As said previously, just ignore those people that acts that way, they're only there to get their satisfaction with people responding to their idiocy. Heck, i didn't really see many of those as a mahirim the first month, i guess i were lucky? And yeah.. As Agricola said, AoC have such an awful community which makes the barrens in wow look like a bunch of mature men talking about quantumphysics.
Sidenote: Agricola! Where did your links go? ! |

How old school of an online gamer are you?

I'm sorry to burst your bubble but.. This is mmorpg.com. What did you expect? I've had a good read though. I feel that im somewhat too young for some of those games everyone is reffering to, i haven't played Zork as an example.. And i've never heard the term "grue" before though Mundane i've had! Which surprises me.. But i guess hanging around Nwn did it for me.
Kudos for starting this one, but it would have been better if you knew that the people here usually flame for no particular reason and wave around their EP's (Funny how experience points became E-peen over the years huh?) I won't say that i'm a "old-school" player. There is no such thing.. People just started their gaming at different stages in their life, and i see no honor in being a Pen & papter dungeons and dragons player for years, yet that's who i am and i won't flame people who haven't tried out the little older games. Heck.. Generation changes sadly, but people can't stay stuck in the past.. No wonder the games are so awful nowadays :p Enough ranting from my side though. This post probably makes little to no sense. But i wont edit nor fix it.

But yeah, when i used to play i got pk'ed several times though none of those were gloating about it and rubbing it in my face. Only when i pk'ed o.o Except for when i went to copperfield as a Mahirim and ravaged some newbies there, it ended up in a 3 vs 20 match! It was so awesome to see new players co-op against me and two other mahirims. |

Haha yeah, that happened a few times under the month i played, both from my side and people i partied with. "Watch your back. Even your closest ally could stab you in the back" Im glad to see that Darkfall is going in the right direction. I might try out the trial (when it comes) to see which improvements. Or just sub for a month. I've had plenty of fun in this game even though the bugs and hackers (i were in SSR for those who knows who they used to be) And we met plenty of hackers. But alas! I had fun, which is really the only thing that matters. It seems that i should have an eye on Darkfall still. Cheers - Atyor, former member of Silver Sun Republic |

Thank you. It seems that people seem to forget that this site do cost and needs money to keep being up. Personally i don't mind ads, heck.. I've managed to snatch trials/see games i haven't tried yet. The amount of ads are enough though, and they are getting way to.. flashy so to speak.. But i'm all good as long they don't lag my firefox beyond recognition. |

I actually got stuck with the whole "Eve has no story" part. Is it just me, or does eve have a very insane lore? I've read so many stories about wars, the sides doing this and that and never getting bored. Sure, i can take it that some doesn't like Eve just because it has a steep learning-curve (Yes, it's not you that are being stupid and stating that it sucks, you just don't understand the mechanics quite yet.) Heck, i still have plenty to learn in the game. And on a few sidenotes.. Don't autopilot, it goes ten times faster donig it manually. You have lots to do while waiting for the skills to get completed. You do not have to wait a full year to peeveepee with the rest of the people in no-sec. And viewing it as a "screensaver" or being boring, dull, stupid, idiotic and so forfth is just a personal opinion. If you don't like the setting, the enviroment (which is not "the same everywhere"), the missions nor the mining.. Then, what the heck are you doing in Eve? Or better yet, what the heck are you doing in high-sec doing nothing but fiddling your thumbs? If you don't like anything of those, just head into no-sec and smack people around, takes what.. two/three months until you can battle as you desire? Join a pvp corp and have some fun.
And for my personal opinion i guess. I like eve, the skill system is good, makes everything easier for us "casual" gamers. I love mining and salvaging which is were i found my duty in Eve and for my Corp. I've been through wormholes, seen low-sec, gotten blown-up a few times and seen huge ass ships. The ambient sound is awesome and fits the game itself, and i also love reading people stories, the actual stories on the site and the books. There is plenty of good stuff popping out which is worth reading if you're into sci-fi. Good graphics, which has no importance, but it's neat eye-candy anyways. Good learning curve, much harder than the regular leveled games/pretty much all other mmo's out there. And probably more stuff i can't recall at given time. But that's my personal opinion, everyone is entitled to their own. It's good that not all like the same stuff. And i also want to apologize for my english, it's not my native language :p |

This site has come a long way (not saying it's good or bad) And it's my source of information and random rubbish. Atleast im lucky to not being one of those grumpy "vets" that lurks around.
"Oh, you 09'ers should have seen back in -03 when we had to kick the modem to make it work. (i didn't get fiber til much later due to location) All this fiber and such are just fancy mumbojumbo i tell you! " And now i miss the screeching from the modem :| |

Well, i dunno about you guys. But have you heard about any girls running around in high heels? Nope? Thought so. I don't care if the op had another reason for why he doesn't like it. But it's highly unrealistic (even for a game) where gals actually run around in shoes like that. Sure, it looks sexier i guess.. But still. You guys get my point.

*shameless bump* I actually thought there were mostly 05'ers and up that were lurking around. This made me somewhat happy in a E-measurement.
And Admins cheats and shouldn't count! You guys can alter whatever you seem please! :D |

And back to what you said, some people (like me) Create them out of a specific view, as my chibi character. She had to be shemale. But yeah, i do agree that some that have the reason "i do female toons because i do not want to stare on a male ass all day" should really reconsider why they do play games <.< |

Being a female reviewer doesn't give cred points! :D
But yeah, i used to love DaoC, maybe i should give Aion another shot really. I didn't really get into the "feel" of it. I'll see what i'll do or if there will be another beta batch thingy laters. |
