i wouldnt get a Xeon, those are usually used for servers and very inefficient power wise, you can get a pretty nice core 2 duo for around that price i think...honestly, dont go with the xeon is would be a bad choice.

now, your graphics card would be nice to upgrade, geforce 7 series cards are dirt cheap lately (with the 8 and 9 series cards out) id go as far as to suggest get an 8600 or one of the lower end 8800s so just incase you wanna run dx10 you have a card to do it.

so with the RAM, i would highly suggest getting another gig in that, this would vastly help loading times

summary:

go with a core 2 duo processor (this one for instance, i believe is one of the latest core 2 duos : http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115028  cheaper and will definitely be better, that processor is AMAZING people have overclocked it up to 4.0-5 ghz easy)

after you get a good processor, definitely get another gig of ram, it will help a lot more then anything after the processor is in.

lastly, if you feel you would like a little more power with processing upgrade your graphics card.

the minimum requirements basically let you know what you need to see the game, but when you add in big cities, huge siege battles, all the effects from skills and such, you'll need some more power

everyone should give a MMO a chance to get on its feet after launch, launch is the true testing and developing of the game in my opinion (well sorta...)

look at swg (PRE CU!!) for instance, the game was pretty crappy when it launched, but now look, SO many people LOVED IT they even have stopped subbing to anything SOE makes or has a part in, why? because pre-cu was made into one of the best (arguably) mmo's to date (until it was destroyed with CU and NGE)

yeah, still wondering if i can download the game early since the file is so big, if they allow the download right then the 3 day starts then it'll prolly take me 3 days lol, well, maybe a day, but still.

i was talkin with a friend from SWG recently and he was saying that he heard that if Age of Conan does as well as funcom is expecting it to be and it takes a lot of subs from SWG SOE will be shutting down the game. has anyone else heard of this? was just wondering if it was floating around elsewhere, either swg will be shut down or will SOE just think the Station Passes count as SWG subs?

i was also considering pre-ordering for the bow, im just a little worried that my character would grow out of the item...im gonna see if funcom has a support thing or w.e for this

if it was free...yeah, but honestly, pre-cu would be really outdated with no updates for over 3 years or something like that. if they maybe upgraded the graphics a bit (in a good way not their nge graphics "upgrade") polished it up, then maybe id pay for it. but AoC looks a lot more appealing, atm, then pre-cu, their pvp servers concept is what has me hooked atm, pvp almost nonstop whenever you want it. i like

i hope AoC goes open beta, around beginning of May could be a possibility, a friend said it was great, so i wanna see if for myself before i have to actually buy it, even though im picking up beta asap hehe...only thing is that apparently the game is over 30 gb of space in the beta atm...not exactly sure on if this is the truth but it was what i was told

my favorite bug is when you're on the ryatt trail and then you just kinda fall through the floor...like swg...

1. Stargate Worlds 2. KotOR mmo 3. true medieval mmo (no magic and such bs, real medieval stuff, just humands, no dwarves, elves, orcs, etc...you get my point) 4. modern military sim mmo (armed assault kinda works for this but a true mmo would be awesome) 5. something that is just a "wow clone"

i was wondering if anyone knows of some truely medieval mmo's, i like the time period ( knights, swords, bows and arrows, horses, etc) but the only games i can seem to find are all with the magic and such, is there any game out there that is just like "realistic" medieval?

yeah, at the moment, swg jump to lightspeed (the ground game pretty much blows but space isnt bad)

that is what it kinda seems like to me, the graphics look pretty cool, but what i mean by this question is that if i like eve online but have always wanted to get in one of those drones/fighters and take out a carrier like luke skywalker did the death star (just a fighter) would this be my kinda game to look for?

a new server and new graphics would be awesome, it would definitely bring me back to the game, it was pretty fun and all, and im not usually a graphics guy, but i couldnt stand what they had, very outdated, even making the world just enhanced and then follow it up later with better looks avatars would be insanely cool
