at Gamescom in a few months.

.... Well shit :(

I was kinda hoping for a Chaos vs Ork vs Space Marine thee faction system.

I know Vigil teamed up with GW, and did their home work, and I know they have to make the story a little dumbed down for people to understand and for it to fit in the current MMO world; but two factions?  WTH is this?

Where are you getting the idea that there is going to only be two factions? I didn't think they had given specifics as to which race will be paired with who or even if they will be paired at all. I could be wrong, I may have missed an interview or write-up.

Just keep shoveling food at that troll, they seem to like it.

Well, with the upcoming patch, the leveling process should be quickened quite a bit.

- Path of the titans is a character advancment system that kicks in at level 85 and gives you 10 stages of advancement.

Kinda like Champ Levels in DAoC?

- New abiltiies for some crafters to "reforge", redistribute stats on gear, example: gear has 50agi but 0stamina, a reforger can take some of the agi points and add them as stamina.

Kinda like the Arcane Transmuter in Runes of Magic?

Watch out, those rascally guys at Blizzard are redefining the genre again!

That's a big difference than DAOC.

But yeah it sounds like there maybe some very large fights and it sounds like there maybe some ways to bust zergs.

If that's good or bad is up to you.

Yeah, it's kinda like the BP system in DAoC except you can lose them.

What about the books by David Eddings and his wife Leigh?

yes its true wow does offer more option with each class but theres also so terrible imbalances in those classes which have nothing to do with how good or bad the player is . i retrurned for the lich king and after a few weeks of endgame i realised how broken warcraft pvpv  is at the moment . thats not to say it ll not be like that forever but if like me you enjoy the pvp side of the game warcraft is quite simply unplayable at the momnet . which is the reason i ve returned to warhammer for a second time . ok its maybe not got the depth of wow in lots of respects but it is far more accessable and a lot more fun than the mess wow has become . i dont ever see warhammer being any more than a niche game but its a decent niche game . of course if you prefer to do the same instance in warcraft over and over again or dp the same daily quests to get some item that will be obsolete in a year or two or head into a battleground ( or wintersgrasp if you can stand the 20 second lag )where your likely to last only a few seconds against a rogue, paladon or deathknight  then warcraft is the game for you .

i ve played wow on and off for 4 years now i ve never seen it in such a bad state pvp wise .

It's true WAR doesn't have the depth that WoW has, but if you will recall, WoW wasn't always so deep. I started playing at launch and I remember when the endgame was raiding UBRS, and PVP was if you happened to see an opposing faction member who was flagged. WAR is only a few months old, it needs time to get it's legs underneath it.

I have to admit though, that is one thing the game is lacking. There needs to be some kind of NF implemented with homelands that can be defended. I'm not sure how they will be able to pull it off, but it needs to be done. There also needs to be some RVR dungeons.

As it stands right now, there's no real benifit to owning keeps. Other than the guild that owns the keep geting XP. Owning Keeps in the WAR NF could give stat bonuses and such. This keep increases WS by 2%, this one increases Int by 2%, and so on. Then by capturing the other realms keeps you could increase your stats even more. So in essence bring the NF system from DAoC to WAR. That is probably the aspect of that game that I enjoyed the most.

I to played the snot out of DAoC, will probably start playing again this summer. The first thing the Devs said about WAR was they were not going to make it DAoC 2. You have to come into the game thinking it's a total new game, and notice some of the DAoC influences.

They do make some DAoC references in WAR though. If you are playing Destro and you go to the North East corner of IC, and go into the chaos portal there, you go into the "Winds of Chaos." If you keep going through the portal you will have the chance to visit Cots in the WAR engine. It's pretty neat. Also if you get the chance to play in the Black Fire Basin Scenario, you can see Cetus frozen in the middle of the map.

You might want to try Runes of Magic. It reminds me a lot of WoW, it has dynamic dungeons (Never the same twice), dual class system (Rogue/Scout for the win) and you can level all the crafting and gathering skill to a limit then you have to choose which to spec in. Graphics arn't half bad either and it's f2p.
