Maybe it's because all of those games are under a beta testing stage (excepting SGW, which is hyped cause it's a big IP, and Earthrise, which has some pretty nifty screens, bot imho that one shouldn't be there). Oh, and SOL is known cause the devs spend their whole day hyping the game up by creating new accounts, it should be deleted from the hype meter, but oh well.

Many Darkfall's fans lost fait on this project developers. They can have a publisher and what not, but they've lost all the respect by failing so many times in getting dates right, I'm not going to play a game where devs blatantly lie to their users, repeatedly, even if it sounds good on paper.

we get the movies from sites like mncast and so, those are like korean youtubes, and it seems its trendy to upload the videos there instead of a kind of filefront like in EU/US, Im afraid those movies aren't available in a higher quality, or at least, the people who upload videos in youtube can't find them :<

Since this third stage of closed beta (hopefuly the last before an OB in korea) is almost finished, I've decided to recollect the best videos found in youtube (thanks to sunshineaion and aionhun for their hard work uploading vids) as it's already a tradition here.

Im going to categorize them in different sections so it's easier to browse.

PVP:

Massive siege.

Probably the best siege video at this moment, it shows some good organization on both factions and huge numbers, the engine is powerful.

Ranger POV.

Quite good video, there are a lot of things going on there at an incredibly fast pace.

Templar POV.

Shows that templars in this game do their function well, to last a long time and to defend their mates.

Solo ownage.

A gladiator teaching those Asmodians some manners.

PVE:

Boss fight.

Seems that during this raid, the enemy faction used some artifact near the zone, screwing up the raid badly. Good griefing way :D.

The infamous "polearm assassin".

There has been a lot of controversy in Aion's forums cause of these videos. This girl was the first character reaching level 40 during CBT3, she is an assassin, using a polearm thanks to the stigma system.

Balaur fortress guardian.

Looks like he went crazy on 25% HP.

Chanter soloing.

Seems that non DPS characters can also solo in the abyss, look at his HP. Animations are uber.

THE ABYSS:

Entering through the main gate.

A bunch of Elyos getting into a fortress.

Controlling an artifact.

The Balaur were screwing everyone...till this group arrived!.

Control towers help you killing mobs!.

There are towers in the abyss that can be captured, these help the faction owning them with mobs and against enemies.

An artifact effect.

There are many effects cause by artifact activation, this is one of them.

Ressurection stones.

They are used to resurrect near them, you can put them wherever you want during sieges, and the enemy can destroy them also ^^.

Dreadgion.

The fearsome ship where Balaurs travel in, also serves as a flying raid, yet to be defeated.

FLIGHT:

Gliding.

A new system was implemented, making flight a bit more realistic and entertaining.

Flying in masses.

Quite cool to see all those white wings at the same time.

Flight time increasement potion.

Pity that the guy was fool getting close to a kind of energy point that kills you :P.

Scripted flight route.

Leading you to a secret place.

QUESTS:

Shugo's love.

Quite romantic video from these little furry thingys, looks like quests are great in the abyss also :).

Cutscene with skeleton-dragons.

Short and not really special, but cool nontheless.

Finding the statue's head.

We already saw this on previous betas, this was recorded during CBT3 so I guess I could add it just to show people who haven't been following the game for long.

Flying practice quest.

There are flight teachers!.

BEAUTIES:

Elyos sorcerer and her world.

Pretty cool video, nicely edited and fits the music well.

The abyss.

Showing some places, with a chill out music in the background.

Elyos fortress guardian.

Quite badass design.

Asmodian ranger abyssal armor.

Quite cool to see how it changes depending on your stance. The glow around it is Divine Power bar being full, the armor doesn't glow.

FUNNY:

Kiss me!.

Quite funny video showing some powerful customization tools ^^.

So hot.

Some people abusing a little bit of the customization system, those girls are really ugly but chic nontheless.

PvP!!!or not?.

Oh, a cute sorcerer hunting...wait, why doesn't it die...oh noes!!.

More customization.

