I agree with you that these things should absolutely be tackled, but I disagree that this would be worthy enough to call Health Care Reform alone. I don't consider it health care reform until the items I listed are handled in some fashion or another. Even setting aside a Single-Payer system or a Government Plan, for now, these few items need to be addressed. We use our Government, keyword being "our", as a tool to provide education, police, firemen, military defense, and even transportation infrastructure. To me, it only makes sense to use it to help provide medical care as well. Hell, I'd rather have an institution that is known for overspending be responsible for my medical treatment coverage than a private corporation that only makes profit when they find loopholes to deny coverage to their customers.

Maybe you don't see it this way, but those in favor of a Government Option or Single-Payer Healthcare see it this way.

 

Now you seem to be coming at the debate from a financial viewpoint, which is certainly respectable. I'll be the first to admit that Obama stumbled big time on not having the budget and cost details worked out well in advance. However, I think that Obama is right in stating that true Health Care Reform would not only eventually cover itself after just short period, but would eventually turn a profit. The great thing about the Government turning a profit? They turn around and re-invest it back into healthcare. Eventually it becomes cheaper, our prices go down even further, and possibly there is money to spare to boost Research and Development. Sure this would take decades and decades of careful management to come to fruition, but isn't that when "our children" will be starting to rely more on medical coverage for prevention and such?

 

I cannot even believe that I am reading this from a human being intelligent as you seem to be. There are two reasons for this. One you do not pay taxes and just do not care where other people money is being spent. Two you have no concept of economics. When has the government ever turned a profit in anything?? They are trillions and trillions of dollars in debt!

You don't care that the government spends more money on things that they do not need to???? Where does this money come from??? China? The Federal Reserve? Do yourself a favor and read The Creature from Jeckyll Island. Then perhaps you'll understand where our money really comes from and you will definitely not be for a ridiculous bloated and inefficient government. Government failures are everywhere, just look at our public education system. I don't even need to post any facts just look at it. Complete and utter failure. Transportation infrastructure? You seem to have no knowledge of how our government works or procures it's funding so please pick up a book and figure it out.  Or you could just keep listening to the people who literally piss present and future tax payer money away.  I would suggest the former but I bet you prefer the latter.

Government run healthcare...from the fine folks that brought you such great programs that have been efficiently run like Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, and our own budget!  Programs that are running great and will continue running great for years!  Wait I just heard breaking news....all these programs are bankrupt or so deep in debt we can never pay it off!?!?  Now we want governement to run Healthcare too?!?!  Who is writing this crap?  Really?  Well we can just print more money when we need it right?  No, we can't?  It cause inflation further depressing our economy?  How come no one told me this?  Oh wait, someone did, basic elementary mathematics.

These people who disrupt these things like this are just idiots and then the Democrats are just taking advantage of it making the MAJORITY OF AMERICANS WHO OPPOSE HEALTH CARE REFORM WITH A GOVERNMENET OPTION look like a bunch of drooling idiots.  I've seen some fool on these boards with the 2008 election results as "majority rules".  A majority of Americans do not want Health Care rammed down our throats with none of our elected representative reading the bill and passing a bill that would, within a decade, wipe out private health care insurance.  Pretty simple how they do it, whenever you change healthcare providers whether it be by changing jobs, your company changing, etc you will be unwillingly forced into the governement plan.  Where is the majority rules on this part pal?  Or do you just pick and choose what majority rules?  Right now a majority of F'ing idots rules this country and there is no argument against that.

In terms of loss of human life 9/11 was a mere spec on the radar.  Hell in Gettysburg over a few days we lost 50,000 men.  It was a total disaster and I am not down playing it but there have been far worse disasters than 9/11.  The hardest hit was our pride and financial system.

How can something return that never left?  People barter goods and services all the time.  Look at craigslist there are all kind of trade this for that ads on there.  Ugh think before you post.

I boil it down to this.  Everything Reagan did Obama is doing the opposite.  Reagan laid the groundwork for a great boom of prosperity in this country.  Obama is laying the doom for a period of depression for this country.  The bigger governement gets the more it becomes a tyranny.  How long has the governement fought a war on poverty?  Decades?  Seems like we should be making some advancement with the money spent on it.  Sadly we are not winning that war.  Millions of people are doomed to a sub par life because of the way it is handled.  How people can somehow believe that government can do a better job running healthcare or anything else is beyond me.  Everything they touch turns into a massive bloated mess.  Don't believe it?  Look at our debt, look at medicaid and social security.  Look at the Post Office.  Look at the DMV.  Look at any governement institution and tell me your tax dollars are being spent optimally.  If you say anything other than, "No they are not" then you are either a fool or a liar.  There is corruption in the private sector and the public sector.  As bad as things are in the private sector I trust them more than I trust the bloated and inifficient mess of the public governement who takes my tax dollars and spits in my face and sends my money to the UN, to some lazey slob who refuses to work, or puts it in an earmark for his hometown.

Well Bush didn't knowingly invite terrorists to attack us.  Obama has knowingly put us Trillions of dollars in debt when it has been PROVEN htoughout history this does not work.  In the end though it's really not a Bush vs Obama or Repub vs Dem, it's about the people of this country against their government which is not operating in their best interests.  The government right now is not even operating in its own best interests.  Individual government entities are operating for their own best interests.  Human greed, gotta love it.

It wasn't the accusation so much as it was the payoff. When you pay someone instead of fighting the charges, it raises more questions.

I was working in a hospital and we had to go through a brie HR course before we were allowed in.  One thing they said was when looking at the opposite sex follow the two second rule.  If you're looking for more then two seconds you're staring and it's ground for sexual harrasment.  I've also worked in High Schools and Middle Schools and seen young teens that look to be in their late teens early twenties.  Was it stupid to look at an underage girl in the scene he was in?  Yes.  Do people make mistakes?  We sure do.  This is about the only thing I'll forgive Obama for.  Destroying our economy is something that cannot be forgiven.

Thats untrue, and I find it really strange that people keep saying this.  Did they not pay attention to the attacks on Hilary Clinton?  She was slammed for a very long time ..much longer than Palin.  What about John McCain in 2000 getting every accusation you could think of thrown at him by the Bush campaign?

to top it off, she brought every single piece of criticism on herself.  Nothing said about her was without merit.  I do think its funny though that the two politicians who complained the most about being attacked by the media are women.

What a lot of people (including even Christians) fail to understand is that the Bible is noy a history book of geology.  It is the written history and stories that God gave to certain people he saw fit to preach them.  Early man had no knolowdge of physics or the universe so all God said was "I created this."  By creation he could mean he set in motion the big bang or however the universe was started.  This basic fundamental misunderstanding creates so much friction between the religious and scientific world that just doesn't need to be there.

There is a simple argument against governement health care.  Governement has no concept of money or running a business, hence every governement program is broke or rapidly going broke.  The only thing they can do is manipulate the currency, borrow (printing money is borrowing) or tax more which all ends up hurting the economy.  They cannot balance their own budget yet scold companies who do not balance theirs.  They scold companies for giving out bonuses or pay raises yet do the same for themselves and their aids.  They cannot run a Lemonade stand let alone a trillion dollar health care system.  Easy enough to see why they cannot handle Health Care.  Don't get me wrong their is corruption in the private sector but a lot of it stems for fighting for government funding and favors.  Get rid of that and the system will be better off.

Kim's father died on the 4th of July.  They do missile tests every year on the anniversary.  It is unrelated to the American July 4th celebrations.
