in eve online for about a month and a half I knew if I logged on I was going to be overrun with enemies, but there was enough room to fight and win a few battles still, but you could not dream of doing any pve during that time. I have maybe 4000 hk's in wow spread over 4 lvl 60's and some other characters, the wow pvp battleground bullshit is lame, I will remember being beat down by my enemy sans a few victories here and there in eve online more than I'll remember anything i've ever done in wow pvp. A pvp game with no pve servers is nothing but a constant battleground 100% of the time, that is not so different than a wow, you never have to complain about a que either. Wow is not a pvp game, that's why it has pve and pvp servers.

Whats ruins a MMO experience the most?
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 9/27/06 6:49:35 PM
i think the community is what ruins it for me, it's only as fun as the people you play with. however I must note that I quit RF online before i really got to know the community because of the crap UI, that and i'm spoiled by WoW's .lua customization especially since I make my own addons.

What type of gameplay do you prefer?(polls)
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 9/27/06 2:26:36 PM
I didn't vote, I think I would prefer raiding if I was the leader, sick of being in raids where it's like "who am I healing" to which the response I get is "your tank and then 39 other people" Then when I heal my tank 3 other people are too. That makes raidiing not fun, if I was the leader and could "suggest" the best way to go about things it might be pretty fun. And since I'm the leader lets throw in no gnome mages allowed while we're at it... and no tauren warriors either.

Eve announces 30000 concurent users - Blizz announces 1 billion $$$

I'm glad EVE is a success, and it was a great fun game until all those bitches in the Curse Alliance left to join the enemy corps.
I'm glad CCP is making money, cause they do the "we will make the game the way we want it and if you don't like it then go play something else" and I hope they make another game sometime in the near future. Something where I can have huge knockers hopefully. |

Why does so many people play human in fantasy/sci-fi MMOs?
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 6/23/06 10:48:45 AM
Troll females are the best, their but moves just a little as they run, and their arms don't flail around while doing so. They look like they actually kick ass too instead of fairie dancing while fighting. Trolls are ugly as spellcasters though o.O |

If all WoW players were people from the Curse Alliance from Eve's glory days, Cthun would have been killed by 90% of the players that had a level 60 player. The difference is the community. If WoW's community was at all intelligent people would be bored silly cause farming content is believe it or not more boring than looking for a group for it.

someone can play eve for 4 hours a day for one week, after that one week there is a chance that person can beat someone who's been playing eve since release, not all that likely, but possible, on the other hand it's not possible to beat a lvl 60 warrior with a lvl 40 warrior, and it takes a long time just to get to 40

WoW's .lua customization, does it exist in other games?
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 6/16/06 3:46:44 PM
making and using the things that do everything for me is the fun part. If someone else makes them I'm really not interested, and that's where .lua and .xml are pretty friendly, I looked at something on that ACTool and it was a long list of numbers at one point, looked kind of like a huge learning curve there.
I made my own macro for my warlock that cast siphon life, corrruption, curse of agony and dark pact, life tap, and if had less than 20 shards and the mob was less than 8 seconds to death it would cast drain soul. It would be pretty lame to use something like that that someone else made, but since I made it myself and can change it at any time it adds a whole new dimension. Also with my warrior in WoW, anytime I enter a horde city or noob area I have a macro that switches myself into level 20 cloth and makes me look like a caster, it's funny, and I made that one myself too, it's one reason I like WoW. A game like EVE i can play without macros i can handle cause it's not as repetitive as a WoW or RF online or Lineage 2, but i simply cannot play another game like RF online/Wow without being able to make custom macros and interface changes. |

WoW's .lua customization, does it exist in other games?
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 6/16/06 3:06:11 PM
or are there any games in the works or anything where you can make elaborate addons. That can do stuff like make a one button mash macro, or graphical/UI changes?
I've played Eve which does not require macros, and i've played WoW which I wouldn't have played nearly as long if it wasn't for macros. I tried like RF online and DDO and the lack of macros (unless I just didn't figure out they had that capability) made it really stupid to me, I can handle pushing one button for 4 hours, but I can't handle pushing the same 4-5 button sequence for 4 hours. jack |
