I thought  lotro earned the most improved game reward,  or one of them at least.  I find the entire story funny.

I guess folks like conan, i made it 2 weeks in beta and gave it up and never ever looked back.

Maybe it is time to "look back" and see why Age of Conan earned Most Improved.

love to know what has changed honestly >

My problem with Dragon Age wasn't necessarily the quests, it was the gameplay.  Perhaps I just picked the wrong class, but I couldn't find a happy medium between difficulty and micro-managing.  At the harder levels, you've got to pause and micromanage a lot.  I hate this type of gameplay.  I enjoy more real time strategy, which is difficult to do trying to control an entire team, even when you've tweaked the macros a lot.  And at the easier levels, it was just too easy and the real time action isn't the greatest.  So DA just ended up not being quite for me.

In some ways you hit the nail on the head for me.

I loved DA but I played it for the story. However, I hate micromanaging my party. True, the system they have is not bad but there were times I'd look over and one of my guys was just standing there. Or I would have it so that a character should do a certain thing such as take a mana potion but for some reason they just wouldn't.

I ended up playing on Normal or easy mode so I could have fluid combat. I'm on my 5th character and am eagerly awaiting the expansion but for plaeyers who are looking for oblvioin or dark messiah, they just aren't going to find it here.

I think the only crowd that will enjoy DA are those that played baldur's gate and NWN , i know i enjoyed DA playing on hard and my characters did what i scripted them to do using the tactics window the right way , it's not a action rpg and on the PC it's way harder it's the one i have anyways .

I know alot of friends hated the game i think they expected something else i know i enjoyed the story and the chracters just like am adoring mass effect2 , bioware just knows how to please me in gaming .

I actually feel good being without a mmo , i have time to play all the new games coming out and even old school games like ninja gaiden I,II,III .

Am not waiting for the next mmo to come out like i used too , tried Allod's for a few hours that it , went back to playing persona3 after.

with all the bad new mmo's coming , which dont seem like fun at all , heavy instancing and all maybe you should go back to maybe old mmo's still running .

just an idea .

I wish this game was pay to play to be honest i'll subcribe instantly , the cash shop needs are required to compete i heard so this might kill it for many , am waiting to see if changes are made .

Blizzard, they're still the best MMO company bar none.

CCP . . .

To be honest not everthing we read has to become a Mmo , i'd rather play something fresh and original nowadays .

For the record i hated the star wars game The force unleached i refuse to play that stupid game and for many reasons .

So i completely agree here with the OP , am not worried about bioware with Tor i think they will please many of us and thousands will still play their mmo when it launches .

Go Bioware !

MMOs are meant to be played 24-7 with random real life breaks.

Take that.

I think the GM's in Fallen Earth are the best out of any mmo I've ever been in.  They actually help you and answer your questions.

Help channel is for people needing help, it's not a chat channel to socialize.

Wish more mmo's used this way of monitoring chat channels , thumb up for FE for that .

indeed help is for help nothing else , i enjoyed my time in FE too bad to dont have time for mmo's right now .

What is the most distant feature of an MMO? That it is Massively Multiplayer, i.e that you are surrounded by other players when you enter the world. So how many of todays MMOs are realy Massively Multiplayer? GW and EvE is although they are rather old. The same is still true to Aion. On the other hand LotRo is not. Last I logged in there were two,2 !, other players in my area. It kept staying like that everytime I checked in on various servers. As far as I have understood this is true to Vanguard, WAR and probably a bunch of other major MMOs. Is this genre dying down when it comes to the AAA MMOs? What other AAA MMOs can truely call themselves an MMO; meaning they have a healthy population that allows you to feel surrounded by other players when you log in?

Wanna know where everyone is in LOTRO , simple level a character past level 45 and enter moria and head to 21st hall .

that  where alot of the folks on the server hang out , for various  reasons , to do a raid , turtle , bank and use the AH .

But this  was before pre  mirkwood , i lefted game shortly after mirkwood launched kinda burned out .

I think FFXIV will be a serious contender for 2010 for mmorpg's players looking for something solid to play.

And like the last FF online the game will deliver on polished and stability and great lore to boost . totally agree with most anticipated game of 2010

I have Demon Soul also.. Dont like that game. But still had more fun playing it then DA

I was giving you the benefit of the doubt .... until I read this ...

Go play Torchlight, it's simple, and doesn't require much thought ... right up your alley.

Haha Demon soul actually takes skill like DA on hard mode you just cant rush things in these type of games , please OP stop posting your making a fool out of yourself .

If you cant handle DA and Demon soul 2 of the best rpg's that have come out this year what can you play ??

Diabo , torchlight, titan quest , you fit perfectly with the Wow crowd

For newcomers my guess is you might have trouble finishing book quests because LOTRO has been out for some time now but least your class is one that most groups need to succeed.

Good luck!!

I believe they made a good amount of the book quests soloable.

they did, book 1 is completely soloable even the last boss .

I dont even want to talk about it any more. Because if this what people are calling a top RPG, then this is making me not want to play my PS3 anymore.

LOL! Ooo you want a good RPG for your lovely PS3 and you got Dragon Age: Origins?! XDXD You should get Demon Soul's and then got the PC version of Dragon Age: Origins...

Must be someone very hard to please...if it isn't WoW....

