Seriously.. it's a PVP server. You knew the rules when you made your toon (unless your an MMO noob which is a fair excuse I guess).

Yes there will be gankers, campers etc. If the prospect of this makes you unhappy, roll on an PvE server. This isn't just for AoC but for every game. People can be as childish, annoying, and rude as they want, it's the ruleset of the server that allows them to be.

I just find it very tiresome when people complain about this.

If you've never played it, try it.

It really is a great game, just that when you've played it for years, people can get tired and pissy about it. I do.

There's a free trial, and even the base game (no expansions) is like what.. $20 with the first month free.

My only suggestion for fast travel in FE is to make it for 1 preferably central location in S1, S2 and S3 for people to fast travel between. 1 spot in each sector enabled for fast travel would make going back to hang with friends from S3 or S2 feasible. I really don't see the harm of this, only the benefits.

The thing is, there is nothing unfeasible about it as it currently stands.

I am involved with a 200+ member (active members, not just padding numbers here) clan that is very well known ingame and we constantly have high level or level capped players in all sectors, almost anytime of day.

It`s just a matter of what you are willing to do on a personal level, many of us have no problem making the long journey back to the previous sectors. I find that it brings back a feeling of nostalgia from the original days of mmo gaming, as well allows me to plan and prepare for whatever I might be wanting to do during that particular playsession.

Sure, it can get boring, but travel isn`t really intended to be some dramatic, exciting event.

I do agree that it doesn't have to be some dramatic, exciting event, however if I've got an hour to play, and it's going to take me half that to get from A to B to pvp with some friends for example, I'll probably not bother.

I think you need to find a balance in there without making it to easy to get around. I think a train from a town in each sector could be a good solution.

I've thought about this as well as although it is 'real' that it takes you a while to get from A to B, its really not that fun and I think it is contributing to my indifference to play the game right now.

I've also thought about the train idea seeing as you see those tracks all over the place around the starter towns. The idea of contributing time to bettering the world and getting it out of the stone age is a good one. MMO's don't seem to spend much time on the player base actually effecting the worlds in which they play and I think this would be a great way to go about it.

Wow.. these guys really are hammering out bug fixes every week. Nice to see they are so on top of things.

Hmmmm that is quite a nice offer.

hmmmmmm should I relight up the sub? and for how long?

If it had multi player ala Diablo 2... I would be all over this. However, single player games just don't do it for me anymore.  Here that devs? Get multiplayer going and I'll buy your game!

The pets aren't going to make your player any better or worse.. so who cares. Once they start charging for weapons or what not, then I'll chime in.

And hey.. the $5 to charities is a nice thing.. probably more then a good chunk of people bitching give in a year.

No, I'm still on trial.. however I have reinstalled it again on my Windows 7 machine .. someone had a sticky I believe on the forum named 'useful links' or something, just can't find it now. That was maybe last Thursday though so maybe they changed it.

I will be buying the game, so I could just get off my butt and do that.

Thanks, anyways..

Just wondering if anyone knows the link off the official site to download the game client.

Very addicted to the game, and want to install it on my computer at work :P

Thanks,

Does yours say Preview Weekend or WAR Preview?

EDIT: nm.. looks like WAR Preview is how its worded.. which FYI I have in my account but did not get an email for it (but I did get ones for creating the account etc).

I just got my keys 5 hours ago, made my account, put them in, and I had these 3 right away under my account descriptions..

Open Beta
Head Start
Preorder

About and hour later.. I got this as well..

WAR preview

Which is what I'm assuming is the weekend. I read somewhere they are only allowing the first 50K into it though.. not sure.. but like I say I just got my keys today and look to be in.

EDIT: This is standard edition as well.. and this is NOT from direct2drive.. just wanted to say if you get your keys today you still have a chance..

Ya.. if they could take on multiple pvp mobs they would be OP I would think (as would any other class).

How did you fair in the PQs? You say the dmg is low.. doesn't that mean the Chosen would in general get shafted for loot? Or does it take other things like your debuffs and such into effect?

Thanks, this is something I was looking for.

Do they fair ok 1 on 1 in general pvp? Obviously they have a problem with ranged but otherwise..

And what do you know about the Black Orc in comparison to the Chosen? Heard Orcs do a bit more dmg.. but have a bit less defence..

Finally how have you faired with a healer buddy with you?

Chaos Chosen.. waayy too bad ass looking for me not to play.

Sad to say that I have to agree with most of the OP's view. Was really looking forward to the game.

Its funny about the apperance of gear.. you have to hover over a person's name to see their level, because you can't even gauge it most of the time based on what they are wearing. Its mostly the same look from 10-70.

I've cancelled my account but not giving up total hope. I don't think AoC is totally going to die and they will capture a core crowd.. however until they can fix core elements to the game, I won't be one of them.

The only question is now..  what to play.. FFXI.. Vangaurd.. or back to ..*cries* WoW.

Now that is a nice map!

I'm kinda bummed I can't play right now.. not going to get too freaked out over it though.. BACK TO THE FEAT CALCULATORS!

Level 20 Dark Templar here..  haven't had too much issues with PvE.. being able to take on 3-4 at once with little down time.

Haven't really engaged in PvP that much but when I was jumped I didn't last too long. Right now it seems to me the lower end gear + only 1 hand dmg + your life leech isn't that high just isn't enough.

However I'm a complete noob at this game right now and really still just learning how to fight properly. Also I've read that DT's actaully become survivability machines later on so.. *crosses fingers*

Probably wouldn't want to play WoW after only 13 levels either. I am curious about the load times.. never much a fan of that in EQ2.