The system is quite good, but you might end up getting some ugly bitches if you mess with it lol.

OP's points have already been replied by me and others, there's no reason to keep this going.

Depends, now the things are cheaper, and you can reach level 21 with around 450k thanks to certain quests.

People have reported 1-20 in 1 hour, around 5 times faster than before? And there are multiple quests for those levels.

The PvP is deffinetly unlike WoW's, sorry if I'm dissapointing somebody here.

Open world dynamics are completely different from battlegrounds, you don't know when you're going to pvp, unline in battlegrounds, where you are always ready to be hit by people, ganks might happen, some people dislike that, others think it's an adrenaline rush and a way to feel accomplished.

Then, the most common PvP will be in order to control a hunting zone, people will have to fight for mobs, mixing PvP with PvE has always been good in my book, this happens also with raid bosses, which aren't really hard to kill (except the epic ones), but who last a lot, increasing chances of PvP (factions might organize while a legion kills the boss to get it before they do).

Then we have fortresses, almost constant sieges where people gets to fight for their faction if they want to keep the profits the fortress is giving them. There is an abyss points system, where you can win, but also loose, specially if you die by a lower level character. Those abyss points will give you access to certain items and skills which cant be achieved in another way, also will give you access to the hero system, where, for a week, you become hero, being like a raid boss, able to wipe an entire party, but giving huge rewards if you get killed.

The PvP system in this game is going to be serious, like in almost every Korean game. They like competition a lot, as I personaly do.

Player housing is something considered for future expansions, or atleast, it was reported like that by a Ncsoft guy.

There are NPC who will defend your fortresses and controlled artifacts (artifacts, for those who don't know, allow your faction to put a dent on your enemy faction's defence by transforming them into frogs, getting away their ability to fly inside fortresses, to hit them with DOTs, etc, there are many artifacts affecting different zones and each one has a different effect.)

The faction owning a fortress will have priviledge over certain hunting zones in the abyss, and the economy is there, AHs are quite used already during beta, and there are player shops if you want to sell something outside of the cities, like selling potions on a popular hunting zone so people don't have to go back to town.

There are taxes for owning a fortress, people will buy from the vendors in the abyss, and a % of that money will go to the legion controlling that zone. Fortresses also give your faction direct access to certain zones, which are hard to get to otherwise.

The Abyss system is deffinetly a well thought out and solid concept, and all of that is being tested already with good results.

Oben, now this is a good post and the one you had to make when you created the thread, props on that.

However, Is there any upcoming game with an "exclusive feature" or as you said, "a trademark"?

The lore isn't about heaven vs hell, it's about the creation of the god Aion, the balaurs, who revealed against him, he had to create the daevas, but due to a conflict of interests and points of views after the tower of eternity was destroyed, the daevas ended up on a civil war which consequences were bad for the Asmodians, they had to move to a darker and tougher part of the world, evolving in a different manner. This is narrowing the lore as much as I can, I recommend you to read the official sites lore, and aionsource.com wiki's lore part, it's a good read.

The combos system is about finding the best DPS technique possible, and about reactive skills, everytime you block/dodge/parry, the skills you have ready for those conditions will be usable, then there is this thing about setting up a list of skills, which can end up derivating in 3 possible new skills, it's probably not the most innovative thing ever, but it's trully fun cause it doesnt change the rules 100%, you get to enjoy the combat at a fast pace with not so many button mashing required, yet the system is a bit more complex than the usual fighting system.

They are going for a low end computer target, the game can be played during beta, on mid settings, with a Geforce 6600 and a P4 2,8 GHz, a PC like that costs 200$ nowadays.

And wings is just another skill, you can't be flying around the whole time, wings, from the lore, are an ethereal form of energy which need a zone rich in "aether" in order to work. There are zones where you can't fly, there are zones where you can fly. The wings have a timer on them, they last 1 minute, you can't be flying forever. The wings are a strategical part of the combat cause of the bonuses (not only speed, but defence, attack, etc) but also as a way to use skills that you cant use on the floor, timing your flight times perfectly will add another dimension in massive pvps.

