EQ2 low Population servers is a outright LIE!!!!!!!  Five oldest servers during the weekday in mid morning are sometimes found burning, all other servers except VOX-PVP are Med. Thats good when you have as many servers running as Sony. EQ2 is a Hardcore charecter creation-maintaining-griding-you better master artisan early for PVP. Sony forum, fansites are some of the best maintain out of all MMO I've played. The only times I've become bored is when I get whooped in PVP by gankers freeps when trying to complete quest. 

Come on now, basing server population off sony's color coding system lol.  They could make a server with 100 people on show as red ( many players) and none would be the wiser.  No need to really comment on rest of this paragraph its all opinion just like the top paragraph.

Crazy thing is I keep learning new things about EQ2 even after all these years playing. Example is transmuting,  I meet soooo many players who get lost in EQ2 world that they RUN back to simplfied WOW and it's storyline. BTW where is WOW on MMORPG polls? . My guild on VOX server, Sparta has invited atleast 20 noobs per weekend that were former WOWry, Oh' Sparta is a lvl 40 guild with over 400 members, ummm somehow server count based on Sony seems true.

First how does that proove sonys server count as true?  How many of those members are unique account (not alts ) and how many still playing.  Last i remember reading ( recently at that) is people on vox are wanting to merge into another server since the server is dead.  Go check it out on the eq2 forums, this bs may fool a few people into signing up for the game but they will learn fast lol.

And people gettin lost in eq2?  Dear god how is someone getting lost in this game, sure your first time in a new place is difficult to navigate but in eq2 one time through is all it takes to get the zone down.  Most instances are linear too so if ya get lost you got problems.

And for the WoW on the mmo polls .................. maybe people playing  wow are too busy playing the game to mess with a poll, let alone write up desperate hype threads to get people to join a dieing server that sony wont merge becuase its the server allowed to buy plat and items for real cash.

This game takes about as much skill as a game of dominos, once ya understand the basics anyone can do play it easily.

Im sorry but i just can not stand these hype threads.  They are like those movie previews that show all the best scenes, 20 wasted bucks later you find out it sucked.  Remember its easy to be negative about someone you call a hater, i mean there is no bias attached with that label is there.  Also remember just as the " hater " can speak of little expirience with a game so can a " fanboi " over state thier totally uber favorite l33tz0r'z game. 

 

I give the guy a 2 out of 10 on the hype meter.  You lied about a well known server for being low population, saying its good. 

I will award you with this though .  This award is givin to all those on Station Exchange ( plat buying ) servers whos population is dwindling and sony wont put them on  regular servers. 

PS you asked for a more in depth view by some one in oposition of EQ2 right?

 

Play the game and swear on the bible and then come say this game has low population.Fact that it is a zoned game with so many zones and still see loads of people per zone speaks tons

World of Warcraft  why even ask.However if we are talking per server load(which is the actual numbers u ever meet.not the 9 or 10 m) then EvE seems to have the most load per server with a mention on LORTO and EQ2

Hmm old SWG had the ideal setting for RP and the stuff to match.

12) Sound

Well while EQ2 indeed has loads of dialogue i always enjoyed SWG music(heck they had the film music to choose from),WoW and horizons.

Listen i been here from its infant days.We have talked with the admin and others over this numerous times.

This site is totally free.Without Ads we would have a premium site and have to pay for it.They have to make money and yes like any buisness if they become popular they have more wanting to run ads.

Ok so the Ads are more.Big deal!Let admin enjoy the success of a site he worked so hard to bring to us.Unlike the rest generic mmorpg site this one actually works well and still bothers to do interviews,reviews and competitions.

In some interview 2 of them were talking about EQ and UO and made them sound really great. Saying Stuff like that you could feed your horse with plants and stuff from the real world but someone could have poisened them before hand and then your horse would drop dead. It all really sounded great and the stuff they were talking about the Old EQ aswel like how noone would ever post videos of how to kill a boss mob like they do with WOW because they were in copetition with everyone else as none of it was instanced.

It really sounds like the kinda game i'd want to play if the graphics were fully 3D lol.  We know that Blizzard are creating a new mmorpg thats under wraps obviously because they said their next mmorpg wouldn't be like WOW and something innovative. We also know that WOW was in development since before DAOC was released so it's not like they just copied every mmorpg in the sun.

Just really hope Blizzard have something planned like this ^

At least they openly said they took a lot from "another mmorpg" and refined it and did not try to create something new.Unlike some devs who will keep telling us how innovative and new their mmorpg is only to produce another EQ clone.

well i agree mmorpg should be careful about specs to be very successful but we do need mmorpg pushing the barriers of graphics otherwise we will hit a stale.

Similarly we need mmorpg to try out new things.Lets face it ,its 2007 and because of wow success we have a 1999 idea still be by far the most popular idea of a mmorpg.In a bid to be as successful as wow ,devs are making WoW clones while wow is basically refined EQ1.

Went down the toilet before even SoE bought it  over.What SoE is doing now is basically damage control
