Asda Story was pretty damn fun filler for a couple of months for me. |

Sounds like this could be one of those games just to play for the hilarity. |

I know the feeling, i havn't sat in one place so to speak for a long time, i'm in and out of games after a few months at most it seems, trying to find that game that can keep me. I just ordered Amnesia: The Dark Descent, so i'll play that, but as for MMORPG's I don't really know what to look forward to, perhaps RIFT. :/
But if you want something fun to play for a few months there's plenty out there, problem is your looking for another game to hold you like WoW. |

This thead definitely needs a bump. So far it's the only one I've looked through worth reading. Thanks for the information everyone. |

Five years later, and MMO's are still a joke. What a disgrace.
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 6/04/10 7:12:51 AM
I do kind of agree with some of the points the OP is getting at, and i do still have my strongest MMO memories from games like AC, in particular The Myth Of Soma which was doing similar things, even earlier. I don't necessarily require some developer to dig up that same old style of play, but in the past few years i havn't played a game where i have felt like i was stepping into the unknown, experiencing nwe things etc.
Maybe that's a personal thing though more than something to do with MMO's, maybe i'm just burned out.
If FFXIV fails it's highly likely i'll be taking a long break from the MMORPG market, possibly i'll nip back to give Guild Wars 2 a go because i neve did get into the original early on. Other than that though i'm not interested at the moment. |

All that talk about 70's arcade games makes me feel insignificant again, having only been born in '91. :( |

Strange, very strange indeed. MMORPG and The Mummy would never have made a connection in my mind anyways, but i'm at elast interested to see what it ends up coming out like. |

General: Company of Heroes MMO This Fall

I don't mind cash shops IF they aren't so heavily implemented that you end up having to spend more than you would on your normal subscription based game in order to be competitive. |

Final Fantasy XIV: FFXI to FFXIV – Jurassic Park to The Lost World
News Discussion « General Discussion 6/04/10 6:39:38 AM
Thanks for the great article, very well written.
I've been a lifelong fan of the Final Fantasy games, played ever single one of them, from number 1 thourgh to number 13, the only one i missed out was numer XI! So this is going to be my first FF MMORPG, despite the fact that i have been playing MMO's for over 10 years now. The reason i didn't play XI was simply because i did not have the money at the time.
That said, i did play a little, just not enough, and i know other who played XI. I hope XIV changes enough in the lore to warrant another release, and I hope first and foremost that it is DIFFICULT. If this game does flop however, i think now would be the perfect chance to jump on number XI, so we'll see. |

How many smaller MMOs will fall prey to SWTOR?
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 6/03/10 3:50:55 AM
I know Bioware are a highly capable team, but in the end this is a pretty different venture for them, so i hope all goes well, they will get a hell of a lot of subs, but it's mere speculation at the moment at how many they'll be able to keep. |

General Discussion « Darkfall 6/01/10 12:15:30 PM
This thread just further proves that it is now impossible to mkae a thread about Darkfall without bitching matches ensuing.
Hell i could make a post titled "Dakrfall is like a banana." and it'd turn into a bitching match. -_- |

Mortal Online: Game Enters "Final Release Phase"
News Discussion « General Discussion 6/01/10 12:11:15 PM
I wonder what they'll do when they get hordes of people complaining and asking for there money back? Seems to me like they are in denial, this game is not even close to completion, and they should not be asking for money for it yet. Simple as.
That said, i hope a miracle happens, and the game sorts itself out. |

FF XIII was worse than meh. It was horrible. But i don't really think it should be a sig of what were going to get here. |
