You didn't talk only about communication with the devs, but also about the game's quality of content, I myself can't find anything wrong about Aion's ammount of content, thus why I replied, out of all the things explained, I already managed to foresee myself and my daily agenda in Aion, doing different and cool things every day. This was what I pointed as my possible future endgame activities in another forum:

Raids in open world that require competition
Instanced raids
Working towards gear by getting pieces from mobs or crafting
Ganking people who are hunting mobs in the abyss
Posting in forums to create drama
Organizing groups seeking PvP through portals
Casual solo pvps
Killing NPCs of the oppossite faction
Farming Abyss points to get better things
Siegeing fortresses in the Abyss
Recolection of items
Completing quests that have good rewards
Completing quests that give me access to certain stuff
Getting money to buy stuff
Going through rifts to the opposite lands to control their cities
Practicing my skills on arenas
Events
Farming stuff to create siege weapons
Fighting for artifacts control in the abyss
Killing the dreadgion <3
Posting a bit more in forums
Getting the best color setup for my armor set
Recolecting money from taxes thanks to our brand new fortress
Becoming hero
Helping my mates becoming hero

The communication is up to tastes, and as Ayase said, there's an abundance of information about the game, and that's what I personaly seek for before playing a game, not only information, but being able to see it by myself.

It's not about fanboyism or such, you gotta understand though, that if you come here saying another game has better and more content, people will react against you, specially when you narrow the features of this game to make it look weaker or to make your argument stronger.

Hasn't shadow step been in like...forever? I forgot how the skill to advoid aggro was called like and maybe I've confused stuff, but that was there since C1 or so.

From the UK any suggestions what the best server to join would be?

Luna is kinda new, only Giran castle has been conquered thus far afaik, then Teon is packed with Euros, it's the most popular one, Franz is boring imho :P

Now with those shadow weapons, being properly equiped at any level is more than possible.

Some people prefer to be told about the game they are following, some others tend to like seeing things by themselves.

I would love to ask every WAR fan a question, would you change those Paul Barnett videos for hundreds of gameplay videos made by players? Anyways, as lyan said, Aion will be marketed whenever we get closer to a release, I've already stated my opinion about these issues, right now, marketing would only bring trolls and undocummented people to these forums.

Also, I think the things you're pointing about this game have no research whatsoever.

The game isn't about an instanced battleground, not only cause the abyss isn't instanced, but also cause you narrowed it's concept to a maximum. You don't talk about fortress sieges, control over artifacts, raid bosses requiring PvP cause it's open world, an Abyss points system allowing you to become hero and kill parties by yourself, even more abyss points to acquire gear, the best quests and resources being there, with a third faction that can attack those fortresses randomly, a real risk vs reward system with massive pvps going on at every time, and a long etc, and that's only the abyss, a 3 layered PvPvE zone, there are Elyssea and Asmodae, which also have its zones and their own activities to develope. All of those things are already tested in beta, it's not about promises or something a dev tells us, but something we can see by ourselves in videos and reviews.

About the GMs controlling the balaur, that quote comes from an interview which stated that only in case of terrible lack of balance between races, the GM's might lead a bit Balaur's movements. Anyways, every game with GMs is open for abuse, if you don't trust Aion's you shouldn't play the game, but GMs have powers in every single game.

I don't know, I think you haven't kept yourself up to date and you're blaming the CM team for that, but they don't have to sell you a game months before they release, that would only get you more impatient. They are keeping their site up to date, releasing artworks, patch notes, and working on the conventions where they'll be showing Aion this year, there is where the marketing manuver starts.

I might come back aswell, many of the features in Gracia are looking good so far and the biggest gripe was that many of my clannies didn't have the patience to grind up a char, now theyll have no excuse ^^ I just wish they open a new server along with the expansion, but that's not gonna happen, im afraid :<

You know any good FaQs for Aion?

The one we have stickied in this forum is a bit outdated in certain things, but quite complete, it covers almost everything up to CBT2 information, right now the game is through CBT3 in korea, so you can get easily up to date in fansites such as aionsource.com since those fansites are making an excellent coverage of the actual beta.

And well, if you have any question left after gathering some info, feel free to ask, we have some experts up to date in this forum also.

I remember people asked CBT2 testers on Aionsource about their favourite part of the game.

Almost all of them replied Groupping/Group dynamics, thats a quite good indicator that the game has Emphasis on grouping as you wish.

That being said, there are group quests, lots of areas with "elite" mobs to group at, and the abyss, where groupping might end up being way more effective and safer than trying to solo it up.

While the game has the soloability there for those who are into casual playing and can't afford spending hours trying to find party, it certainly encourages groupping, and has many features attached to that.

The game highly encourages partying, it doesn't enforce doing so though.

For all those who wanted to try the game but couldn't level a character due to the extreme grind, these are good news.

Wings, graphics like L2 and RvR.

You didn't spend too much time trying to form your opinion about this game, did you?

What's exactly the politic in this forum, they moved an Aion thread but they don't move WAR's threads from the general forum?

All EA does is supply funding for the company, Mythic works on the game itself and EA doesn't stick it's head anywhere near it.

They didn't even know of the changes to the classes and cities until Mark Jacobs did that interview; thats how distant the companies are. Mythic is even reverting to their old name, Mythic Entertainment, dropping the EA Mythic.

If they do follow the path of previous games, they will have success like they did with Ultima Online or Dark Age of Camelot (old school DAoC and UO anyway).

Please, look at what Im quoting before replying.

He states a prejudice towards korean games, thus why Im saying people could also have prejudices towards EA sponsored games.

It's ok, EA won't ruin WAR just like Aion won't be a korean grinder, i'm fine with that.

I realize, but your prejudice example for WAR was wrong.

I was just setting the record straight, because EA has nothing to do with how WAR turns out, all it does is funding. Your prejudice should be geared towards Mythic, versus EA.

My prejudice was as wrong as people stating korean games are grinds cause they are korean.

Aion's beta is going progresively, meaning we get to see what they test at every single level zone. Aion beta started with CBT1, where they opened the first 20 levels, they tested crafting, combat system, and basicaly every feature a game can have from level 1-20.

Some stuff were pointed by the testers: Mobs were hard to kill cause the only zone to level up to 20 was a party zone, customization wasn't as good as expected, crafting was hard and people wanted PvP.

During CBT2, they upgraded the crafting system, they improved the customization system, they opened more areas from level 15-20 and they created content up to level 28, they also implemented the promised rifts system, which ended up in massive combats between Elyos and Asmodians.

After CBT2, some stuff was pointed also: Leveling from 24-28 was grindish, Asmodians were less attractive than Elyos and there was some lack of balance between classes. NCsoft had a system going on which allowed them to see how people died during PvP, which skills were the most overpowered ones and which classes had troubles against certain classes.

During CBT3, they opened the abyss (level 25+ area) with a lot of new quests solving the 24-28 problem, they showed sieges and an Asmodian legion currently owns one of them, with taxes sytem in already. People area already level 40, there are a lot of raid bosses, Asmodian wings were changed to attract more people to that faction, and the classes are now balanced. Flaws during CBT3? ATM people has pointed out that the idea to make asmodians level up faster from 1-30 and then change things around give an advantage to asmodians, considering how NC has dealed with reports, I can foresee this is going to be fixed soon enough.
