Darkfall Online - The best PvP we currently have
General Discussion « Darkfall 4/03/11 2:31:44 AM
i dunno, i'd say eve has the best pvp imo, so many more things to do then DF in eve as well. but you can still have the full loot lawless option in 0.0 space. i have had some of the most epic and fun battles in EVE, never experienced anything like it in any other game...the main drawback is the learning curve and the time it takes to get into a decent ship and keep up with the players that have been playing for 5+ years |

how does steam ruine your game experience? it just makes things more convenient for me just download the game whenever i want, no need to worry about disks or w.e i dont even use the social aspect of it.. |

EVE + Planetside |

you mention games that are very niche..FFA full loot pvp game... |

all games are like this Rift is just like WoW which every major "wow killer" has tried, it has a few unique features, the only thing different from this game and the other major flops is this one is polished, so im sure it will retain a decent amount of its playbase compared to the other flops (AoC, WAR, etc) but it wont be "the next big mmorpg" |

now hopefully it wont be a buggy PoS like Oblivion and Fallout 3/NV...

still looking. i considered earthrise but im going to wait to see how the developers deal with their terrible launch and as far as i know the territory control hasnt been implemented yet. really hoping this game picks up has a lot of cool features going for it and is unfortunate the wasted potential That mars wars looks interesting, might give it a try waiting for APB: Reloaded to come out, apparently they are adding a territory control game type, as well as the tribes MMO from HiRez, but there is little to no information about that |

definitely something to watch, might check it out tomorrow |

i used to play planetside but from what i hear it is pretty dead now... |

I've had an interest in a territory control type game but not sure which ones there are. i know there is GA, i enjoyed GA before they started adding in all this gear and crap... i dont really want a game that has a HUGE time commitment, and would prefer an actual world with territories not just (very small) instanced hexes like GA has. show me what you got |

Do want this game...but i leave for air force basic training jan 4, prolly wont be out by then lol |

the blog post from one of the former rtw employees explains a lot of stuff, especially the money issue and there was a major lack of communication. a QA guy got chewed out for pointing out things on the forums to the higher ups because only community relations were allowed to point out things on the forums. customer support couldnt do CS on the forums because it was community relaitons job to do the forum thing....basically each section of the company was only allowed to do their specific job without any idea wtf was going on, what the players wanted it was just a cluster fuck, here is the link to the post: http://lukehalliwell.wordpress.com/2010/09/15/where-realtime-worlds-went-wrong/ a good read if you got the time

never seen a shooter with that much customization, it was brilliant, 1.4.1 had some very good things and the patch that was supposed to come out the day they announced the shut down would have added a "true skill" district that removed upgrades for the people that complained about it. they were finally starting to listen but it was a bit to late, unfortunately the company was terrible anyone can pick it up and make the game way better |

so what are the major differences between this and apb...apb was great (flame suit activated) i didnt try this game because i was told it is small instanced battles instead of an open city (such as APB and GTA) i am also looking for an apb replacement but i havent found anything that looks remotely interesting yet. just hoping someone buys it, shit i'd buy it if i had the cash |
