Really, that doesn't even matter as far as I am concerned. What's wrong with a regular player farming in the first place? I say nothing. ArenaNet Management was runniing NCsoft West when Aion was released and they ran that game right into the dirt. They will do the same with GW2. |

GA is a great game. Reminds me of playing competitive UT back in the day. I really don't have anything bad to say about the game or Hi Rez. |

Rift 1 million users and second largest MMO in the West

I would be very surprised if Rift only had 200-300K subscribers. I think its a lot more. |

For me, it was the delayed release that caused me to lose interest. I have been around long enough to know when a game is coming along on schedule. I am not willing to let myself get into a cycle of getting excited and then let down when the the launch date is pushed back. I just write these games off as a waste of time and move on. The "when its done" attitude has gotten old and in an industry as competitive as MMOs its really not necessary to tolerate. |

I will likely be unsubscribing soon. I havent had any fun since the 1.1 patch. The upcoming 1.2 patch looks even worse. |

I'm in the same boat as you guys. I leveled two characters to 50. That game has turned into a snoozfest. That and the 1.1 and 1.2 patches have gotten me to the point where its time to move on. |

I have been playing half as much since the 1.1 patch. It had a lot of senseless and enthusiasm crushing changes. |

Considering Rift.... Is it for me or a waste of money? (PvPer)

You might want to wait awhile. The developers are running wild with goofy changes and patches. The game needs to stabilize before I'm willing to invest any more time. |

Looking for an honest and up-to-date assessment of Rift.

The changes in the 1.1 patch have taken a lot of wind out of my sails for the game. I was enjoying playing then bam there are bunch of senseless changes that in most cases no one even requested and make no sense. Consquently, I don't have a lot of confidence in the process they use for determining what changes should be made and I don't have confidence that a class I invest time in will be basically the same in a month from now. All I know is that the two callings I liked playing are no longer fun and I'm afraid to level up other callings for fear they will be messed up in a month or two with another stupid patch. |

Buy it, pvp is not lacking in this game. I play games almost exclusively for pvp. Its turned out to be the best game I have tried so far. Time will tell if it gets old but the more I learn the more I like. |

Definitely a go. |

I have played in the past few betas. If you have played a few of the MMORPGS released in the past several years then you have most likely done everything in Rift or something very similar. There really isn't anything new in the game. Its more of the stuff people are tired of doing. Trion seems like an excellent company and the game will probably get a lot of subscribers at launch due to there being a large number of players in limbo waiting for something new to come a long. Ultimately though, I think players are going to get bored and jump again as soon as some fresh and innovative comes along. I went into the game really hoping to like it but just couldn't get there. |

I think the reason for the slower release date for the Western markets is Bluehole's uncertainty over using the NCsoft model of centralized development with minimal localization for individiual markets. With the complete failure of Aion and really all NCsoft games outside of Asia I think they are worried more market-specific customization needs to be done for a game to be successful worldwide. My guess is that the Western release date is going to be highly dependent on how much market customization Bluehole decides to add. |
