Still think this game will fail? look at how many responses this post has gotten. The only way this game fails is if EVERYONE says it sucks and it doesn't hold numbers. If every mmo out there does that then every game is a failure. If your going to base the claim that this game will fail based on your opinion? well then opinions are like azzholes every one has one and it stinks!!!! get a clue!! One mans trash is another mans gold! your either going to like it or not! |

I have a friend who tried it for the first time and he honestly couldn't understand why I hate it so much now. I just shook my head and said "I guess if you never played the original you don't know what you're missing" So I guess I can understand someone playing it :) After all it's not a bad game if you don't mind the class/level setup... and, after all, it's still Star Wars :) It'll never compare to the old SWG but, if one hasn't played it before the NGE... then one doesn't know how much better it was then :)
To the OP: Sorry to hear you're leaving but glad you had such a long and fun run with EVE :) Take care and may you find a new 'online' home that gives you as much enjoyment as EVE did. They're hard to find.
U know I am not really fam. with the term CU or Pre NGE? I know there was some serious changes made. I know that at release not everyone was able to be a jedi. And I do remember there wasn't any kind of tutorial. but I didn't play long enough to enjoy pre NGE or pre CU. So I guess it is a matter of not knowing what I am missing. |

I just love it when people crap like this.....its not even in beta yet and already "its gonna fail!!". Star Wars Galaxys didn't fail even after all the changes that came to it. I play it and I like it. so does that make it a failure? it still has quite the following. EvE for the first 2 years only had 10K active players at any one time....its still going. if you want to compare any games level of success you have to compare it to WoW, and if you do that then EVERY game listed on MMORPG.COM is a failure!!! and if thats the case then move on back to your super nintendo and quit your whinning on these forums. |

Well they did hurt the game in my opinion. And with a lvl cap of 256 how in the world do you get that high with out macroing? it really sucked going into a high spwan area and never get a kill because the perched syncroed macro team would just kill everything...no xp. how could they even possibly think that they didn't hurt the game? Macroers preatty much owned the game. |

I left EvE as I have not found anything in that game that compares to what we had in the Curse Alliance. PvP out of Curse was never the same for me. NO I won't regret selling my toon. and No I won't be back. I don't miss the game at all. 5 years was enough. I was playing that sucky WoW for a while as most of my friends were playing it. I won't go back to that game either. |

I started on Harvestgain and moved to Wintersebb for personal reasons. I had a life mage... what I mean about them not being viable is that I used to drain life drain life drain life then life to mana life to mana thing. Just that they don't play like they used too. I really did love that game. the thing that made me mad about it is all the macro jerks. I miss the black spawn den. that was a fav place of mine. I believe I left the game in 02 |

Thanks Jaguar for the info. I will have to check it out. |

OK here is my 2 cents from a brand new player to the game. I believe that there is myth conception about the Jedi's, the quote is "the Jedi are all but extinct" MEANING that there are still jedi running around at the time of episode 4 5 and 6. We now know that the Jedi temple on Coresent was SEALED not destroyed. The Jedi Councel was still around and meeting in secret. the Jedi were scattered to the 4 winds of the Galaxy! Yoda and Obi Wan did not just hide they still had learners and they still did their thing! Granted the jedi stayed out of sight and worked from the shadows, after all they were still being hunted! and as I understand it Sith came out of the shadows to work along side Darth Sideous and Darth Vader. they had there own apprentices as well.....it goes back to the whole balance thing....the Sith used to be all but extinct at one time or another! Now as far as the game and Jedi's are concerened...I know that before when the game was first released to be a jedi you had to do certain things to be come Force Sensitive, My new G/F in real life was one of the first to become force sensitive. from what I understand it was practicaly impossible to play a jedi....whip out your light saber and every bounty hunter in game was after you! thats kinda lame! To many bounty hunters out there. I am playing a jedi and have been playing for 2 weeks now, and I believe that there can be a compromise! If I play a Jedi I should have knightly morals and ethics. and If I do something wrong or should I be or act any other way I should be punished some how...like be deminished in the light side, I should be tempted more and more by the dark side....same as a sith doing good. Jedi or force sensitive characters are like sword weilding Mages! so they should be squishy to begin with....and since their robes are their armor jedi should be able to wear a cloak as well robes! I would suggest that they be able to wear regular armor as well but game mechanics aside they probably wouldn't want to anyways...just as they wouldn't want to use blasters! Death and Death Penalty: Death should have more consiquenses! maybe to even out the whole Jedi issue if you die you lose your force powers and have to gain them back? or your clone is "born" with out Medi Clorians? for regular characters they lose skills? and if you die in space then your toon is born at a later time and not instantly? like a time penalty depending on how far you died out in space? deep space missions would have a sever time limit for your spirit was not able to make the journy to its new body right away? something of the sort. |

I thought this game closed years ago? |

It is amazing that this game is still going! it out lasted AC II and alot of other MMORPGs. This was my first MMORPG I ever played. and from what I here its not the same game as when I played. I was a life mage and I guess thats no longer part of the game. I have often thought about playing again. but I would have to start a new toon. I would have figured that they would have had server merges but they don't need to because there is still alot subscribers. And what is the level cap now? last I heard it was 120? And now there is fishing? Would it be worth it to check it out again? |

