The guy is suppose to look like that on purpose, theres plenty of normal guys with helmats in the game , sorry bro i play the game for fun ,not to hunt around trying to find things to make the game look bad , which is pretty easy to do in any game

Than go find another npc that looks like that , funny there isnt any like i said the guy is suppose to look like that . if they where  all like that i would agree.

If you feel the need to take something that any person with 3 brain cells can see was an juat done to add a little humor to a diplo quest line ,and try and act like every npc in the game is like that , than fly at it

I never asked how many brain cells it took to see things the way you do. I assumed it was somewhere in the neighborhood of 3, but thanks for the confirmation.

Big deal you found 2 or 3 of the wee folk with over sized helmets on, reminds me of people that listed NPC's with no body and just a head floating there as a bug , now ive been playing this game for over a year now and i know theres a 3 or 4 npc's ive seen that are like that but for the life of me i couldnt tell you where they are, because out of 800 to 1000 npcs i dont exactly stop and cry my little eyes out just because a few arn't rendered right  i find it funny they  would list that as a bug and than fail to tell everyone that theres only 3 or 4 in the whole game like that

Same as the wee folk with the over sized helmits on for whatever reason they stuck some in the game like that , wiether it was for comedy or some person actually screwed up , who cares when its just a few out of 1000's

Its like saggra said anyone can go into any game and if thier looking for faults or little things that are out of place there not hard to find in any game

Lol have fun in 2008 you guys are in for another year of major dissapointment . you guys should lower your elistist standards a little and maybe in the next 10 years or so they might make an mmo you people can enjoy

- Combat animations and spell effects are really horrible.
- Any voice acting in the game is soooo bad.
- Music in the game is just bad and gets on your nerves.

The list could go on but Vanguard just feels like it was made by some college students with no artistic skill at all and theres sooo many bugs in the game and doesn't help that theres noone ever around so feels like your playing on your own.

I don't know what people see in this game but i doubt it'll be around for long.

Most of the people declaring a miraculous improvement after the most recent patch (and every most recent patch before that), are the same ones who declared Vanguard was runnin' nigh-perfectly at launch in the first place.

 

So at the very least be a lil skeptical of the random 50%, 300%, 40%, 3x, etc. figures tossed out in regards to how much Vanguard has improved performance wise every patch. You'd figure you'd be runnin' at 100 FPS now with instant-chunking and no hitching. Not so, there's still random FPS with frequent dipping, there's still hitching, and chunking is still a great reminder of why other developers toss up load screen artwork when a new zone is reached.

It ran like crap for you Sepher i happened to buy a 4000 $ computer because it was time for me to upgrade your right i havent noticerd much of a proformance gain myself but i never had a problem with it in the first place.  You think i would still be playing if i was having trouble playing on a 4000 $ computer ,  i would trash vanguard just as fast as any other game ive trashed and theres been a few in my day

Do you really think they will ever get chunking so that you dont notice it . lets see whats worse 40 second loading screen or pausing for about a second without ever leaving the game For all the bitching and effort you put into getting people to not try vanguard for themselves why arent you playing one of these other games that are so fantastic and bug free and run like a dream on a calculator

No they changed it you get xp from every item you make now , i did my carfting at the start and now its fully 5 times easier to get xp and rep , my level 50 crafter has about the same rep as a level 20 crafter gets now

It's unfortunate that you are missing the "other half a brain" required to see that many poeple still experience a multitude of problems in this game.

I have not put together a comprehensive post about my experiences since returning yet, and I don't plan to until the free period is over and SOE has had an opportunity to address the issues most recently introduced during GU3. I will however say that I am still experiencing MANY bugs and stability that is worse than it was 3 months ago. Like I said, some could have been introduced in GU3 and since they are willing to give me a free period to try it out, I will give them the opporunity to prove they have made good changes.

