It would seem there is no way to elevate yourself beyond others, there is no form of name recognition, no way to be known as the richest, best, etc. Just pointless content.

The graphics and questing system are very good, but once you hit 80 the game just comes to a halt. Perhaps I am missing something here?

These are some good points but considering there's no GvG in the game it shouldn't be call Guild Wars 2 it should be call World Wars cuz being in a guild without being able to go against other guilds to see who's better then who does make this game pointless I loved GvG and why it's not in GW 2 is so stupid.

The metagame in GW1 was far far FAR superior to GW2 metagame.

GW was designed in the beginning with co-op in mind then it was redesigned making pve easier to solo now thinking back to vanilla GW (the first month from launch) was far superior to GW now cuz it did require skill to play now it just requires heroe's an grind. GW 2 requires all the above just without the need to think of what skill's you want buy or capture and you dont have hundreds of skills to chose from(thank god). GW an GW 2 are two completely different game's with no similiarities to each other in anyway, hell Tyria in GW 2 was completely redone but I'm not going to get into that right now.

good for you, statistics say otherwise.   I have seen very well played engineers (1) that did well, however, that is a rarity.

the typcial make up for sPvP is: Theif x 3, Warrior x2 mesmer 1/2 elementalist 1, ranger 1, necro 1 (give or take).  This is ridiculous.   Support classes are next to useless.  Yes, they hold points, however  they have terrible offense, and what typically ends up happening is it's a 2 v1 scenario and the support class dies.  They also don't hold points very well because of the lack of offense.  They are good at buying maybe 20 seconds.. MAYBE.  No, keep in mind this is just for PUGs.  Things will be different in actual pvp, I'm sure. I will not be playing in that actual pvp.

 

Also, I quit swotor due to the constant knockdowns, knockbacks, stuns, ETC... sPvP is no different.   Even with traits/utility skills that get you out of these things.. it does not matter.

 

However, support classes are excellent in WvWvW.. when  you can get in them. I played for 2 hours the other day.. and no pop. Which leaves my support class (trying to support in PvP) nothing more than a shield popper... 

 

In a comparison with  other Bg type maps, I give gw2 a ranking of just above SWTOR.  Every map is the same with different names for capture points.

 

also, some abilities need to be nerfed or the resource that they use needs to be adjust to prevent constant spamming (who's looking at you, heart seeker!)

Were you born yesterday PvP in every game in the past to now has always been a joke and thats the joke.

If the Zhaitan fight really is as awful as you say the thing I would do is make Zhaitan more like Tolkien's Sauron in the lord of the rings an enemy that you dont get to fight until this game is 100% complete.

GW2 has me frustrated at times.  There are so many things going on that I am confused and fumbling over the keyboard when I am fighting 2-3 mobs.  Dodging, timing my attacks, positioning, switching weapons, targeting the next mob....I know I am reacting too slow to be efficient.  I am trying to watch the mobs to figure out when to dodge but half the time I'm not even sure if the mob  is attacking me or my pet.  And when there are 2 mobs on me how the heck am I supposed to notice when which mob is attacking so I can dodge?  I am level 15 ranger and still feel like I'm a noob in combat.  I am definitely not flowing smoothly along.  Half the time I am forgetting to use my utilitiy skills...maybe I just bound the keys poorly, I don't know.

Anyone else having similar problems?  Can someone give me some advice on how to improve?

Use the shortbow and make circles around your target you wont need to use your utilities as often, the longbow has a slower rate of fire and is good with alot of mobs at once but not that effective for ya.

Worste money spend this decade, even SWTOR and TSW had more fun in the 1st 24 minutes :(

 

Commadores back in the day didn't have this feature nor did it exist at the time.

The gameplay may be good, put whats the point if the port is bad and has a lot of issues?

1. Only playable with gamepad. The mouse+kb controls are bad, very high mouse sensitivity on lowest setting, mouse acceleration. Virtually unplayable.

2. No third person view like in an MMO. You have to control the camera independently of your char all the time.

3. 30 fps cap.

4. Game assumes you use a gamepad and displays gamepad buttons. "Press (A) to loot corpse." etc.

5. Cannot turn my character in char creation preview window because the right gamepad stick IS NOT AVAILABLE on my keyboard.

6. Cannot bind my mouse button 4 and 5 because game doesn't support it.

 

Last time I have bought a game from this company.

I didn't have any problem with it oh wait that's right I bought it for the ps3.

Yes it's possible to play it offline just don't log into it I finished it completely offline.

There's no player villain factions to allow owpvp the Charr could have been but they redesigned them to fit the overall story of the game, maybe when GW 3 is in the works they might look at owpvp but I wouldnt hold my breath for it.

That they charge a monthly sub, making millions, but the only decent new content you get, is an expansion which costs the same as a full-price game. Most other MMO's give free updates all the time, yet considering the money Blizzard are raking in, there's nothing decent really between expansions.

The players are their own worst enemy - all the time they pay and accept this paltry offering, nothing will change.

Blizzard could easily put new stuff in their game every two weeks even. Let's face it, after the starting zones, it's the same respective journey for Horde or Alliance right up to cap. They could at least change the quests and content regularly. Isn't $150m a month enough to warrant giving us something new to do, or what else are the subs for?
