No you aint getting everything in the world for free. especially not of developers trying to run a buisness with the game they created.

No dude or girl. World of warcraft is friggin expensive. YOU NEED to pay 12$ month. and since there is like 8 million players in it. You go figure out the math. 12 dollars x 8000000 = Alot of money each month. They could easily lower the monthly price some. And still profit very good.

In there you can play free. Easily lend stuff of others to play with. And its about chatting. and that is free.

But i guess since you can't figure out "There" is auctually a buisness. You can't be very old.

Do you think the developers can keep running the game giving everything free from the start?.

You do not need to use money to play There. you can easily lend stuff of others. You might not have other clothes. But thats up to you.

You dont need money in there to have fun. And i know you can lend of others. Its not a problem. i seen people lend of others tons of times and i also lend out when people ask.

Tbucks dont cost alot. And the developers need them to pay server cost. their staff and so on. If you can't handle that fact. well then you need to research more on what the real world is about. because in the real world. You aint giving anything for free.

Haha but seriously, I tried there on Sunday and I have mixed feelings about it. What struck me the most at first was the controls being really awkward. Only after running around whilst trying to adjust the camera angle did I see the boards with instructions on them.

After that, a random girl came up to me and asked me if I "want to kiss," to which I ran away. I may myself to the water, then back out again. Little did I know a dude would follow me around harassing me about there being "sharks in the water."

Next I went on a trip to the spa, to which I was very disappointed to see one has to pay for anything remotely interesting. One of There's main marketing tactics is the promotion of it being free, yet in order to enjoy the game one has to pay.

Lastly I would like to mention that the graphics suited the game well. Also that it's rather confusing to new players due to the awkward interface and no proper explanation of exactly what is available to do and how to do it.

Lol in my world you seemed to have a great start. Lol its always hilarous when some young girls come ask if you want a GF or wanna kiss or whatever lol and some guy following you around saying there is shark in the sea. Well thats hilarious :D how can you complain.. haha.

And yea i tried Second life. and was hugely disapointed. I looked like a retard when i walked. i try to interact with a item and it does all the wrong things. I can't figure out the interface. I do not like that you can change yourself into monster and fly around like superman. and i think the world is uninspiring.

There is more my game. Its simple. Has its own style concerning the world and avatars. Good animations. and a few standard activities like paintball / car racing / Hoverboarding / card games and so on. And then made up events.

Good graphics dont do it for me. Second life definitly have some great avatar graphics... its not a terrible game. But as said above. There appeals to one group of people while second life does to another which seems to be the majority.

Add to this that those gamers that played years without a deposit have financed their game mostly on Raising item prices and because a few years ago the competition in the trading market (selling high buy low). Was much easier. I traded myself the first ½ year which was the first ½ year of 2004. and managed to scrab in 1700 ped without a single deposit. If say i did buy a Meckel and loch for 1500 ped which was the price back then. and kept it to today. i could sell it for problaly easy in the range of 15000 - 20000 ped. Through time you might also buy a certain item. Use it a month or 2. and sell it for a good profit since items kept raising. = Money to play for.

Starting now. Trading buisness is very popular. This meens very high competition and bargains are hard to find as others pick them up first. The good contacts to suppliers to sell for are mostly taken. Sure its possible. but i knew a few guys and girls trying to start up trading or sweating or anything similiar. And they dident succes alot. But sure they profitted. But we talk maybe 50 -100 ped on 2 months active work. 1/2 hours a day minium. On that time you could make way more back in time.

Look at the post before yours. Hes a example on how you profit in this game today. Deposit 50$ and Cross your fingers  + You simply play smart as he does. If you dont get a deposit in your first 10 bombs. Chances are its not giving out much there simply. Its not because your "Global or HOF" might be around the corner.

I just had to add that what was possible a few years ago is not possible today. Also back then most sweaters was hanging around S for Camp phoenix ( i were myself) In the bee camp sweating. They dident attack or move. So you simply kept sucking sweat out of them all day. When one was dry you moved on to the next one. and kept circling around. You can't compare back then and today at all. And sweat prices was 2 pec / bottle if i recall right (anyone around here remember exactly). You got a bit less amounts anyhow. But still it was more profitable since the monsters was standing there and not attacking or moving ;).

Oh! Somebody mentioning buying melee so to save ammo. It doesn't work like that. Melee weapons decays everytime you hit a mob, so basically you spend ammo that way.

