nice and balanced review..

I would point out you said it would take about on average of 8 hours to get assistance... that's pretty quick imo..

Blizzard gives you about 1-3 days

SOE upto a week

CCP up to amazing 4 weeks... that's why I quitted EVE... I mean with that slow response time when bugs happens it's amazing people bother to put in a petition... when  I started it took 1-3 days, last year my last petition was 27 days almost 4 weeks and CCP ofcourse came with a nice apology but it didn't actually help get my ship back a month later when I needed it preferable within a few days.

This puzzles me a lot since WoW has a much larger player base but we get help pretty fast while EVE has a tiny base in comparison... CCP should hire more people if they're having so much problems attending their customers needs.

hehe WAR won't let me down unless the content is bad.. I don't have high expectations for games and thus not disappointed so much as many here obviously get if the game turns out bad... there is not a dream game out there it's just and illusion.

The patchers over patch the same patches everytime you open the patcher, sometimes it won't even patch it gives errors. When you crash you gotta re patch the same patch that you already patched, yeah thats right the SAME patch over and over. Sorry man but the whole game is borked and completely bugged. The game isn't even released its still in heavy beta phase.

strange thing... haven't had much problems running the game but then again it seems to vary a lot.. some has smooth sailing while others are meeting the door... pity for those who meet the door so frequently.

2 months left for the release of WAR? hehehe nah it won't be out before later this year in about 4-5 months even their home page say Q4 meaning the last 3 months of the year, but if they run into problems it might get delayed it's not set that they will release the game no matter what... it's jsut an indication that they hope to be able to release it by then.. I would probably think an early 09 release is more likely since I know blizzards are perfectionists, so you have to rub yourself with patience...

my point exactly ... it's sad that people actually takes joy in kicking people that can't defend themselves..

I like pvp but never go for people that is low level it's no honour and you don't get a good feel to it if you're close to normal person... the real kick is to actually fight someone that is better or equal level...

I think that FC should allow people to gank anyone... however as penalty the ganker losses one item for every 5 lvl he is above the one he ganks to the guy he ganked. So a 80th lvl guy killing a 40th lvl guy would loose 8 of his best items to the player he ganked..

The problem with gankers they have no sense of honour and just the coward that would hit you or stab you from the behind in a real life fight they won't have the guts to go head to head one vs one unless they're having an army of people backing them up.

The reason to make some limits is for most people to enjoy the game not a small minority that get off by killing a low level player..

nah I think it promotes cowards to actually start fighting people closer to their own levels..

Could care less. Get some guildies to help you. Then again they would have to figure out what instance you re in.

what if I don't want to be apart of a guild? but I see your point to promote more pvp... but still ganking is lame and not fun for those getting ganked all the time.

You won't be able to gank people in WAR, either. Stick to ez mode, my friend.

if you didn't get the latest news they will prevent cowards like you to gank low level people.. and now this is fun to see a coward cry because he can't do shitty stuff towards low level people..

Solid = stable game.  With bad memory timings, the game actually ran.  People who are crashing every hour or even within 10 min of playing the game, it may be their system, and not the game itself.

Every game has its troubles at release, and instead of making people wait 6 months, maybe a year more, to release the game, they caved in to

YOU

and released the game.

Now everyone is griping about how it is not finished, and now that they are pushing 2 patches a week, they are TRYING to balance and fix it.

This is a high end game, their minimum specs are higher than 80% of computer users out there, so expect hundreds of people to complain about how the game is running.  If they have a high end computer, and are crashing, like I was, they need to find out what is causing the instability, like I did.

There is a SEVERE memory leak that has WORSTENED with the continued patches.  On launching, before I start zoning all over the place (which I'd avoid, but the game forces you to zone CONSTANTLY) the game chews up around 700MB of memory all to itself.  5+ zone changes and it's topping 1.5GB.  Invariably it crashes as it approaches the 2GB mark.  Keep in mind, I can run ANY OTHER GAME I own at max settings, as I do with AoC, without any errors.  Let me run through the list:

LotRO

WoW

Bioshock

Orange Box

Crysis

ET:QW

Mass Effect

Assasin's Creed

Hmmm, you're right.  It must be my computer, I just got lucky on all those other games.  Stop being a fanboy and recognize the problems with the game.  Hell, read the letter from the developer put out last week. THEY know there's problems with the game.  You denying it and telling everyone else it's our imagination is kind of, well, stupid since even Funcom sees the issues.  That's why we're getting 2 patches/week.

omg the level of stupidity if someone doesn't encounter problems it's something wrong with them liking a game... go eat an onion.

About 30% are canceling their subscriptions.  Yes it's a great game.

I have gone so far as to uninstall it with 10 days remaining.

30% of what? those who has said they dislike the game... let the game get's it 3 months initial test of time and then we will know.. that those people who say AoC sucks is a majority it's because most of the ones that like the game play and have no time to defend a game they like.

