This has to be a scam, I wouldn't trust it or click on anything that was included i.e. link or attachment. If you have already you may wanna run a virus scan or 2, it could have been a keylogger. You may even want to let Gamestop know, they may send around a warning to everyone.

I have recieved my official email from Gamestop.com and it should include a "Unique Code" and also some information about when and where you can download the client. The email subject line was GameStop Special Offers and sent from gsorders@email.ebgames.com

(for those of you that don't know Gamestop and EB games are owned by the same company.)

Also for those of you that have gotten the official email with your unique code, I logged into my Funcom account and placed it in the activation box, it then said my account had been credited with the mount I was suppose to recieve and it would be there when I logg in. I am not sure if it was ok that I did that, and I am not saying to do it but it worked and I can only assume I have officialy used my code not making it worth anything to anyone else.

Lastly the only link that should be in the email is https://register.ageofconan.com/downtime (and its down till May 2nd)

Hope this helps

where da hell did this post come from? lol

Agreed, this post has nothing to do with the original post, stick to the topic.

I really hope so.

I have read a lot of articles and watched a lot of videos about the gameplay and the gamestyle of Aion.It really looks promising and a lot wow and L2 players are bored with these games and are looking for the next good mmo they can play.

For their bad there is none "good" mmo except these too right now and i dont think  Aoc will make it happen.

But with warhammer and expansion of wow coming these players (and their are making a huge number) will just go to the game that will come out first and is "great" ofc.

I really hope that Aion will come faster than the rest warhammer and wotlk cause imo its a huge opportunity for a game to get many subscribers now that there are so many players frustrated from wow.

But i really believe that Aion will get the huge community as wow has right now.

Cause the community is the one that raises one's game prestige and makes a game appreciated and well known.

What exactly does the next "great" MMO mean? By the end of 2008 there will be a good handful of great games availble, I am not sure what determines its "greatness" though. Hopfully your not making reference to the amount of people playing a game because alot of the games with the most people playing them is what ruined them.

Winners will be wise to keep this date/time secret of course as they will only ruin their own chances of downloading if they leak it to all FilePlanet premier members!

I have the client installed and patched (from the pvp weekend, although I am sure they will release a couple more patches ) It was a 6.5g compressed download and required 25g to install once decompressed. (then of course you can delete those big files)

That would make me the ultimate tester, and yet still no offers...

I have heard it is a 6gb download, in all seriousness if it is taking you that long to download 6gb there is something wrong with your network.

Lots of games put a low level cap on they're open beta mainly because they do not delete the toons when the game goes public, so YOU can continue playing your existing char. Sorry to burst your Warhammer loving bubble

If you can't afford something DON'T BUY IT... Its pretty simple. If you won't pay $15 month for a game membership then don't. If your computer cannot run a game cause its old or a pos, don't buy the game.

Where is the confusion here?

IMO, the reality of this situation (and I will use hardware for an example) is people are to lazy to figer out if they're PC will run something before they buy it and or listen to the bone head at the store lie to them to make a sale. In which case you deserve to get pwn'd, if you don't know enough about computers to figer something like that out on your own OR your fricken lazy to put a little effort into learning something about your computer, then go buy a game console.

August 12th of 2035. That's right, August 12th of 2035. 8/12/35

So, if you hear rumors about a bunch of us beginning to play on May 20th, 2008 (next month), I want you to ignore those rumors. There will be no game for you to see until August 12th, 2035.

End of line.

Exactly what he said.

Funcom announced today that their Pre-Order program is now in full swing with availability in all of their western markets.

Funcom and Eidos announce that Age of Conan pre-order programs are now fully available in all major territories, including USA, Germany, France, Spain, UK, Oceania and the Nordic countries. Conan fans and MMO gamers are already raving about the incredible pre-order items, including the War Mammoth and Killer Rhino, and today Funcom ups the ante and confirms that everyone who pre-orders may access Hyboria several days prior to the retail launch.*

Ever since Funcom and Eidos started the first pre-orders in early 2008, the program has received great feedback. The exceptional Age of Conan Collector's Edition has topped the charts in numerous online retail chains for weeks, including being #1 on several all-format lists. The most eager fans are therefore urged to order their copy of the Collector’s Edition immediately as it only comes in one print-run.

Read it all here.

Good post Stradden thanks!

Im all for a hardcore loot server, the problem is, if items are extremely powerful like Eq, EQ2, WoW, etc etc... then we run into a big problem.

If items are like UO (at release, not now) then its acceptable.

Items more or less make the call on whether we can have full loot or not.

Im not in beta so not sure about items, but it will probably be more like EQ,EQ2, and WoW... so as folks have said, spending 3 weeks on getting "Sword of Doom" only to lose it when you get ganked by 6 people wont be so much fun.

Granted you can make items no drop and such to bypass that... but then whats the point in full loot if items are "blessed".

I doubt AoC will rework the game specifically for a hardcore pvp server, as thats more or less what it would require (assuming of course items have many +'s)

From what I have read so far, I haven't seen any magic items other then socketing gems to enhance a piece of gear. Yeah I doubt they would rework the game for hardcore pvp but it could be something they have on the back burner that they're not mentioning at this time.

Heres hoping!

Apparently you haven't read much at all.  There are supposed to be hundreds of sets throughout the 80 levels.  There are 8 raid dungeons that are set up in a step by step progression, just like WoW.  If you don't think AoC is going to be gear based, then you are fooling yourself.  Full looting will never work in AoC.  Sorry.

Thanks for the apology, I wasn't aware you had the final say on what will work and what won't

Maybe they should let the community vote via the official website, it would be interesting to see what kind of numbers show up and for which type of looting system. (Just a thought)

Despite all the 100+ million dollars a month Blizzard rakes in from WoW alone EVERY MONTH, I highly doubt they are putting WoW 2  togethor considering they are barely able to release a decent expansion without resizing, changing the color of skins and then re packaging it and selling it to us, boasting its some fantastic new add on.

I was really looking forward to BC only to be disappointed when I seen how much of the existing content from the previous world was slightly altered and re packaged and re sold.

Besides that Liche King is due out this year...

ill speak in terms of wow for a comparison in death penalty. It would be great if  you 'drop money when u were dieing ,lets say  50silver per death,or even you would have a chance 1% to drop an item of your inventory.Corpse running or lowering stats its just silly. You need to give both the attacker and  the defender a  good motivation.Attacker and prolly the winner, will have his decent loot awarded and the defender prolly the looser, will have its 'penalties' . It would work great imo

Items and money come and go but I think the worst death penalty is a exp hit. In Lineage2 you can grind for 2 or 3 hours then die once and its all gone.. lol thats the worst. If the game isn't going to follow suit with regards to all the other MMORPGs out there and base they're loot around high powered magic items, leaving us to use the finest crafted items in all the land, I say let the craftables drop. I mean take into consideration the objective of the game, its war. Anyone that read the old Conan comics from the 70's (which is what the game is based on) knows they were not for the faint of heart, nor should the game be.
