Man its insane...I did'nt really think anyone would actually do it...More importantly why would anyone do it?

I recently went back to playing EQ. I'm still having fun with all its current features, but then again the only problem I have is, there isnt enough people playing anymore. I mean of course I'm able to solo a lot of things now, currently 34k HP unbuffed, but I have trouble finding groups to do progression. That's the only downside. So I'm pretty much stuck with doing old content solo or running the classic missions and logging out.

It's still fun though. It's just a game I'm going to play as a time killer until there's something to fill in the void.

Well, if you guys like LDoN, currently on my server (bristlebane) I can hardly find a group that wants to do progression style thats quite similar to LDoN. The Seeds of Destruction expansion is basically an upgraded version of LDoN. But man it really sucks not being able to find a group to do anything, and I mean anything. You're lucky enough to find a PUG to do the classic missions they have out.

Funny thing is, I was just about to post a thread asking the player base that comes to this site if they think SoE should really consider doing some server merges. I mean Its getting really rediculous. Even if they gave us mercs to play around with, its just not very fun at all. Just think about it...Some missions have monsters hitting you for 5-10k damage and when they quad you're basically dead. Even the T5 mercs cant handle that kinda damage. You would really need a group to get anything done, but unfortunately you see less and less people playing now.

This is one of the reasons why I would wanna play a skill based MMO. You spec the way you want to without so much restrictions, wear and use whatever type of armor you want, mixing and matching. You're almost free to do whatever it is that you wanna do. An MMO with tons and tons of classes would be better off going as a skill based MMO.

IRL my friend was cussing me out calling me a noob and a waste of his time playing with cuz I quit. So yea, people like him is the reason I dont wanna come back and play.

Well, if you're looking to get rich off of armor and weapon crafting then you shouldn't bother so much. Just because every guild should have all types of crafters in em and you wont get much buisness. But on the other hand, if you find it very difficult to get a group to do your armor sets and get weapon quests, then crafting is an alternative. Some if not most crafted armor and weapons are better than the quested ones. The only time you will see crafteed items being inferior is from the raid or end game stuff. But even then if you feel like your raid gear isn't good enough you can pick up some raiding materials to craft yourself some pretty awesome end gear. And to top if off you're almost in control of the stats you want on crafting. Vanguard has by far the best crafting system out there. The only other crafting system I like would be from Ultima Online.

Well if you're not really a graphics person, I would suggest Ultima Online. There's plenty of starting areas, and your source of travel can vary. But the one very cool aspect of travelling is that you can "mark" a spot that you've explored, and can always come back to that very spot. IMO the world is still quite big, and there are so many unique special places you can find.

The only thing that will end is Barack Obama's first term as president in 2012. Nothing else is going to happen haha

I just think that UO would never be remade into a fully 3D game because they want it to still be the oldest and longest running MMO title (Guiness Book of Records) So if they were to remake it into a 3D mmo. The old UO will crumble and probably shut down. Sad because no other game will be like UO. The copycats just doesnt have a hold on people as much as it would with UO.

You guys can try out the new hotzones. Plane of nightmare should be a good spot for both of you guys to duo. I think you should focus on your combat agility and stability AA's. That'll help you out a bit more with your defenses.

Necro fear FTW. No matter how many adds you have fear is your best friend. I duo'd with my brother and we both played necros. We had 15+ monsters on us my pet took one his took another. Just kept fearing until they all were dead.

Trust me the higher your level, you will duo great with any class. Back before they increased the level cap, my DK was soloing level 52 6 dotters piece of cake. My ranger was kiting 6+ mobs all 4 dots level 46-50 no problem. You just gotta learn how to play your class well. So it doesnt even matter what classes you wanna duo with, every class works well with each other period.

Edit: I forgot to add a very simple and easy trick  if you're having issues with trying to split monsters up. Al you really have to do is aggro them snare or root one with necro or druid. Run ALL the other monsters out of their aggro range this will in turn make them run back to their spawn point. And VOILA the rooted/snared monster is still chasing or has aggro on you. Even if it runs off aggro range and is heading back to its spawn location, it should be singled out, all you have to do is re-tag it. 

I did this with my ranger back in Wardship of the Sleeping Moon zone/chunk. That was when my ranger was level 26. I was able to solo out ALL named mobs in that specific area and most of them were level 30-34 4 dot monsters. Piece of cake, although I have to say it only works in outdoors and not in dungeons UNLESS you cleared your area and the monsters in the dungeon have very small aggro range. But in which case you were at Ksavari Gulch or something which was in a crater of some sort if I could remember correctly, and should work out well. Try it out and enjoy .

What sever are you on because i would really like to see you solo the content i have mentioned,perhaps you could kite them all ..lol.

Dude up there says that his necro/druid combo works less and less as they progress in level and that's totally wrong. Put your glasses on jesus. And if you can duo heg the other 3 freaking bosses before him is gimp.

And yes VG IS solo friendly, only thing you can't do is raid as a soloist. If you're trying to rely on finding a group in a very low population game, soloing and duoing with a partner is all you need.

The higher level you get is when everyone is just wants to raid most of the time. And thats why I stated that you're going to be soloing a lot. Unless you're in a raiding guild.

Who said that every class can't duo,please link where i said these words,you can't can you.The necro combo duo will not work AS good as a DK /Shammy duo or  Warrior/Cleric duo or a Pali/Disciple duo..do you see the trend here...Tank/Healer this is the best duo you can have in VG.

Having two kiter and cloth wearers is going to get you in sticky situations especially in places where you can't kite.

Yes VG does have a low population and yes you will duo a lot but you cannot obtain the best gear in the game without raiding,it's as simple as that. I had a freind refer me to playing WoW. So then when we group we would both get triple exp or something like that....Still took me well over 2 months to reach level 70. Thats only because I played 2-3 hours everyday. But boy when I played by myself (cuz no one out there wants to group up and my friend wasnt online) It sure as hell felt slow. I did enjoy playing in the classic zones though. brought back some good old memories back in the day. And I guess I wanna keep it that way. WoW isnt a game for me anymore.

WoW Is way more hardcore than this game will ever be.  It's also cheaper and way higher production value.

WoW's the only game I know that people chose to lose their wives/husbands, jobs, etc... just so they could play it a little more.  Name one game that's more hardcore than that.

So before you start saying Darkfall's more hardcore...  play WoW to the highest level, and try getting the best gear and I'll tell you right now it puts this game to shame. 

Darkfall is a bargain bin game charged at 50 dollars.  It's a crime really.

I dont know why people complain about how bad the launch was. IMO I never really saw anything changed other than some class balancing and some minor bug fixes. But back when it first released was the best times I've had. There was PEOPLE in the game. Compare it to now, just barely (resubbed a month ago). They even slim down some very nice caves/dungeons. And the very extremely horrible silver/gold sigil crap from crafting. The beginning was the best time for me.

To me those "new enhanced" clients are pointless. I'm still more drawn into the original 2D client. This game was never meant to be a 3D game, all of its other features is what made it great. I've just subscribed last month and still love the old client. But there's a lot of things that changed in game. But I still enjoy doing the same old things all over again. Its still fun to play but you're not going to find groups to play with unless you're in a guild. And the funny thing is...There are still some really hard core guilds out there and wont accept you unless you're playing constantly.

In the game theres a tab where u can view ALL the guilds in that server, just look around and take your pic. They even show you which guild leader/recruiter is online.
