What does it say when your Forum Mods are not playing the game? |

Not to be a stalker or anything Avery, but what server are you on?
People on Doomsayer are rerolling on Deathwhisper because of lack of players. It's becoming a Ghost town. |

Banned for one email? I can't imagine even Funcom being that stupid. On the otherhand if the receiver reported him.... |

When Protus-AoC posted that I was nearly floored. |

Congratulations and welcome.
But USMC? You are a marine and play AoC? What are you some sort of glutton for punishment? |
||||
As an Ex Necro I enjoyed this one. The wife one was good too. |

Unfortunately I cannot say that as fact, the same as you cannot say the opposite. Hopefully Funcom will give some sort of retention statement in its 2nd Quarter Profit Statement which I believe is due the first week of August. Just thought I'd add this Thread from the AoC forums. http://forums.ageofconan.com/showthread.php?t=146396 I don't know how long it will last before being deleted but the example of whole guilds collapsing should be a big warning sign. |

Active accounts have never been reported. Activated accounts on the otherhand have been fairly well documented. The difference in activated account and active account is Activated means someone has registered their code at the Funcom website. Active account is an account that can play the game.
My account is Activated but because I cancelled during the free month, my account is not active.
Funcom has never released active account numbers. Anyone who says there any number of subscriptions is guessing. Most polls that I have seen estimate that 50% or slightly more of people that bought AoC have cancelled. Funcom should be releasing a 2nd quarter profit statement during the first week of August. That will have some sort of statement about retention of accounts. |

AoC's bugs and missing content are the least of it's problems

Unprovable either way. The tight control on population numbers for AoC make this claim unprovable. I can say there are lots of people that do not like this game. There is even a small population of active subscriptions that do not like this game. Yes I am a hater and even a troll, but AmazingAvery is my opposite, to the point that he has been accused of being paid by Funcom. |

Do your best to not compare Turbine and LOTRO and AOC. Its not even close in terms of stability and quality. Yes they are having trouble with book 14 but their problems are so small they barely register the majority of the time Their problems are the ones that the AOC fanboys refer to when they mention "all MMOS have bugs" AOC is not in that category
lotro is in the category of an mmorpg being released over a year after AoC, has less site traffic, less subscribers, yet is more polished and stable over all, with less X-fire subscribers that AoC has and a lower ranking. Yet several Lotro fans like to point out that AoC is losing subs on a week in week out basis, point out the game is bad because it has a dodgy forum mod etc etc. Good show.
1. Don't ever quote XFire numbers about AoC after being told by several dozen fanboi's that XFire is irrelevant to AoC's numbers. 2. If you are actually worried about LotR's comparison XFire numbers, give it a month. I assure you that AoC's lead will be corrected. |

And their lack of vision extends to writing endgame content, good PVP rules, stable code. |

I haven't read a more illogical statement on the forum by the fanboi crowd.
Doesn't that mean said poster doesn't like the game? |

Don't bother with this game, its a unfinished product and a refuge from kids from WoW.

There is no such thing as PVP. No one actually attacks until their target is at the disadvantage. Playing my Necro the only people I had to worry about were at least 5 levels higher than me or grouped people. Unless of course I was fighting more than 2 mobs. I cannot count the number of times that I had people wait around until I was in battle with something else before I was attacked. About the only time I never faced a fight is when it was equal footing then they would never attack. I had a rule where I would not attack first. Once killed I would hunt the bastard down for the next 10 minutes.
Needless to say my kill ratio was very bad, around .500. |

Originally posted by SirLorn I don't think you understand. I hated GW and stopped playing. Crysis was okay but not great considering I owned Farcry first. I stopped playing. WoW got silly lately. I stopped playing.
AoC ripped me off and I stopped playing. But more than that I have to warn other people about this game. It's that bad. No other game I have ever bought has left me with the feeling of being conned. So many things that Funcom does makes you feel you are paying for a scam. The worse part about it is you can see that it could be a great game in other people's hands. |

List 5 things you would improve about the game if you had the chance.
General Discussion « Age of Conan 7/26/08 3:10:18 AM
1. Why have all the Character modification if you are just going to cover it with baggy armor. 2. Memory Leak 2A. Memory Leak. 2B Memory Leak. 3. Better Chat Interface. Face it most people play MMO for the multiplayer. Chatting is half the fun even though it tends to lead to "Barrens Chat". Easier use of Emotes. 4. More diversification of Party Raiding. 5. Better PVP System/Better Balancing of PVP.
PS Stop treating haters like the enemy. Really we are willing to work with you on game problems. |

Admittedly Game Cards for AoC have a lesser impact then WoW. Simply put AoC was supposed to be a mature content game with the majority of players being over 18, (can't say what the future holds with Funcom reducing the mature content). Most 18+ have a credit card to pay for time and don't need to buy Game Cards. WoW on the otherhand is a game for all ages.(If you let your kids play with that much violence) |

I hate to say it but I agree. Trolling this game is so fun and so easy. Just when you think you have run out of material to troll with, Funcom comes up with another brilliant idea like charging for the download of the free trial. |

This and all the other problems you ranted on about, yet you made it to lvl 80, doesn't sound to me like the game was all that bad as you say it is or was, doesn't sound like you lagged and crashed out as much as you are trying to exaggerate your experience, just sounds to me like you spent way to much time playing games online in a hurry to get to lvl 80 and now your bored with nothing to do. I find it funny when people play the game till lvl cap and come on here and trash the game as if they didn't know what to expect when they reached lvl 80. If you were like lvl 20 or maybe even 30 I would probably lean more to agreeing with you. I just love the Catch 22 of any attack on criticism of this game. If you have played to 80 then the problems are not as bad as you say. But if you quit early then you have no right to criticize because you didn't give it a chance.
I quit early due to lag spikes, disconnects, bugged missions, unbalanced characters, no sieging, bad crafting, memory leaks, lack of content past 50, silly dungeons, expensive mounts, instancing everywhere. Only thing they have truly corrected is the mount costs. To give them some credit, they are testing memory leak patches. While sieging is possible, it is a lag fest with problems in capturing a keep. |