This is a great example on how EU should be played. Great advices ;). Playing low end is auctually the best way to play EU. The hunting is as fun as it is for medium players. Only difference is the size on the animals and your guns. Hardcore hunt with low end gear. Which gives you alot more hours for your money of blasting away monsters for fun. and buy yourself a better armor and a better gun and put it into your storage. and go for a Medium and bigger hunting session now and then when you feel for it. and as your skills develop with time. you can move into the medium hardcore part of the game and move up from there. ;)

On the other hand those who invested in the land put in alot of money and also alot of risk therefore involved. Since there is nothing to complain about if the game shutdowns or something similiar. Well even if mindark just removed the part of the map your land was in. You can't according to the rules (EULA i think the name is). Complain since mindark holds all rights to change anything in there. + the fact they hold the rights for the items in there. You only have the right to use them.

No i just had good gears and stuff. I did choose to sell out as i dident hardcore hunt because of healthy reasons i can't be at the computer for very long sessions. and since alot of implementations made my great gear alot worser in the aspects i had most fun in. So i choosed to sell out. Also i dident like the way EU went in many ways. A different community where most old friends was gone as well.

If EU was like it was back when it was good. I wouldent sold out. Also the prices would been way cheaper and it wouldent be alot of money anyway i would get out. But when you can cash in 10.000$ where maybe the half was deposited. I wanted to spend the money on something nice In real life instead since as i said. Dident have much activities or friends left in the game anymore and dident play very much anyway.

Sure i had profits. But thats the same for all Veterans in EU. Its only because of demand and supply getting prices high up. You can't join now and buy demanded items and earn alot of it by keeping it for a time. Well maybe. But we are already very high now. I doubt alot of people do have the cash to spend on it anymore exept richer people. Which surely also plays EU.

Its up to people to judge for themself if EU is good or not. Surely the game is just alot different today and in many ways it might appeal more to other people than me. Surely i felt in love with the game i joined when i was new. And i had great times in EU through the years and i appreciate the funny evenings i had in there. i Dont hate EU. I just dont see any point as why people should join in now and try playing for real to reach the top. There is already tons of people in the top right now which is not reachable skill wise if you dont put in around 100,000$. And yes this is what a Top player calculated his skills to ve worth after current market. And who is willing to spend this. Or just the half of that to be around or simply near the top?. And you would never get the respect anyway as the current top players since you would just be tagged as a rich noob.

If you wanna try something different. Just wanna hang around with some lower gears thats worth 50$ well then this game might be worth looking at. But dont expect a game where you can advance with time without preparing to also tosh in some bucks on the way. 100-200$ for a medium gun. 300-400$ for a medium armor.

I play rarely on low skills and low gear. Its cheap and i get a decent gameplay out of it for almost no money. Since there is no monthly fee. I do not have to concern about it, Which is nice. im in a society with some very beatifull people. And i log in there for a mining trip and a chat now and then since they let me stay in the society for old friends sake ;). I also get a PM here and there when i log in from people asking why im never online. so there is still some people in there i known for long which is nice to talk to now and then. And the game brings me great memories when i log in and look around a bit again. I dont feel any shame over saying i had some memories in there that is almost as big as In real life ones. Its kinda scary. But it was so real. Since you auctually do have a second person in there. Its the first virtual world i been in. I really felt was like "Virtual reality". :). So as i said. I dont try to slash down EU. I dident lose anything at all by playing it. So i got no reasons or motivations to bash it. Im just trying to give an insight in what it been and what situation its today. And which possebilities a new player have in it compared to ago in time.

And yea the graphics is not bad anymore exept from the terrain is still a bit dated compared to the avatars. But its because of the implementtion of cryengine 2 which will problaly change that.

But as i said. If they did more to make the game more appealing in the length. This game would be "the shit". But it has a bad reputation and that doesent come from no where. Its never been as bad as it is now regarding the reputation. And its because none of what i said is lies. :)

Seems like you play smart. But profit everytime is pure luck. Most of the people i know / known in EU exept the real old ubers with the max skills and max efficient weapons mostly do not profit. To have winners there must be looser. And frankly. Since they love to hype up new players with gigantic All time high loots on 100.000 peds. Most of it goes to one. While maybe 1000 players do not reach to break even.
Since this was NOT the same long ago. Where an all time high was like what. 3-5000 ped. It was alot easier to play cheaply. EU never been cheap to play. But it been cheaper to play.

Im not overreaction saying an All time high often is in the area of 50.000 ped - 100.000 ped. This is 5000 - 10.000 $ and it meens alot of players must lose ped in order to finance this big loot.

