sad really.

i played wildstar for nearly 1 month and honestly its not a bad game at all.its actually fun

however the developers took a route i think which killed the recreate the vanilla raid style wow.

blizzard  survival is because they adapted.i played in wow in a server first raid guild we had a lot of the server first so you can imagine we had more active raid numbers then many .

yet in vanilla we took ages to get the 40 people going for raid for molten core and keeping them going to progress was way harder.keeping them focused was even a bigger nightmare.

and this was even a time when people even  were more willing to raid.

blizzard changed things because had they not they would be a struggling mmo was a important and right choice.

wildstar should never have taken that route of 40 man hard raids.

no matter how you look at it a decade old mmorpg still has 7m subs which is a feat!

Dont' get this man. Just get State of Decay. It has no online but tstill better than H1. H1 focuses around crate drops a lot. Everybody I know that USE to play stopped pretty fast.

Not sure where you are getting your info but h1 doesn't revolve around crate drops at all. I've clocked around 250 hours gameplay with several friends and none of us have ever felt the need to get an air drop, also I've never seen one in the game.

To the OP, I used to play DayZ but it gets old quickly because there's no permanence to your character. On H1Z1 you can get creative with base building and start to store items there so that when you die it's not fully starting from scratch. Do note that bases aren't 100% secure though and can be broken into by other players.

These days I'm more comfortable with the game so I build bases around Pleasant Valley (The main city) and like to PvP alot but when I first started I was too scared so me and friends built a huge base on  a mountain and did supply runs to campsites and small settlements.

IMO a very fun game and well worth the £15. I'm on 250 hours with no signs of stopping and I've only just started playing Battle Royale mode which is very addictive

agreed .yet more out dated info.daybreak games has made changes in line with player request and its a good game now.

i saw an air drop  once at launch.since then its a waste of money and get better stuff in less then 1 hour then an air drop easily.

i even forgot they existed till it was mentioned now!

What is the difference between H1Z1 and DayZ?  Just wondering which would be the better game to get.  Which am I more likely to run into other people?

DayZ you are better off playing the original Mod and the plenty of advanced mods. Bigger player base, much more stable and polished.

Unless you like a berry gathering and crossbow simulator you might want to skip H1Z1. It is a bad Alpha, come back in a year if it is still around then.

actually i play in and out of h1z1 and yes initally it was pick berry and make bow.

however, that has since changed and guns are much easier to find and you can pick up bullets reasonably easy and break them down and remake into ammo  for the right weapon you make.

also starvation and dehydration has slowed down signifcantly and you can find food and drink easily.

basically when i make a new toon i now just run to my "special" spots for weapons and ammo and takes about 15-20 mins to run there and i never die from thirst or starvation and along the way pick up enough food and drink for reserves .

not a big fan of ever but to me they created an new excitement to pvp and made eve more popular because of the amount of news this long standing battle produced.

i know at least one person who joined eve purely by reading about the war.

Well to be fair h1z1 has so many servers are half of them are well populated with some way overpopulated. However i been playing it since launch on and off and cannot say i seen a fall in population bearing in mind since launch they have drastically increased server numbers with aussie and European servers
does not  look good for eq next then
That's actually too much ammo for a game like h1z1.
Sorry invalid complaint here
Makes me want to play

sadly last i tried it population was very low .

as mentioned before the idea 40 man hardcore raiding people wanted proved to be wrong.

280x  like 10% faster but power hog and about 20% more expensive then 960.

i have 280x  great card and had it since it launched  so no 960 then.

personally i get the 960

hi i used to build but so not anymore.

reason been is that  unlike 5 years or so ago there are tons of companies that supply parts and build it for   like   £20-30 some free and still stick a warranty with it as they rather sell  all the parts to you and make their money from that.

tbh you have to really be a strong micro manager  to make the difference.

i am not in italy so cannot suggest where to go in UK aria is a good choice their average price are one of the lowest and the beauty of it is you get to design your own PC with the parts and still get  warranty and good saving.

my experience with companies that just build  without letting you pick each part and brand yourself is this.often they will cut corners .you might even think you are configurating your pc  but trust me often they tell you  600W power supply but trust me most big names (maybe not alienware) toss in a very cheap one .people like aria who let you pick each part yourself you can find a seasonic  for sale  and ask them to slot it in.also often i find dell and others stick the cheapest motherboard in there .again aria lets you decide which you want.

the developers need closure and so do fans so i thank ralph a developer i hold in high esteem for this.