Aion mixes the best things I enjoyed from previous games: RvR, massive open world with hardcore non limited nor instanced PvP, sieges, control of hunting zones, Raid bosses in open world like in L2, and few classes which happen to have different playstyles (tank can go with 2 handed swords and be more offensive) and adds some interesting concepts, the third, uncontrolable faction balancing things out or fighting for themselves, the stigma system, which seems like the one seen in FF7 allowing you to get skills from other classes, a meaningful crafting system, weather affecting the recolection of goods, the ability to use whatever gear model you want and add the atributes of another set, quest cutscenes to tell you the story, and many, many other details which you can only know if you've been following the game properly.

The game has been dying for 3 years already, the subs keep stable and the updates keep coming though lol.

I've followed both releases in NA/EU, L2's and Aion's.

I think NC is going to do way better this time in terms of localization and customer support, at least, the previous stages seem way more thought out than those in L2, where only Austin took care of that, and considering Austin didn't have any big title to handle back then.

I always thought arenas/battlegrounds play against open world PvP, open world PvP needs a lot of dedication to succeed, wow has proven people will PvP whenever they want to instead of pvping cause the game puts them into that risk. This is one of my major turn offs for war, I can't really see it working, one side or the other will end up being useless, and its likely that open world PvP is going to be the one affected. Anyways I don't see the need for instanced battles, considering the graphic loads in this game aren't that big.

Warlord kinda sucks in PvP though :P

It doesn't hit specially hard, the skills aren't really doing much damage, and the CC skills don't really work with people unless highly enchanted.

While I think that L2 graphics are hard to beat, Aion beats them, keeping the massiveness.

The clothes are better separated from the body, making them look more natural in movement, the enviroments in Aion are alive, small bugs everywhere, particles effects here and there, the skies in Aion are detailed and beautiful, the shadows are way better defined...both games were computer friendly at their releases though, L2 can be played with a 8 years old graphics card, Aion can be played with a 4 years old graphic card.

Well personally I feel a bit the same way...I tried to do research, but when I went to the website I got about the same out of it.  I've watched a few videos and nothing seems so amazing as everyone seems to be making it out to be.  Maybe its a new world and new lore, but the game play seems so boring...

which video did you look at where the gameplay seems boring?

PvP 1v1 lasts indeed, I don't see anything bad about that considering how the abyss is a party area, once people focus on the same target it goes down easily unless healed, that works quite well in massive pvps from my experience.

Flight time is limited, if people use flight for scaping instead of using it for the strategical part of it (bonus in dps, defence, etc...) and aerial skills...well, it's up to them, but you can always chase your enemy by using flight yourself and waiting for his to fade.

That XP penalty means that if you kill a lower level mob, you will not receive the ammount of XP that mob gave you a pair of levels ago =)

Every upcoming game's features have been seen in a way or another in older games. Aion mixes the best out of those (for me, and many others), and adds combat flight, aerial raids, an unpredictable NPC faction, the ability to get skills from different classes, and smaller details which don't really make or break a game.

That's really nice, I will probably sub up to L2 again once that goes live. The only problem I can think is that all the old areas will be abandoned and obsolete. Not too much of a price to pay I guess, but I will miss some of my fav leveling zones.

Edit: Person above me, are you serious about it only taking a month to grind to level 75? From that I remember, and commonly hear, that's BS. It would take more like 6 months from what I hear.

Knowing how to play, the zones to hunt, the features the game and maybe having a buffer has and everything, 1-75 in 1 month is possible. I leveled an alt abyss walker 1-70 in probably 3 weeks buying buffs playing around 5 hours daily (more on weekends).

Diablo isn't a MMO, it's an RPG with multiplayer option, it misses the massive part, same goes with Guild wars, dunno about HG:L but the company has closed so who cares.

Aion is a MMORPG, the world is massive, you can get to play with 5000 players around you, and as such, it is P2P.
