http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/mastercosmo/aera-mobile-application I'm developing a mobile game that has a lot to do with creatures and leveling them, competing with them, and creating new ones. I wanted to post a link to another forum location on MMORPG for more info http://www.mmorpg.com/discussion2.cfm/thread/332384 |

Hello everyone, I'm building a mobile game that I think fits perfectly with those heavy into RPGs, Collections, Competing against friends, and leaderboards. Maybe I'm biased, but I feel this is the best Mobile game in development I urge you to check out this link and read more about the game. http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/mastercosmo/aera-mobile-application What is Aera?Aera is a new Mobile Game that merges the imagination world with the real world. Using only their imagination, children are capable of creating new worlds and creatures unlike the world has ever seen. The problem with your imagination is that as you grow older, it begins to fade... But just because you cease to imagine the world doesn't mean the world is gone... In Aera, all the creatures and worlds created using imagination can be visible again allowing us to interact with our long lost friends and even make a few more along the way. You now have the ability to raise these creatures and adventure with them. You can discover new and exciting places, treasures, and other creatures in your adventures and even challenge others to combat. ![]() GameplayThere are three main gameplay aspects to Aera: Crafting, Adventure, and Combat. Crafting ![]() Crafting in Aera is unique in that instead of making items, armor, or weapons like many other games, you will actually be creating new creatures. Through your adventures, you'll come across new creatures you may have never seen before. You'll have the ability to create new ones by combining creatures that you have. Not all combinations will work, so it's up to you and the community to discover what will work. These new hybrid creatures are even more powerful and will help you as you adventure to more dangerous locations and challenge some of the elite creatures. Adventure Adventuring is the focal point of the game. There are many ways that you can adventure in Aera. The first is by sending some of your creatures out on missions around the world. They will return with rare items and treasures for you to enjoy. Another way of adventuring is exploring with your creatures in the wild. Select the area to explore and see what you'll uncover together. There are many great rewards and even some exciting battles you may encounter. Always be prepared. The third way to adventure is by exploring the real world yourself. Checking in at different locations will earn you additional items to help you and your creatures as you progress. You may even find new creatures for yourself! Combat Creatures not only love exploring, they love competing and protecting you. Creatures will be able to engage others in combat through random encounters or by challenging your friends. If you train your creatures properly, you will give yourself an edge over your opponent. Choose your attacks wisely, You never know what might happen... Social ExperienceUtilizing the strengths of a mobile device, Aera will allow you to enhance your gameplay experience through your real world interactions:

On Travel: Why Old School SWG Travel was Cool
SWG Veteran Refuge « Star Wars Galaxies 10/05/10 9:10:22 AM
There are goods and bads to the changes over the years, but personally, I could not stand the slow travel and the 10minute wait times for a shuttle. Back in the day I was a resource hunter for my guild and I would travel all over trying to find hotspots for everyone to lay harvestors. Running around the planets or riding my slow mount didn't help anything, and waiting for transport in a dead zone wasn't fun either. I thought it was fine to wait in areas like Bestine and Coronet because there was a lot going on, but I'm at the point now that I need to get to where I need to go now to keep myself entertained, and the more I'm waiting for something to happen the faster I'm likely to logout. |

Originally posted by Troneas Oh I'd say there is certainly potential. The key thing here is that teh devs taht are there are extremely passionate. They are not intern developers either. Most have been with SOE for years and have been working with SWG their whole career. But one important thing that could make the arguement worthless is whether or not SOE feels worth their money to allow further development. The Devs will be there working at SWG every day as long as they can, and I feel that as long as the population doesn't shrink much more than it is today, they'll still be working on SWG. I thought SWG was going to be done by the end of this year really, but the current staff is a lot more passionate about the game than most people give them credit for. Sure we don't see major updates and game changing content, but they are releasing some updates we've never seen before. Hopefully they keep it up... But I am worried about this Nightsister update being a huge let down... |

We have Hjal, TT, and DevShade as active developers. Everyone else is working on DCUO or left the company. The former developers still have access to the boards obviously. They posted on the SWG boards just to do it. I'd say almost everyone that posted is working heavily with DCUO. The game is set to come out later this year so they are working hard on that. Hjal and DevShade are smart and doing what they can for SWG. We will likely see no new major content added to SWG. We've also seen the TCG slow down likely for the Star Wars Adventures TCG coming in a few months too. |

It's a really good game. Probably one of th ebetter Social Media games out there. It's to get you interested in The Agency before it is released. A pretty good idea really. |

Smedley says "your going to see something around the Agency 'very' soon...
General Discussion « The Agency 4/12/10 1:54:44 PM
Before I bash/praise SOE on The Agency, I'm going to wait until I get my own hands on it. I disagree with a lot of things that SOE has done regarding their games, but if the game still entertains me, I will play it. I don't care who developed it. I'm not going to take a stand against a company unless they do something ethically wrong. I'll be keeping my eyes open for Fan Faire info for sure. It can't come soon enough |

It is old news, but as far as I know, the Agency is still being worked on. The SOE Art Portal on twitter posts often about art assets being worked on for the Agency. SOE has not been very vocal with their product. Obviously losing those 3 took a huge hit on the game, but I don't think it would completely derail the game. Time will tell... Which is sad because I am absolutely ready for the Agency... I really can't wait. I hope they can clear some air this year at E3 this June or SOE's Fan Faire regarding The Agency. |

The Agency is still being developed. Yes, 3 developers in key roles left to form their own company (again) called DetonatorGames. The SOEArtPortal still talks about the Agency often, so the art work is still going. They have not talked up the Agency yet because they know they have quite a ways to go and they want the hype to be at the max when the game comes out. Talking about it now will have people's attitudes a bit stale before it launches. DCUO isn't on there yet, but I'm sure it will be in time. I would certainly expect LA to announce this sooner than later now... However, I don't expect it any earlier than E3 (June) or SOE's Fan Faire (unannounced as of today). They are still probably quite a ways away from the game being ready to play. I know we would've heard something by now if it was coming out in the next year... The good thing about the Clone Wars game is that it will likely be built off of the same engine that Free Realms is, so a huge portion of design is already completed. We'll have to wait and see for sure though. I'd definitely expect SOE or LA to break the ice this summer. |

Not really an update, but there was a SOE Employee Spotlight with a member of the Agency team. http://forums.station.sony.com/station/posts/list.m?topic_id=11500015632 I'm hoping that we see some updates soon. the @SOEArtPortal on Twitter mentions from time to time working on agency art... I think it's getting close to some real updates soon... At least I'd hope so. My thoughts is that we'll get a lot more around E3 and SOE Fan Faire. |