Its the way Mindark wants it. Get alot of new players in. Hype them up so they spend tons of cash on expensive gears and shoot off with too low skills. To they find out all their lost money goes to a lucky guy. They quit. And the cycle starts over again. There is milliards of people on earth. And they do not care about if they keep their new customers or not. Atleast this is the impression i get. If they cared about keeping them. They would do their best to balance it so its cheaper to play. They do not try to reach that. Big big loots and break even for most does not go well together.

But if you got so much luck. I can't see why you aint hunting some more. Build up alot of skills and sell them over time. if you break even with repair and new ammo the skills are basicly for free.

And i might mention again. But i played long. And i watched EU develop. I been there when it was alot different. Back when it was called Project entropia. When there was one continent and a crappy graphic engine :D. But man it was fun. and man i could afford it. even if it was not cheap. But that was because i did choose not to play smart. But no matter how i wanted to play. I would gain the exactly same amount of skills. So building up your avatar dident take years to get somewhere. But on the other hand this was misused by autoclicking with cheap guns and a massively cheap running medkit in the middle of a ring. also you could stuck animals at certains places. And then just autoclick a huge one with a low gun to death. and even get some loot in the end.

i think more content will be added. Also guild wars and siege battle's. Building up a huge city with your clan. Of course they will add level 80 content later. But they got enough bug fixing atm to concentrate on it. Also they doesent concern about people with no life that sit all day long and reach level 80 before they expected it.

You really got too much time and too few friends if you play so much. Im sorry. But i follow you in you are bored if all you do is sit in there all day.

Patience. Quit and come back ½ year later. Rest of the players will take long time about reaching level 80. So we do not concern about something we do not reach before some time.

Try joining a Guild and concentrate on building it up to be more powerfull or something. Otherwise move on.

 Im only level 21. And i had this game since release. So if it gives you any idea about what normal people are at. You see there's a long time before we are at level 80. Sure i seen people at level 60 but i guess they are around the same type of people as you are. its summer. there is a sun out there and problaly a family or so to go to the beach with and have some fun with. You can always play Age of conan. But you can't always be with your family. and some day your parents are gone and you realize what a waste of time you had loving a game more than spending time with them.

I just do not understand people like you. But this is my opinion. and i hope you get a point out of reading it.

If you consider the average MMO player and the time devoted to such games,  $15 doesn't you get you a full month of fun. EU or project entropia as it was once called was my first MMO. After playing for 2 years very cautiously I discovered that I was limited on the full enjoyment of the game because I was not willing to invest more than 25-30 dollars a month. When I finally got bored and switched to a p2p mmo (lineage 2) I was floored at how much more game time and fun I was having without the restriction or worry of money.  In fact I sold my L2 character/account  when I left to a guildmates friend for what my subscription cost me during the time I played. So i actually played the game a ton  for almost 2 years for free, and had a blast..

Considering that the average quality of the new mmorpgs are way higher than back when you started on lineage 2. EU is very dated considering the price to play. For example i find Age of conan to be very entertaining. With a combat system. Thats like EU is manually controlled. Which was one of the factors as why i liked the combat in EU more. And the fact that the envoirement in Age of conan has alot of spirit.

You might've played EU 2 years ago. But do a login today and see at prices. Try a hunt with a noob gun and notice the crappy loot you get when your done. So unbalanced and so damn silly all the way through regarding prices and returns. Its unbelivable how some people still keep playing it. And most new players have a one night stand with EU today. Because just looking at the prices on the items makes them quit already there. and i dont blame them. If you just like to chat. its auctually a funny chat room. Other than that. The quality of the game is drasticly falling.

On the other hand. Exept the Cryengine 2 that soon will be implemented. Eu's gameplay will not keep people very long when such good mmorpgs are slipping out every year. And good graphics will attract alot to try it. But great graphics with rest being without reason to pay for. It won't keep any players. only a little % will stay.

2 years ago it was more affordable. i was there myself. 4 years ago i was there as well. and it was very affordable. The gameplay havent gotten better. Auctually it just got alot more expensive to get any gameplay.

Very soon i will have to say R.I.P Entropia. it might last a few years if lucky. But the developers vision about it will stick around forever is unrealistic if they keep going the way of gameplay they got right now.

I played 4 years. And yea i accepted the fact it was very expensive to have fun in EU. While it was huge fun. It was some expensive fun.

At a period i did PVP alot. It has no return at all. But for a night of fun with a gun that is capable of having a chance in PVP. Expect atleast 20$ / hour. And that if your dont blast all the time. Which you normally dont. But the gun to have a chance in PVP cost 1500$. So already there we exceeded your budget.

Sure its possible to play for 30-50$ with lowest equipment ingame with alot of activity in the game. If you play smart.