If you did just abit of rechearch you would of known by many reviews that the console version of dragon age simply does not compare to the PC version .

the console version is way easier and the graphics dont compare with PC's version.

if you dont believe me ask around

just a question there. i wanna play minster cause i enjoy healing very much.. now, i just as much enjoy looking cool in endgame. cant play char which looks ugly. - i red somewhere healing specced minstrels have instruments as theirs main weapon.. i dont wanna play to 60 and end up wearing flute or guitar or something..  r there any other weapons that r as good as instruments for healing minstrel in endgame?

nah minstrel dont actually use intruments as a weapon per say , minstrels can use mace, sword, dagger and small shields the intrument is in a different slot and complement the mintrels skills . the intrument will appear when using certains songs and skills be warned , on my lv65 minstrel i was using a lothrien clarinet which lower threat from healing etc .... each intrument give different bonuses some for more dps , threat reducer or power cost reducer .

Last thing though minstrel have the ugliest rad armor of all classes imo we look like Jesters in pijamas's lol, good thing we have social window in the game .

the class is awesome to play though start pretty slow but once you get mid level it really shines.

so u r saying for healing there is no better equipment then instrument>? or is there equally good mace shield dagger etc that can also have +healing or -threat and such?

at level 46 you can start volume2 , and get your legendary weapon and class item which for minstrel is a book where you can have + healing skill on it , if your lucky these skills are given randomally but no fear you can loot more of them or even buy one .

all classes in lotro get a class slot = minstrels get a book to put there.

the intrument have static attributes and the legendary are more interesting system as a new player you will get a 3rd age first then a 2nd and 1 age ..... good luck with that you need patience to get a 1 age or lots of coins they are pretty pricey.

Pretty damned late to be saying this about DA. Did you just get it for xmas or something? Most people who like the Single Player experience liked this game. So I guess if your a MMO player it mite be a be tad underwhelming. Overall I liked it though.

No I wasnt looking for a MMO feel. I just wanted a nice RPG. Iam bored of WoW atm, so I wanted to play a good single player RPG.

This game just plain old sucks.

The Combat is lame. I want Hack n Slash, not sum stupid auto Attack/Move crap.

The game feels like Guild Wars' PvE if it had been made Offline based.

The Cut Scenes are just too much!! I want to fight, not spend 10mins of watching blood stained characters talk to one another. I spend more time in Scenes in this game, then I do in Combat.

Also the Loading, makes this feel even Worst!!!!!!!!! Too Damn Slow!!!!!!!!!!!

 /Head Bang

Damn, you know a game has problems, when you have to debate between play it, or Demon Soul.

This game just plain suck arse

Dude, you say this game sucks, yet everything that you list as being wrong with the game are aspects of what type of game it is.

This is not a hack and slash, it never claimed to be.

There are cutscenes and a story, if you don't like it, fine.

Damn.

Ex. it's like saying counter-strike sucks because there are no elves. It never claimed to have any! ...Just because I want counter-strike to be elves vs. elfs, doesn't mean it sucks.

An RPG doesnt need massive cut scenes to be an RPG, at least it didnt until the JRPG became successful. Baldurs Gate anyone? Sure it had cut scenes but not to the extent of what im hearing about DA. As for the "hack and slash" RPG's ive always considered them more an action game with RPG elements.

DA:O doesnt even have very long cut scenes - what it DOES have is alot of voiced dialogue. MGS, Xenosaga, even FF games and most JRPG's have longer actual cut scenes.

The OP is obviously confusing voiced dialogue with cut-scenes.

I played through the Xenosaga series and it does have alot of Cut scenes loads of them lol . nice story though

Patience is key in DA:O , many encounters demands though and planning and using the tactics panels help greatly very few times are you ganna encounter single enemies Bioware made sure of that you are always overwhelmed by enemies.

Am still playing through the game taking my time between work and my gaming time and i think the game is of the best rpg's i have played in a long time and bioware always keep choiceand consequence in mind and cant wait for that to continue in mass effect2 .

the major problem with DA;O with alot of players they find the game too damn hard so go on the DA forums and you will understand .

Am happy with the challenge , mmo's  nowdays dont have any chalenges only silly grinds and timesinks.

To the OP how you can compare the game to Guildwars is beyond me .

I'm a 1 month lotro newbie, highest lvl toon is 28, and overall I'd say its a great casual fantasy mmo.  It looks great, has a huge interesting world to explore, has great lore and on landroval the community is about as good as you could ever find in one of these games.  And at $10 a month (if you choose the 3 month subscription plan) its one of the cheaper p2p games.

Its definitely NOT a pvp game, its not a sandbox, and I doubt your going to find any revolutionary game mechanics.  But I think its good when a game doesn't try to be everything to everyone--- lotro delivers a good fantasy world and leaves out the baggage that makes other mmo's a tedious frustrating elementary school playground.  I find it to simply be a good casual jump in and jump out game.

It's a great casual game but very boring end game content i endured it for a long time until i recently quit last month with my level 65 minstrel .

Feel funny to mmo free *giggles*

I have been thinking about going back to LotRO as well. I was on Vyrial or something like that server. I had a few  characters in their mid 20s-30s but it has been at least a year since i have played. My question would be should I come back and just start new characters since I probably won't remember where anything is and is the server I was on still at a decent population level as far as start over if that is a better choice it is not really an issue as I am pretty much and altaholic and even in WoW when I get fed up with the community I leave for a few  months and restart on a new server most times.

I would start over,  getting to level 20+ take me 2 days tops in Lotro and that taking it easy really but i know the zones well and played for a many years .

they revamped the Bree (man zone) , so it should be a slight different experiencethis time around for you .

ganna go with Eveonline aswell because i played it for so long and i know it 's brutal to loose pricey ships .