to me it brings back flashback.for instance i posted here and on the server forum that holocron  grind was beginning of the end.

jedi had and never did have a place in that timeline  i said it in 2001 when i followed the game and a LA producer it will be.

how they planned to fix this in the timeline given to SoE to use clearly was not LA problem and they left it to ralph and his team to magically solve.

reality of things was also the game was getting better and more amazing  each week and you could see cities growing and people everywhere .we had no offiical numbers but it clearly was growing  and would have continued growing.

i was one of the top 3 weaponsmith on chilastra and had a huge client list(found the old book recently with all the names) and can say when holocron came out i saw a huge drop in numbers  but was replaced by the crowd "who left initally because no jedi" and those who "heard about jedi".

to me i feel the population actually dipped post holocron but settled to the level it was pre cu(again have historical posts on this matter).

well its nice to know i was not imagining things and ralph  has confirmed this.

Also all the new information about  SWG seems to sort of point to the LA pressure .again something if you read thru the lines always seems to point to.So much so if you recall Smedley of former SoE pointed out after SWG closed he had no interest in using brand IP  anymore and will focus on SoE own IP or make new ones(sign of the biiter relationship and control LA had?).

Maybe someday Smed will tell his own part .

To ralph if you ever read this .You have the most amazing dream about a virtual world and i hope you get the time and freedom to build it in crowfall and i will be there for sure.the LA management will thankfully not influence this game

For me everquest but I feel nostalgia plays a role here.daoc pre Atlantis expansion was great but that expansion marked its end
I think Wildstar made the same mistake Everest 2 made at launch.they misread the market .
When eq2 launched some was convinced forced grouping and shared group debt would be the way forward(heck everquest itself did not have shared experience debt).they wanted to take the grouping exp of eq to a new level.they failed to wow and repaired it but too late.
Wildstar felt there was a huge market for a vanilla wow but made the focus something wow had to change due to the frustration which was 40 man raid.
Both games looked into the past and rather then modify their knowledge of the past to work for the future they listened to only those who told them what they wanted to hear and failed.
Sadly the core of both this games are actually good.

list is ok.i mean its a close call between GW2 and  TESO for first .i would have gone TESO but thats just prefence.

however, why on earth is destiny there.i own it  but  a mmo it certainly is not!

1)dark and one point  there were 3 "big" games to look forward to D&L,WOW and EQ2.yes thats right it was so hyped that it was up there in hype with  2 other big guns !

people paid for lifetime membership and it sold  well.i was lucky and as i had a ATI card i had a member of this site inform me he could not even launch it with his and never bothered.then the reviews came out and rest is history.

2)SWTOR.actually not a bad game but  100s of millions of $$,a popular IP,LA so sure of the game they pulled the plug on SWG(yeah it had other issues but thats for another time)

But with such a huge budget it certainly was nothing  new, terrible engine and just was nowhere near what we expected.

3)roma had a good following pre launch but what came out was a joke of a was so bad it got the lowest ever review marks  for that year from a gaming magazine and when they gave notice  of 1 year shutdown  they actually shut it down before that!

notable mention

Warhammer online

i love it and played it longer then any other mmo.but its failure  actually had  more to do with the devs not listening to the majority of beta testers back then but a certain elite guild in test (who famously decamped to WoW at launch)

it was a great game even at launch.but some things which could have easily been fixed pre launch were not.high system spec with a graphics  slider that was awful(dunno if this could have been fixed but improved yes pre launch),the terrible shared exp(i lead the beta charge to change this and got good support  from other testers but apparently back then the word of 20 elite guild member was more then 1000 others),fustrating crafting.

well sadly but true the dependency in EQ1 made it social.

However,i think a lot  has to do with the attitude of today's mmorpg players.

i recall UO actually been quite socialable.people just  chatted and spent hours in town doing this .UO had no reason for you doing this even back then since it was very soloable.

AC2 actually was very socialable.if you consider the game mechanism at launch was a horror to do anything social with(broken chat,no real city etc) i always saw so many people just standing  next to each other and mingling and playing musical instruments.

in my work experience 99% of major work related mess up can be traced back to management poor knowledge .

whenever an idea comes out there always that annoying manager who will suddenly come up and twist it into an "amazing" idea and eventually mess it up.

it happens in all industries sadly.

only managers i met worth their salt are ones who actually came up in the ranks of that particular field.sadly, incompetent managers hire other incompetent manager and the chain just continues .

i am willing to bet the "boss" who approached him was not smed because for all smed faults he actually understands the industry he works in.
