One should beware of these kinds of comments about "responsibility" as a personal disposition. Responsibility is a hollow and superficial device to make people believe they are in control of their own destinies as a matter of free-will and choice. Of course it is nothing of the sort. Instead the entire "responsibilization" rhetoric is positioned by those who control how we act and think. In effect "being responsible" means to follow a code of duty that is superimposed on people by governments, companies and institutions. (e.g. responsible parents and adults) It is myth and has no basis in how things actually get done.
That was a pretty pointless statement designed to make yourself feel more intelligent and nothing more. It really doesn't even apply to this topic.
Why should a game company be sued because some darwin candidate is too retarded to log off the damn game to take care of himself? That has nothing to do with your conspiracy theory matrix-esque rant about the illusion of responsibility and control.
Each society has different definitions of "responsiblity" that are derived from the common social values of said culture. What the general populace will accept as "responsible behavior" will vary a bit depending on which governmental body controls your society. So in that aspect you are correct....but other than that you are so off course it isn't even funny.
Social responsibility and personal responsibility are two different things. No one should be held accountable for taking care of a grown ass person that is too stupid to stop playing a F*ing game before he dies....that pretty much sums up the entire argument....no philosophy or in depth examination of social values and illusory sense of personal control required.