You go ahead and put together whayever you want there  buzz  me and my wife could careless what you think or what you experance we both love the game we both run it every setting maxed you think we care if you or anyone else lags My son plays On a old AMD 3200 2 gigs of PC2700 ram and a X850XT and even he can get it to run pretty good on balanced settings think we care if he lags , not in the least we dont exspect that computer to run the game very good even though 3 years ago it was a pretty good computer

Ya we experance minor little things just like any game we've ever played we just choose not to be whining little babies about it because we see the same perfamance issues and bugs in any game weve tryed

Well I have to disagree with above poster, SOE signed me up for a free month and after hearing about the progress they made from update 3, I decided to give it a shot and see what kind of performance improvements were made. Well, finally got everything reinstalled and patched back up last night and here is my view...

When I last played, I couldn't even run the game at a balanced setting and get a good framerate, I logged it today, bumped the graphics all the way up (with the same PC) in a city (Tanvu) and WOW! I can't believe how well it is running now. Now turning it up all the way did start to stutter my graphics a bit so I just turned them down one notch from higehest quality to high quality or whatever and I get a great framerate. Since I have a free month, I am gonna spend some good quality time in game and if a lot of the problems are gone, SOE might just have sold themselves a new station subscriber. I Currently just play EQ2 from SOE but if I am gonna play 2 SOE games, I will be better off getting the station pass and then I can even log into EQ every once in a while too!

 

You cannot disagree with me since I was only posting my experience with my system.  You are like a lot of others out there who are not experiencing the hitching and bad performance. I, on the other hand, am in the group with many others who do not see an increase in performance.  The game just runs bad for me on balanced settings.

 

My computer specs are as follows: E6400, 2g Ram, 2 x 7900gt (in SLI).

Unlike many, I was really looking forward to playing a game with improved performance. Unfortunately that has not happened for me.  Your mileage may vary.

But your right vanguard is strange that way my system runs the game awesome ive never had a problem with performance but at one time the CTD with my 8800GTX where unreal , but they seemed to have worked that out ,

These are loaded questions, and there is no way VG is [Mostly] Fixed. 

Chunking is still very bad and hitching is everywhere.  It is sort of pathetic.  This game is like it is in a regular 1st or 2nd beta.  It is not alpha like at launch however.

This free trial will give let you see that all these "Vanguard is fixed!", "Vanguard is better!", "Vanguard performance problems are gone!", " I am going back to Vanguard!" posts are not true.

Personally i like the music in vanguard, but really most games i play the music is turned down to the point where you cant even hear because good or bad i find it distracking in any game

Blizzard was number 1, is number1 and will be number 1 in 2008 as well.

So what else could it be then except Starcraft Online ? 

 

My guess is that with Starcraft2, Blizzard is trying to lead our interest on what their next big mmo is...

Someday you will have a computer that will  play Vanguard , and than mybe you can play AOC and warhammer and  even darkfall if it ever comes out , must suck to only have a computer that plays WOW

At 25 dallors per transfer they probally make more off that than there subs , My server was a high pop server but over time most people did transfer and its now a med pop server and you still get lots days where your ping is high , over all it was ok but it still happened for whatever reason from time to time

Give up your crusade we've all played other games  If you have such a problem with high pings in vanguard than your free to hit the cancel button that is if you even play it . Like i said it dosent effect me and i actually play vanguard go figure

Erm the update has been live for many weeks not only on the test server which ALL vg players can access but before that with the guilds who signed up for raid testing.

Never mind that it takes about 5 mins to screenshot and post at best.

As a EQ1, E2, WoW and SWG ex gamer, I can tell you that this much content has been patched in those games so your claim is just ridiculous at best.

And rush the raid content? WTF its over a month late, lol!

The last time i played WOW they couldnt even patch in the same holiday content as they patched in  the year before without borking there servers for 3 or 4 days the server lag would be so bad you couldnt even use a vendor properly

i could careless what happened on the test server i havent talked to one person that had a problem with ping in the game

edit: ok my bro finally logged in to the game . his guild is doing the new raid content  And he told me its not bad till you get about 60 or 70 people there all at the same time than pings do start shooting up  , but like i said ive seen it in other games many times you can pretend it dosent happen but i think most people know that it does
