Thanks mate! Long time FP subber here :D

Well all i can say is that by personal experience the server i was on the sith population dropped by about 50% after the first month. our 350 man guild dropped to a 160 man guild and some servers was so desolate that on primetime the sith mainhub had 5 players online..

Im not sure about the numbers but after the first month a higher ratio of players quit. Alot higher than most MMORPGs post first month!

85c is pretty darn hot, if it goes higher for an extended amount of time under heavy load your risking melting the board. Is the fan working, attached properly and clean? If so I would seriously take it back to where you bought it.

Those are GPU temps. They're alright, considering it's using the stock fans, the computer is "inside" the desk, and the 650D isn't the greatest case for airflow.

Im quite sure its the GTX280 as i have owned both the 260 and the 280 and attempts to overclock with lesser success due the heating issues and how unstable those cards actually are. Someone mentioned a blown capacitator and i think thats the issue really.

You can buy a GTX560 cheap and it performs very well. If you want a GPU with higher performance the GTX570OC packs quite a punch and is cheaper than a 580/590.

The GTX 470 is a great card and theres no good reason to change it.

Great pick on the motherboard btw. The Sabertooth cards are amasing!

But i cannot stress this enough that you should change to a i7 proccessor! AMDs arent keeping up the pace anymore and the i7's are simply amasing and thats coming from a overclocking maniac that only used AMD's for over 10 years!

Upgrading to a 560 isn´t really worth it unless you really needs dx 11.

Either you need to pay more and get a 570 or you should ask around and see if you can´t get a second hand 290 card from someone that is upgrading (or 280 works as well).

While a 560 is slightly better than the 260 it isn´t really worth the price.

The 560 is alot better than the 260 due to the cuda cores which is the big diffrence in GPU card performance. Also the 260 & 280 are very unstable cards.

GTX 560:

GPU Engine Specs:
CUDA Cores 384
Graphics Clock (MHz) 822
Processor Clock (MHz) 1645
Texture Fill Rate (billion/sec) 52.5
Memory Specs:
Memory Clock (Gbps) 4008
Standard Memory Config 1024 MB GDDR5
Memory Interface Width 256-bit
Memory Bandwidth (GB/sec) 128

GTX 260

GPU Engine Specs:
CUDA Cores 192
Graphics Clock (MHz) 576 MHz
Processor Clock (MHz) 1242 MHz
Texture Fill Rate (billion/sec) 36.9
Memory Specs:
Memory Clock (MHz) 999
Standard Memory Config 896 MB

Its the GTX 280 its very well known for heat issues and probably has some circuit problems by looking the video.

85c is waaay too high for the 280 becose unlike most NVIDIA cards the 280 is one of the few cards that dont handle heat well! You should swap it dude!

Sounds like either the Windows7 install is messed up or the Bios needs a reset and perhaps a hardreset.

You can start with downloading a Lite version of windows off a torrent site and reset the bios (thru the bios) then after use your legit Windows7 key. If that doesnt work theres allways a way to hardreset the motherboard usually by fiddling with the round small battery that sits in it. Its quite common that motherboards need a hardreset.

Any idea what MB it is? Is it a X58 board?

Ok, that is it for me tonight. I will try again tomorrow.

Even if the game actually went live right now 1 hour is not enough, lets hope they fixed things up in the morning.

They mentioned adding time but not today so probably tommorow or on monday.

Go natt! :)

Would love a Tera key if someone has a spare. Thanks guys for being awesome as usual =)

Darnit all out! Would love to get a key if anyone has a spare one!

Also you can have my firstborn child! :D

Theres no reason for a sandbox to have a story if its a true sandbox. Thats the problem with your point OP.

Also wasting dev time to make it story driven would affect the depth of the sandbox component.

The priblem is that people say they want all these things, then when companies make games that stray from the usual MMO path nobody plays them.

And nobody does things in MMOs just for the sake of doing them anymore. Like how back in WoW people would fight at Tarren Mill and Southshore, just for PvP alone. No honor points. No queues. No gear rewards. Just people showing up to have fun fighting the other side.

