I agree, the silver option is pitiful. I thought you'd at least get another class or two. Can't see why anyone would want to buy it. The first few times I logged into extended I didn't get past the character creation. Way too restrictive. In the end I made a warlock, having rolled a mage previously. The problem is going to be too many of the freebie classes around. Players with freebie characters are going to find it hard to group, which will be another restriction when there's way too many already.

Wonder if it will be reduced on Steam too

Can You Run It tells me that I can't run it because my CPU fails. Minimum is a duo 1.8ghz when I have 2.53ghz core duo. Is the site unreliable or am I missing something?

Well, first off, selling anything from the engine would be a no-no, as the engine they use is Unreal 3.0. They can't sell or license anything that isn't theirs, and anything coded into the Unreal engine would also be off limits. The only thing they could sell would be the art assets and such.

Is that some sort of record? It was doomed to failure from the start. Its only appeal was to twitch based fans and they can play better games without any kind of sub. The only good part of the game was the design tools. Be good to see those implemented in a better MMO.

I'm not the biggest fan of LotRO, but they've made a hell of a lot better job of this than the convoluted dog's dinner Soe have made of EQ2 FTP.

I checked the FE website and there was nothing about it in the news. It wasn't in the store either, and I didn't find anything in their announcement forums. It's true Icarus haven't announced anything about it. A few players have seen it ingame and when they asked where they got it the players with the mount said it came with a copy they bought at Gamestop. Whether it's going to be made available to other players no one knows.

Just posted a pic of the mount as seen ingame on the FE forums. Thought I'd post it here too

Exactly. There's a comedic or dark humor description to almost every item in game. There's a line of weapons called 'Sports gear' or something.  The slots and blackjack machines are always making humorous comments.

I thought the blight wolf mounts were ridiculous but I quickly got over it. You will, too.

There's humourous, then there's silly. Players riding comedy mounts is silly. And there's nothing 'latent' about it.

No, the entire atmosphere would be ruined by players running around on oversized chickens. It's idiotic. Not to mention the fact that it seems rather too close to mounts in fantasy MMOs FE was supposed to be different from. I can only think they're trrying to appeal to players of those games as their subs decrease further. Can't see any other reason they'd want to introduce such a ridiculous feature.

Prarie Chickens were one of the funniest things about the game, almost iconic, and this is just advanced nitpicking if that's the case.

It doesn't matter how they word their payment model, and it doesn't matter whether they called it an MMO or not (although, I think they were quite happy with this description when justifying the 'subscription') the point is not enough people will pay monthly, or hourly, to play this game. I'll be amazed if a year from now APB is a thriving game with a healthy 'subscription' base. I wouldn't be at all amazed if it doesn't even exist,in any form, though.
