I started with Vista 64 and have not had one single problem.  There were a lot of people fooled that got Vista 32 that had problems from the start.

Talk about a trully worthless OS.

So in answer to some of the comments, yes Vista was incredibly stable.  Yes it works great on games.  The Vista 64 version, that is.

The 32 version was designed to screw people out of money.  This is my opinion.  It succeeded wonderfully at this task.

Here is a good rule of thumb.  Do not purchase anything from Microsoft until Service Pack 1 is out for OS, or 1 year has passed for software.

You will not have a problem if you follow this rule.  Unless you got 32 which means you didn't read anything relating to the softwares and did little to no research.  Let the buyer beware.  You DO NOT get what you pay for anymore.

Only thing I can suggest after all this...do not have another review by Joe.  He has little to no credibility on this forum anymore considering the travesty that MMORPG contributed to by not removing the problem and leaving it removed.

We don't know if he lied or not.  But why read more crap from him when we can choose not to.  His opinion is at odds with the folks involved and so is his validity in the subject matter based on how the entire matter was handled...poorly.

Retracting the review would have been the best choice.  Posting it again on the front page was a great big PISS OFF to the people who comprise your audience.

Frankly why would customers put up with that more than once?

WO suck  Aion doesn't....just to start

PVP instances suck, PVPVE open world does not

WO ruined an IP loved by millions, Aion doesn't have an IP to worry about

This is pointless there are a bazillion reasons why warhammer sucks.

There is one overall reason, Aion is  fun.  Warhammer Online is not fun.

1. Its Star Wars...the IP is known and loved by millions

Except that it isn't Star Wars. It's KOTOR. It has almost nothing in common with the movies.

KotoR has been more popular that SWG with almost all the SWG monthly subscribers put together.  So if the game is like KotoR instead of SWG this is an incredibly good thing.

I hope the game has Absolutely nothing to do with episodes 4-6.  They were great 30 years ago.  It's 2009.  It's time for the next game.  SWTOR has the chance to be that game.  By being NEW.  Not by doing the same tired old crap.

thank you!

WoW

I guess I have to say something negative or bad to stay on page one.

Okay your all poonuggets with no sense of fashion.   THERE!!!!

now post in my thread already!  sheesh

I got past the patch problems by reading the top thread on the main site.

I played through the first 10 or so quests learning how to do everything.

Great newbie area experience.  I still do not understand equipment slotting but I'll learn over the course of the OB.

I'm looking forward to getting off work so I can play again.  I had fun so far.

That's my assessment after 2 hours in game.

they've already said you can download w/out paying

Has anyone completed the download and actually entered the game yet?

thank you Junzo

I got a key, i'll use it tonite and start the download, working during the week so it has almost 24 full hours to DL.

Hope these keys work for ENGLISH version of game.

Anyone used them and playing yet??

Comparing War's combat failings to Wow, leading on to Aion

I was just discussing this with a friend. We said when we tried War one of the main reasons we couldn't stay was the combat mechanics would never let you excel yourself againts other players or mobs. It was a case of hit this skill hit that skill, movement and timing never really seemed to be apart of combat. For example a mage in wow can excel himself and theres a certain amount of skill compared to War, he can blink, slow the target, crowd control another target and maybe take out all three if the opponent is slow on countering. If you came against 2 ppl in War the outcome would almost always be the same. There just never seem to be enough tools at your finger tips to work with.

I think I see what you're trying to get at... but you're not quite there.

In wow you can blink or slow the target or crowd control... yes.

In war you can silence, disable, root, pull in, and all bunches of other crap. Many complained it was too much cc.

So from your example is not that great. Now if you want to complain and say the skills in WAR were a lot more brainless due to a TON of the cc being insta cast, that's a different story.

Now maybe I just missed your point completely and you mean to say the game never let you beat multiple players at once from skill... that's something different also. But yeah, bad example @@.

Describing WAR is really simple.  All of you are overcomplicating the issue.

WAR sucks.   See how easy that was?

I've had a great time in the last two betas.   What they have done isn't new, but what they have done they did RIGHT.

The game is a joy to play.  Good story, fantabulous customization, good PVP, great PVE, excellent PvPvE.

Getting to Abyss is enough of a challenge to make it mean something.  Depending on your class.

You will get there MUCH easier with certain classes than with others.  Getting there with the tough classes means SO much more.

It's fun.  Plain and simple.

2pm CST

I'll be taking off early today ;)

I like the tiny itty bitty toons.  It's fun to abuse somebody in a itty bitty toon.

Same reason so many rogues in wow were gnomes.

gonna make a itty bitty teeney wheenie Templar.

Poor design. I hate restricted games like these.

They need to UNLEASH the player! NOT leash them!

Kthxbai   well, have fun playing something else.  See ya!!

Personally I go to a specific game relailer and purchase the pre-order for $5.

This generally will get me into some form of the beta or early release.  Once I get in and play the game I determine if it is worth the $50-$60 price tag.  If not, I either get my $5 back or transfer it to another pre-order.

Works well for me and if I forget to get my $5 back, it is a small price to pay to save $60 on the game and $15 on the monthly.

Problem is most retailers will NOT refund the 5 bucks.  Two examples I can think of without even trying, Gamestop and Best Buy will NOT refund the pre-order charge on MMO's.

Amazon is completely free.  Just cancel before the street date and your good.  ZERO charge.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/feature.html/ref=amb_link_84554451_3?ie=UTF8&docId=1000386371&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=hero-quick-promo&pf_rd_r=1WR3QHBJ3T3EQNSQC7TJ&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_p=481585071&pf_rd_i=B000VL4J9Q

Click that, pre-order from Amazon.   You get access to the beta this weekend.  If you do not like the game after playing it all weekend cancel your order.

Total charge = ZERO

I've posted this about 5 times now.  Try reading the AION forums instead of posting it out here and you would have seen this a dozen plus times.

I'm considering charging for this advice, amazing how many people refuse to read.

Easy way to determine validity of this offer.

Does the lifetime subscription come with at least a 1 year gaurantee of service?

If it does then it's a great deal and everyone should jump on board.  If they are not giving at least 1 year promise, there is no point in doing it, they have no confidence in their game.

That's like demanding a guarantee from the Stock Market. They can produce their game with the intention that it will run forever, but they can't control the millions of consumers who play MMOs.

Given that CoH/CoV is still going, I would be very surprised if this game didn't last at least 2 years. I think your 13-month payback period is safe for this one, given all the beta attention and buzz on this site. Hell ,even this girl at the checkout register at WalMart is excited about playing it...

Are you getting stock quotes from the checkout girl at Walmart?

Gamestop will require a 5 dollar downpayment which they will not refund.

Best:  Jumpgate classic couple months after beta, great group of people

Worst:  World of Warcraft - biggest community of asshats you'll ever have the misfortune of gaming with