This is just how the game works. and as i said. Accept it or dont. If you can't simply dont play it. because it won't change. And since there is still alot people that accepted this and blast tons of $ away each month. The developers got no reason at all to change this.

I had some funny and great times in EU while i played activily. But i did pay 100% for them if not more. And sure i accepted it. I Got out of the game with maybe a small profit. But only doing to the "Suplly and demand" kept rising and the items raised alot in value.

Want something refreshing and fun. try age of conan. Dont waste your time and money on EU. It was affordable and fun at one time. But today its expensive as hell and nerfed so much its impossible to advance cheap. It was truly a great game. But sometimes that changes. Look at star wars galaxies. It became a big failure with time.

Check back on the game when they implement Cryengine 2. Atleast it will be a beatifull chat room.

It will take you years of hardcore hunting and skilling to reach the best players in EU. They played all from back in beta. Since they could simply go into a pvp ring. Place a guy in the middle with a Modified Medkit. They simply bought the lowest and fastest gun they could. And blasted away on the man in the middle. usually 8 people blasting at him in the middle. This was possible to do for 1-2 years after it went gold.

The thing was. They gained the same amount of skill as you do with a powerfull gun today. Since the skillgain were the same no matter which weapon you used. its easy to reach high level skills with this method. Especially since you can just go AFK and let it autoclick for hours each day. And since it only cost them around 1 ped / 100 shot. It was a cheap way to get skills.

Same was with getting fap / evade skills. You simply autoclick fap outside at a weak monster for long with a modified medkit (which in the early days was reachable to buy). And you would gain the skills fast.

including to this. All attribute skills went ALOT faster up. We talk about 5x - 10x times faster than it is today.

A armor that cost 120.000 ped today costed around 2000 ped in the days just after beta. After a 2 years or such time. It was 20.000 ped. Suddenly 1-2 years ago. It boomed and it went on 70.000 ped or the like. Today  its as high as what i said  before. 120.000 ped. This is 12.000$ 

A modified fap. Which you could grab for 10.000 ped just after beta easily. Today cost 250.000 - 300.000 ped. This is 25.000-30.000 $. The most expensive item you can buy in the game would problaly be The Mccomick & Dub terminator. and we speak 500.000 - 800.000 ped and thats 50.000 - 80.000 $. This is scary numbers because its ridecolous. I quit this game halflfy and login a few times a month to chat with old friends. I played the game for a little over 4 years. and i had 100.000 ped when i quit. Alot of it was earned even since prices raised all the time.

Let me put it this way. Entropia Universe. back when it was Project Entropia around 3-4 years back. Very affordable. Very funny. Best community i ever seen. i could spend days in that game back then. Today its just a ghost of what i was. It looks prettier and is bigger. But it lost its magic. and it lost its mind. Prices are retarded. and the community is filled with scammers and money hungry souls.

I dont see how Entropia Universe will ever be a succes in the future. The days of EU being a succes is over.

Its worth a try since its free. But these words come from someone who loved Entropia. And someone that always supported it in forums and the like. After 4 years of gaming it. Im experienced and familiar enough with the game to review it.

Surely it saddens me my days in Entropia is over. But on the other hand. everything has a end. and im truly not writing all this slander because i simply got tired of the game after such a long time. because when Entropia was great it would never get old.

Well i also just preordered it. i think i had a mail somewhere about registrering if i wanted 3 day earlier acces which i dident. So maybe your right about it.

Anyhow just seems stupid you can't register it now. Anyhow if more people than me (which it seems) has the same problem. its simply just because its not ment to be activated that way.

No one have replied saying they had no problems doing it.

I will problaly wake earlier tommorrow and see if i can login so i dont have to wonder all day long on work if i get to play this game after. because i pre ordered this Shit at Xmas and been waiting alot. So it would bug me alot if i couldent get to play ;D

Yea but i have a hard time understanding what they meen with the big box "Early acces" thing in the account overview where it wants you to put in a Retail Key.

It says something like. You have to put it in to upgrade your account to full account. And if you dident have early acces you have to put it in to reactivate it.

But when you put in the activation code it says it isent valid and to try again..

Makes no sence. Especially that you can't create a new subscribtion because it wants the key...

I have contacted the support department via email a few hours ago. Waiting for a reply. But so far it seems like it doesent accept the cd key properly. It might be because its inactive or something. But i see someone replied saying the had the same problem.

But i find it weird its so misleading how it sets up when you do it today. Atleast i hope they haven't screwed things up so i can't get in tommorrow.
