I am having trouble too.  How did you find out about Auth Server?  I haven't seen anything posted about that.

The only thing I see on the radar that will cut into WoW is another Blizzard game Diablo III.

I think this game was marketed wrong.  There is no MMORPG in it.  You don't ever identify with your characters.  It's more of a MMO, simular to a FPS.  Call it a fantasy shooter maybe?

And as for MMO the chat interface was totally awkward to use.  Communication gave you a feeling of playing a solo game.  Other players might as well been assisting NPCs.

Starting out the response times to actions were pathetic.  For most people there was almost a quarter second of nothing after you pressed a button.

Thirdly I am going to say something that very few people will agree with.  There was too much RVR.  Simply put, if you were in the Greenskin area, you had no idea there was a major battle in the Dark Elf area.  The beta was a blast because it forced the testers in a limited area.  There was always something going on.  I was shocked when I started playing the real game.

Finally Character development is backwards.  It seems you get the majority of your abilities early on.  Even to the point where no abilities were given at level 20.

Our client crashes (CTDs), are now at their lowest point at any time during development or since we’ve gone LIVE.

Well I wouldn't advertize they had gone up.  This is one of the worse self serving statements I have seen in a long time.  Sort of like Life Cereal advertizing it has less poison than before.

This is going to sound silly but this game came out rather bland to me.  There is no immersion factor.  I cannot identify with any of the Characters.  While it offers a certain amount of PVE, it's not very comprehensive.  There is a fair amount of PVP but it's mainly a button masher while no strategy.

For me the exact opposite reaction is happening.  I have seen at least 1/2 of the Hardcore Raiders coming back to WoW.

Most see potential, but it isn't there yet.

PVE is repetiive and boring in my opinion.  This game is a cross between a FPS and MMO.  Not great at either but okay enough to be mildly enjoying.

Communication has to start before the Scenario starts.  Get everyone on the same game plan.  Even bad strategy beats no strategy.

And are you staying with the group or do you find yourself soloing all the time?  Team work will always beat talent.

PS When in doubt, turtle.  Turtling will almost all scenarios in this game.

There is as much meat to this review as there is to the crafting system in WAR.  Meaning not much.  Even Mythic admits that the crafting system needs reworking.

And yet they still haven't fixed left handed mouse issue.

I was having some lag issues myself.  When I talked to to my ISP,  they mentioned my modem not being up to gaming standards.

Really though, there is a million of different issues it could be.  From port settings on your Firewall/Antivirus.  Background issues such as WAR hates Media Player.  QoS not always a good choice.  To your modem.

Try to do a tracert while lagging to see if its you end or not.

AoC had the most amazing beginners level and just could not hold up to the promise of it.  WAR you get a good idea what it is in the first 10 or so levels.

It may be the best New MMO out there.  I still think WoW is a better game.

Without knowing your system, try seeing what you have running in your background.

Have you turned off your machine lately?

Have you defragged your machine lately?

Question,  would you move/merge servers if that meant you would have to give up your guild and guild rewards?  LLose your patterns and everything you had invested in building your Guild Town?

I think that may be a major stubbling point for Funcom.  I mean besides being lousy programmers.

25 DoK with 20 Renown.  24 Sorc with 22 Renown.  15 WH with 13 Renown.  15 Shaman with 10 Renown.

There is something about the 20s that makes me reroll.

My personal opinion is WoW is like the movies.  The Original WoW was a great movie.  Unfortunately they have brought out 2 sequels and we all know how sequels rate compare to the original.

WAR is cheap knock off of the Original Movie.  Sort of like Krull the Barbarian was to Conan the Barbarian.

Okay bad example, but you get my drift.

Or maybe they are seeing the two biggest releases for MMOs take a swan dive and want to advise the developers of new MMOs what went wrong.

How can a 4 year old game dominate the market the way WoW has?  Simply they are ahead of the trend.  Or at least have a good response to anyone who has an idea.

Its simple decision.  If you are running 3 gigs ram and less, get XP32.  If you running more than 3 gigs of ram get Vista 64.

Vista's filing system and administation set up is in a word unique and isn't worth the hassle for normal people.  XP64 is basically a glorified Beta system and has too many bugs to run.

Vista 32 and XP 32 will not reconize over 3 gigs of ram.  There isn't enough 64 bit programming out there to worry about 64 bit operating systems.

Overall I like XP over Vista.

All games from EA that were closed down either late in development or while being live and fairly stable.   Earth and Beyond is a great example (and a game I played).  It had a pretty decent launch, was stable at about 75,000 subscribers and had a really enthusiastic development team.  They pulled the plug even though people would have stayed for another year without a development team.

UXO was months away from being launched after 2+ years of development and was yanked at the last minute.

I had 2 accounts for EnB and used to run two machines.  I LOVED THAT GAME!
