Ahh man theres alot to choose from but heres my top 5 IP's I would play everyday.

1: Buck Rogers (the one TSR made in the 90's)

2: Forgotten Realms

3: Red Dead Redemption

4: DC Heroes (This is how DCUO should have been designed from)

5: Masters of the Universe

I dont know, as much as I would like to log-in to GW 2 I just been getting the feeling that something big is gonna happen that's going to keep ANet from finishing an releasing this game.

*laughs out loud @ at the way the majority of the writers here said they loved the game so much and were having a blast with it when it launched.

Wonder if any still play or think that.....?

I"m still playing, I"m on it daily. and the cash shop they have really isn't as bad as everyone here claims it to be, it's about on par with Guild Wars DLC shop. now charging $10 for the GL DLC for me it's fine I been waiting for this since launch and it's no different then buying any other DLC off the PSN it's just the direction the gaming industry has been going.

I completely disagree. That is NOT the direction the gaming industry is going. First off, most dlc packs are for games that you bought once and are not paying a monthly subscription fee. Normally if there is DLC in an mmo, that mmo is free to play. Sony is trying to take it into a completely different direction and they will not win.

Well it could be worse they could drop the p2p an go f2p an charge everyone $10 a mission.

wow $90 million on a game, I"d would buy $50 mil in gold and live happily ever after with the other $50 mil.

Cryptic is going to be one of those companies that EA will buy soon just to fade it out of existence, but if Cryptic did get to make ST:TOR it would be dead before it hit the store selves. cryptic just sucks

lol it seems they still haven't got a clue what to do with DCUO and its a shame that they're not going to be releasing the Light Power set this year which is a big let down, but i guess until they get out of this Batman craving we'll have to live with what they want to give us.

It doesnt matter which ps3 slim you buy, be it the 160 giger or 320 giger ps3's their both good but if your wanting more drive space you can always slap a bigger drive in it, like i did I got a good deal on a Seagate 1TB 2.5 drive from newegg for $200. just read in your manual (page 36 - 41) of how to format the new drive an so on and then poof your done.

Its funny how ANet is getting soooo much attention now with GW 2 then they did with GW when it was released.

*Instance base mmo's- idk about every1 else but i hate instance based mmo's with a passion i want an open world where it takes me 3 hours to run across or 1 hour using fast travel (cars/ horses/ boats/ planes/ earthworm w/e) im not saying there shouldnt be teleports i encourge them but i would like to see more of a world like feel rather then a zone type set up where monsters dont just spawn in one area but all over the place ( in according to creature type like deasert crap spawns in the deasert or plains spawn in plains, mountains spawn in moutains etc..) but with a system like something more then 10 lvls higher wont atk u unless u atk it first unless u r trodding in something lair :P

Years ago people complained about not having a faster way to meet up with people, then instant travel started happening and alot of people were happy about it and now your saying you want MMORPG's to go back to the long travel times hmmmmm well guess what friend it's not going to happen as much as I would love to go back to them days those days were shot in the head and dumped in the East River never to come back, you have a better chance at winning the lottery or becoming President of the United States then to have something that was lost in the genre to come back and I do agree with you on this point.

I been wondering the same thing about secret ID's but now I dont see how or why they would put this in the game now, to me and others that there's really no need for it I mean if you look how they designed the game and how it play's your in hero or villain mode 24/7,  so secret ID's just has no place in DCU right now unless they do a complete rewrite of the entire game to fit it in so you can have that "This looks like a job for Superman" moment.

1092

To me it did for the most part, but until I started taking a closer look at what SOE had done and noticed that they didn't do anything different again. now I know its hard to come up with new ways to get players to do missions which is ok I'm fine with that (for now), but what isn't hard to do is giving players an alternative to collecting gear. after all isn't this suppose to be a super heroe game I mean where are the innate super defenses like invulnerablity or some kind of skin toughness that raises your Defense Rating say by 750 per power pt. that would have been a good start.

Now I did expect pvp in DCUO to be like out of the comics in some ways but it didn't, to me its to much the same as other games you know dry with no real threat to one another other than damaging each others armor up, so DCUO did kind of turned out what I expected it to be - an action based MMO with gear being the main prize.

One that needs to be added to this list:

1) Stop thinking that making MMO in the "just a game" format is the only way to make MMOs.

Go back to the original philosophy of making deep worlds where the object was to get the kind of player who wants to live in that world and not the player that wants to go in, play the content, "win" and then move on to the next MMO.

Disposable MMOs are causing a continuously rising sentiment of apathy about this genre. There is a reason that all of the first generation MMOs are still alive and kicking: Those designers created worlds to live in, not games to be completed in a few months. Emphasis was to keep players "for the duration".

Flaws and all, those first generation games possessed a scope (that extended beyond combat, combat, loot, combat) that vested players. Capture that, with a new coat of paint, and this genre will continue to grow and offer variety. Stay the current course that caters to the short attention spanned and quality and interest will continue to spiral.

MMos are not RPGs. They can contain one but they're different. They have to be a place you want to live not just kill things.

Yes getting back to the original concept of what mmoRPG's were created in the first place.

I'm hoping that DCUO's ps3 sale's an success beats the pc version by 98% that'll be awesome.

I'm a casual gamer I don't have the 12 hours a day to spend on an mmo, depending on my mood I may go month's without playing anything, mmo's in general are starting to get to exspensive to run (hardware wise) and it's that exspense that keeps me doing other things that are more important in my life then to buy pc's that can run mmo's at full graphics, but when I do play I like games that are more realistic and that require player skill an not a whole lot of fancy special skills and spells an gear to make you feel like you done something. these games ( WoW, EQ,EQ II, EVE, CoH,LoTRO, AoC, and SO) are the one's I bought played for a bit and threw in the trash literally.

I agree, and the one problem that people set themselves up with is getting their accounts hacked lol seriously how in the hell do you get your account hacked, no really what the fuck do you do on your computer to get an account hacked. I been playing mmo's for 10 years now an I have never had one of my account's hacked or had any problems with logging in to an account I haven't played for many years.

The western theme for red dead was great, it's nice to play something that isn't fantasy or scifi all the time.

My perfect MMO would take too long to develop.

OMG not another one of these's, listen if you cant afford to play this stuff  then get the hell out of online gaming or get something that doesn't require money to play like pogo.