I played this game hard core from 2nd phase beta up to this year. I sold my toon. I had and have no regrets I was part of the original Black Omega Security Corp and an original Curse Alliance member as well back when the server broke 10,000 users on line. This game was by far the best MMO I have ever played....and I have played alot of them. If your new to this game welcome and enjoy...I hope your experience is as good as mine was. And make sure to Shoot at Evolution and BoB! and tell them Tivian sent you! FC's Sir Molle/Shrike is ALWAYS primary target!!! |

Anyone played the Star Trek FASA games?
Anything Star Trek « Star Trek Online 4/26/07 3:34:36 AM
I did play the Star Trek Role Playing Game from FASA. I also played Shadowrun. as for the Shadowrun game...its not even close to what shadowrun is all about. its just 2 mega corporations battling each other. no elfs no trolls no magic....it supposed to take place before the Awakining of the magic races in Shadowrun. No Sprawl in Seattle...and it doesn't take place in Seattle.....the game that they are "Calling" Shadowrun online is Shadowrun in name only!! the premisis for this Pre-Shadowrun story line is already a game that came out a couple of years ago....maybe you have heard of it...Anarchy Online!!! As for STO, It will be just like the Role Playing game. everyone in a crew will have their post and specific job. and that is what I love about the devs making this game as it is. everyone has their part to play as a starship crew...where teamwork is essential. |

OMG! PLEASE get a grip people. The game is still in development. they already showed screen shots of interiors of ships. they are talking YOUR PERSONEL Star Ship. Kinda like when they added houses to Asheron's Call. it came later....so what big deal. If your a TRUE Star Trek fan your not going to let anything diswade you from trying this game out.....my recomendation is to wait for a year or so, to see what direction they are going to take....and remember you will be doing planet side missions as well. I can't believe any one would compare this game to EvE, I have played EvE since November of 2002...thats including BETA and these games are only similar in that they are Sci-Fi games. EvE doesn't allow you to walk ANYWHERE....and further more in EvE your a POD pilot flying in your ship ALONE! in STO you will be part of a crew on board a star ship that will require team work to accomplish the missions put before you. This game is NOT a Player vs Player developed game. EvE is made by crazy cheating viking devs that want to PvP in their game and kick everyones butt. NO SIMILARTIES At all. You know what....don't bother trying this game after all...it will be less waisted bandwidth and there will be less lag for those of us that are true Star Trek fans. ROFLOLNPIMP!!! comparing this game to SWG and EVE!!! thats rivh |

You know Lordslurp I have read all of your post I don't like you and I don't like the way you talk down to other members. you don't own this board and I find your arrogance annoying, so my advice to you is to be a good little 10 yearold greifer and go play with your little friends. I have not violated any forum rules. This post was not intended to be a flame thread untill you spouted off. I am not impressed by your stars nor am I intimidated or threatned by anthing you have to say. So go tell your mommy somebody talked mean to you! cause she is the only one who cares about what you say! Thank you to all who are supporting my position on this issue. After 4 years of dedicated play I do believe I am entitled to have something to say about this. And I was merely giving my play experience and dealings with BoB and Evolution. There was so much more that I could have said. I have COUNTLESS instances where things seemed to be a miss. And I truly believe that ccp has not done enough to remedy this problem Devs and GM's Should not be in any alliance or any corp part of a major alliance. They should be neutral in all ways. other wise it gives the perception of favoritism. Hey Slurp I will be more than happy to meet you 1 v 1 in game. any time any where. |

By T20's own admission he knowingly assisted BoB corporations out side of the game mechanics which amounts to cheating. It makes me wonder what else he and the other devs have done before getting caught. A BoB member who left the allaince said that GM's were assigning priority bandwidth to BoB fleets during fleet combats. BoB corporations wining game events. specificaly a couple of years ago when the Jove Ambassador was killed and his DNA spread through out the EVE universe. CCP held a contest to see which Race ie...Caldari, Amarr, Gallente, Minmatar would collect the most DNA to be returned to the Jovian reps. Caldari's collected the most and won first prize. Second place was taken by Gallente, led by a player from Evolution. Second Prize was the first Tech II Covert Ops Cloaking device BPO. it went to Evolution. The Caldari even though declaired the winner in the event was to be awarded First prize and that prize was "To be named at a later date". It has yet to be named folks. but Evol sure enjoyed that BPO. I find that my confidence in CCP to provide a game with balance and fairness to all has faulterd. There have been numerous instances where strange suspicious circumstances have come up surrounding past success's of BoB and Evolution specificaly...and non of it has gone unchecked till now. Having game Dev's in the most powerful alliance gives one the perception of an unfair advantage and it is an unfair advantage. NO ONE LIKES TO LOSE NOT EVEN A DEV!!! CCP and Helmar say that Devs will play the game to get it from a players perspective. I question that logic. And I can honestly say what is the use of playing a game when anyone opposing BoB has such a huge up hill battle. I can no longer support or recommend this game to anyone based on what I know and the apparent lack of concern on CCP's and specificaly Helmar's part. Having T20 confirm that there was "Illegal Activity" going on in the game make me believe that all the wild accusations from the past are also apperently true as well. Well done CCP and Helmar...well played. YOU folks have to earn my trust as a customer again...which is not going to be easy. I loved this game and made alot of friends playing it. I had the best gaming experience ever being in the original Curse Alliance. and the thought of leaving after 4 years is not easy. but I refuse to play a game where all things are not equal. and obviously there not! Something more needs to be done. and your commitment to never let this happen again is not enough in my oppinion. I can no longer recommend EvE to any one to play. |