And there is no need to defend it either.. It's very simple actually... either you like it or you don't.. play or don't... I couldn't care about tons of trolls which is bitching everytime a new game is released because of everything. I mean if the game has been out for a few years and it still has tons of flaws it's another issue this game has been out for a month.

try to keep the quote right moron I'm not the OP..  and I've been playing EVE for 4 years so I know what I'm talking about. Constant double clicking is just to show how bad you play pvp in EVE.

Doesn't matter which direction you're heading unless your aligned to an escape point the guns/missiles will hit you anyway if you're fighting skilled people.  As for tanking helps but only a little if you're fighting against more people and that will you in most cases do unless you're a hit and run type of guy.

Learn to read asshole. The first part of my quote was yours but then I switched over to commenting on the OPs post rather than start a new post.

You played for 4 years and have no idea what manual flying is all about ? No wonder you are crying about sucking in pvp. Some ships really need you to manually control your ship to get full effect out of them but I guess you are too busy setting orbit and turning on guns and hoping you win. Too bad you can't crasp the concept of controlling range and transversal speeds to make sure you hit and your opponent misses. Since you played for 4 years and you know what you are talking about I guess that means since I played since beta I know more than you.

It doesn't matter which direction you are heading ? Wow. this really shows how much you know which really is nothing. Transversal velocity means ALOT and the truly skilled players know how to maneuver their ships manually to make sure that transversal are always in their favor. You probably still believe that speed and sig radius means nothing to missile damage too ?

When you qoute people and you posted fair enough with colour text partially but you changed and you have some white which seems like it was qouted from me you should put it underneath the qoutebox.

omg you're truly senil aren't you? I mean I haven't cried about sucking in pvp only that the game sucks as a pvp game. but then again think you would need some reading lessons yourself.

As for transversal velocity has little or nothing to say unless you are flying either  towards or away from enemy. As for orbiting I guess it's your strategy since you're talking about it really.

I recon according to you enemy will always see your rear when you flee from the battle to lessen the damage taken or a avoid dying.

What I was pointing out was the fact that no matter how you position yourself will not make people mis even if you double click crazy as you do I've tried that as well it is pointless and draws focus away.

As well s any obstacles in the way won't stop your weapons.

The amount of damage you save from doing this kinda is not going to save your arse unless you're one vs one and thus pointless. So I recon you don't fight bigger battles or are the 1st one out running away.

I believe an ass when I see one...

So knowing what setup he liked to use i fitted my ship appropriately to the task.

Anyway after patrolling the asteroid belts i met up with him. I admit i was doubtful i would succeed but ijammersactivatedCM jammers anywayjammerswere racial jammers highly effective against his ship] and i warp jammed him.

So in the end he couldn't target me most of the time or warp out as i was faster than him and could keep him in range for warp jamming. In time i caused him some damage till the rest of the corp showed up to exact some payback and his ship was killed.

Point is that on my own i did the following.

I fitted my ship properly after a few months experience.

I jammed his guns targeting sensors.

I jammed his warp drive preventing him from escaping.

Conclusion:- If i had to i could have taken him out.

don't  brag about your skills if you had only played if for a few months you had help from your corp how to fit the ship.. and you had practice... no one would go against a bigger ship without knowing a few things..

and yeah that was your only purpose to jam him.. but if he had proper tanking he could hold any tech 1 cruiser 1 vs 1 ... but ganke you had your gank party I guess it was not a problem and if he had lousy tanking I doubt you could take him out but if as the OP is trying to say is that if it's a veteran he

1. knows how to fit his ship

2. he knows how to use his fitting

3. he has experience

I've killed a bunch of silly guys in a BS no problem even with a frig... I mean some people in BS is not competent to drive it even if they are able... those incident is not so frequently now tho but it used to be lots of funny guys without a clue about tanking going to low sec and die..

A few questions.

1. Where did i say the corp helped me set up my ship?

2. I knew what he was flying and what mods he used so why would i need help?

3. Where did i say this was NOT my first solo  PvP attempt?

And funally i never said i had a gank squad i just  decided to invite some friends over to have some fun with ower old 'Friend'. I could have taken him as he was in armour and i had plenty of ammo at the time [his ship had virtually no tank as it was fitted for a warp in and gank engagement].

So yea not a great tank for me to break but then again it was my first PvP, i wanted to be farly sure for my first solo attempt once i proved to myself i could beat him i invited some friends over to finish him off. In the end tho it was a lot of fun for us all and we didnt see him again for a couple of months either.

And the reason i shared this story was that i was about 9 months old at the time he was over 18 months old. He was an experienced Ganker i was not experienced in PvP at all exept in the Theory of PvP [i.e. what to fit against certain setups how to aproach someone etc]. I shared this storry because.

A. it was my first PvP battle and i was proud of how i won [superior intelegence as i knew EXACTLY how he fitted his ship and equiped myself apropriatly].

B. He had more SP than me and more PvP experience.

Your story is a big hole in itself only yourself would believe that you figured things out by your own then had your corp jump in.. so yeah in a way you told me that you had help from your corp to make the rig.