Now every game has to have "reasons" to do things. People only PvP to get better gear, or to get a title (like Gladiator in WoW).

Someone needs to make a game like Darkfall, but more refined

Care to make an example of a well known title? Becose sadly the only games catered for the oldies are EvE, SWG, and Vanguard and in some ways the EQ2 series that i can come up with on the top of my head.

Well Casuals are newcomers and theres alot of them. The reason why the casual vs hardcore exists is becose the old hardcore players industry has been overtaken by people that see WoW like the mother of mmorpgs and changing the whole gaming genre that we love into a huge themepark industry.

Offcourse we are mad yet the fact that we are called hardcore becose we want to work for our achivement, spend months exploring, leveling and setting up social contacts doesnt make us hardcore.. It makes us more true to the genre.

WoW hit this genre hard with the millions of high demanding casuals that dont understand our hunger for challenge and time consuming things that forces you to use your head.

Thats how i see it..

And casuals dont stand a chance in EvE "lategame". I think thats one of the reasons the vets love it so much!
Bethesda has gone too soft and the only thing they would be able to make is just another themepark. The TES and ME series have been dumbed down to the point where the depth and complexity is nonexistant.

Mostly due to the fact that most MMORPG players want a game they can enjoy for longer periods of time and right now even the newer casual crowds are asking for more depth and complexity as it prelongs the gametime by alot.

I think personally that the Themepark crap has gone too far and people are starting to open their eyes to the old school and sandbox alternatives.

DAOC or Vanguard would be awesome! Commentary with chat responses maybe? Good luck mate looking forward to it and a fun and great idea!

How are the following MMO's doing at the moment in terms of player base and content updates and actual playability?

Mortal Online

Darkfall Online

Starwars The Old Republic

EvE

Lord of the rings online

WAR

If your currently playing these games or just have information please share thank you

SWTOR is currently in a heavy decline in playerbase and 1-49 has enough content for most to be happy. Sadly the endgame has very little content PVP wise and not enough PVE wise.

EvE is running steady as usual and getting new good updates constantly. Its one of the jewels in the MMORPG market.

A WoW player is as casual as it gets and they tend to demand that well being and flame anything that isnt headed in that direction. The old mmorpg players applaud well made communities, exploration and learning curve and dont mind spending month to reach your destination. WoW was innovative and while its a well produced game it strives against so many fondumental rulesets of the non-casual fanbase.

My list and based on unbiased info from the forum members as it seems without listening to Casual WoW kids.

BAD MMOS:

Dark and Light

Warhammer

Age of Conan

D&D Online

Final Fantasy XIV

Rune of Magic

Tabula Rasa

Champions Online

Star Trek Online

DC Universe

Star Wars The Old Republic

GOOD MMOS: (Worth playing or trying)

Aion

Anarchy Online

Guildwars

Rift (Casual)

World of Warcraft (Casual)

Ragnarok Online

Lineage 2

EVE Online

Darkfall (PVP Hardcore) (Not for everyone)

Vanguard (Bad Start) (Not for everyone) (Getting Ressurected it seems)

Everquest

Everquest II

Dark Ages of Camelot

Ultima Online

Fallen Earth (Not for everyone)

Lord of the Rings (Not for everyone)

Star Wars Galaxies (PreCU)

We need a WoW killer becose the direction MMORPG's are heading right now aint looking bright!

We need a MMORPG that shows the majority crowd what a real game can be so this genre can thrive like it once did (pre 2004)

No im not being nostalgic.. This Themepark era has gone too far and players are starting to show it.

Themepark promotes lazy? Im guessing.

Well it promotes devs taking shortcuts and making it more of a easy-get-addicted-for-casuals-game. The devs have lost the sense of adventure and exploration and taking shortcuts for groups, auction houses etc. There is no community, There is no exploration and the way to max level is just a race!

Old titles gave us worlds to live and breathe in!

To be honest i hate WoW but the fact still stands that its a well produced game but it invited casual play into a hardcore genre.
